climbing hills on a fixed gear bike is really fun. there's something about having to throw your whole leg behind each pedal stroke that feels so right, especially when the bike feels like it's responding to every single watt of your input. maybe some people are just meant to be low rev/high torque riders? i definitely feel like that's the case; i have big legs and i must mash. on a related note, i hope the stimulus from all of these grinding ascents makes my legs bigger than they already are.

Deadstock Miche Supertype courtesy of Ben's Cycle, Milwaukee 🤝Do I use it now or save it for a possible n+1 down the road? 🤔

A couple buddies and I started a ride at 4 pm to meet for pizza then at 5 pm we headed off into the woods for a night of nonstop pedal spinning and star gazing. 2 of us ran 49/17 on 30s and the other with 48/17 on 28s.
Scappoose-Vernonia highway, 47 & 202 all had basically no traffic on a beautiful & cool Saturday night. We faced stiff headwinds on 30 out of Portland and into the forest, but that was reduced somewhat with the tree cover. I stayed low in the aerobars asuch as possible to pull the group into the night.
Made it to Astoria in 5.5 hours from Portland with a couple quick water stops. Fortunately I got to burger king 10 minutes before they closed so I could snag an impossible whopper and onion rings for dinner! The fellas ate gas station burritos.
We continued on into the night taking side roads where we could, but highway 30 had basically no traffic so that was nice. Lots of wandering on parallel roads like old US 30. Stopping in Clatskanie for coffee about 3:30 am, I pulled a real pro-move leaving my phone in the bathroom and of course I didn't notice until 5 miles down the road! I doubled back while the fellas took a quick bivy/just slept directly on the road, so they got a nice 35 minutes rest while I lucked out with a bonus 10 miles on the day. Beaver Falls road is a real treat, seeing that massive waterfall was a great mental boost.
Daybreak was wonderful but there was full cloud coverage which meant no actual sunrise. Still I got that wonderful dopamine boost when making it successfully through the night. We cruised along the gentle rolling hills at roughly 20 mph as the entire return trip featured a lovely little tailwind.
Temperatures all night and morning were really pleasant at just under 60 F. I wore summer kit- bibs base layer and jersey - fingerless gloves and brought only sun sleeves plus a superlight wind breaker which was perfect.
Great practice for next month's 400 mile fixed gear race - PSP!

Hi guys. Is it comfortable to use in the city? A guy is selling me the one in the picture; it's a size L and I'm 5'7" tall. Do you recommend I buy it or not? And why?

got my first fixed gear bike (crew district) about a month ago after selling my car and it’s been tons of fun, changed a few things here and there and plan to do more but so far it’s been great! any suggestions?(my front tube popped and I have yet to replace it so I have the stock front wheel on atm)

When I bought the green frame I didn’t know the size I just knew I fit on it lol. So I went ahead and built it slowly for the last 5 months. I changed the cranks from 170 to 175 and that made the difference now I can’t stand over without slamming the seat post. I also hate the big gap in the frame so I got a smaller one. Fell in love with the color once I saw it in person

I completed my first solo 600k ride. This ride did not give me any credits and was not organized by any club, organization or institution. I completed the ride entirely on my own, self-supported, on a track bike without handbrakes. This was the final ride needed to complete my 3rd brake-less fixed gear Super Randonneur Series (1-200k, 1-300k, 1-400k and 1-600k ride in one calendar year). This route was the most challenging 600k I have completed and the time it took pushed my endurance and perseverance. It made me aware of what I am capable of as well as not capable of yet. The route was a version of the @pa_randonneurs, Bleu Kaundi modified to my preferences. All climbs were completed. Some gravel was ridden. It’s done now. Cinelli Vigorelli. 53/17.

Do people on purpose buy way smaller frames ? Because every cool build there is online, the seat post is super high vs mine. It can't be that they all have super long legs, right?
I got those fancy builds from "slowspinsociety". Last pic is my bike, it's the official size that Wabi recommended, is it too big ?

Got this new bike and I want to re paint it but I don’t know what color to chose. Please drop a suggestion you’d think fit with the rest of the parts:)

starting my rad race is there anyone with a free or cheap bike build (location: India, Assam) I cannot afford to have a premium build but will be happy with a cheap one like under 350$
