I’ve added Frostgrave Second Edition support to Rollodecks, and I need people who know the rules well enough to find everything I got wrong.
There are two connected tools in the beta.
The Warband Builder lets you choose one of the ten schools, select your starting spells, add an Apprentice, and recruit soldiers within the 500gc budget and warband limits. It calculates casting numbers based on whether a spell is from your own, aligned, neutral, or opposed school, and checks the starting spell requirements as you build.
It can also generate a random legal warband, create a shareable link, copy the roster as text, export it, or print it.
The Campaign Tracker imports the warband and handles XP, advancement, gold, debt, treasure, survival, permanent injuries, the vault, base upgrades, and a scenario log. You can improve stats, lower casting numbers, learn spells, and run most of the post-game sequence from the same page.
Both tools also have a Ghost Archipelago mode for Heritors, Wardens, abilities, branch spells, crew limits, separate XP pools, treasure, and ship upgrades.
Everything autosaves in your browser. No account is required, but it does not currently sync between devices.
The Frostgrave portion currently targets the Second Edition core book. Expansion spells, soldiers, and campaign systems are not all included yet. Missing expansion content is not a bug at this stage, although I would like to know which books people want supported first.
If you have an existing warband, the most useful test is to rebuild it and compare everything against your Wizard Sheet and rulebook:
- Wizard and Apprentice stats
- Soldier stats, equipment, and costs
- The 500gc starting budget
- Maximum warband size
- Three spells from your own school
- One spell from each aligned school
- Two spells from different neutral schools
- Casting-number adjustments
- Apprentice casting penalty
Then try to cheat. Pick the wrong spell combinations, exceed the budget, add too many figures, or otherwise build something the rules should reject. If the builder allows it, I need to know.
For the Campaign Tracker, run a fake post-game sequence. Record XP, gain an advance, improve a spell or stat, roll survival and permanent injuries, resolve normal and central treasure, spend some gold, and add something to the vault or base.
Ghost Archipelago players are especially useful because that side needs its own rules check. Please test Heritor abilities and signature ability, Warden branch spells, specialist limits, the 250gc budget, and the separate Heritor and Warden XP pools.
Also try it on a phone or tablet, and check the print and export options.
When reporting a problem, please include:
- Device and browser
- What you clicked
- What you expected
- What actually happened
- The relevant rulebook page, if it is a rules error
No formal bug report is necessary. “Chrome on Android, selected this spell, and the casting number is wrong” is enough.
