Randomly about a half hour ago I was scrolling down to my apps on my FireTV and it randomly started going back to the last app I opened when I would click a different app. Reset the TV and now the problem is that any time I scroll down a few rows the screen will suddenly go black and then return to the ad at the top of the screen. I tried replacing remote batteries, using the FireTV app to scroll, restarting and unplugging the TV and also restoring the TV to factory defaults and nothing is working. Any suggestions?

I purchased a refurbished Fire TV Stick from Amazon (actually from Woot) that doesn’t show ads on Prime Video. I don’t have a subscription so it’s just the free shows that I can access. I was told the previous owner must have replaced the official app with a sideloaded apk. Is it still possible to do this on my other fire sticks or has this been blocked in newer fire os versions? Is it now not possible to uninstall the Prime Video app?I purchased this one about 5 or 6 years ago but hadn’t been using it for several years so I just recently discovered it doesn’t show ads on Prime Video.

Just received the new UI on our upstairs Fire TV Cube. I really dislike it. Now, in order to find the app I want, I have to scroll down to "recently used" rather than having my favorite apps on the start page. I also can't choose the input without going into the menu.

Why did Amazon do this? How would they like it if we changed the keyboard on their computer or controls in their car overnight? And no user guide for the new UI, just dive right in and expect it to be intuitive. Well, they have taken away a lot of options (like arranging apps in the order I wanted them), so I guess it's "simpler," and OK if you happen to like whatever the Amazon devs like.

The best part? Our upstairs Cube has the new UI, while our downstairs Cube still has the old UI. Well, at least for a while, I'll enjoy our downstairs Cube and gnash my teeth at the upstairs Cube.

I've done every factory reset and setting change I can find. On the home screen, I can click through any row up/down/sideways without problem except if I linger for a couple seconds when I get to a sponsored content row. Then the screen goes black and reloads the last screen (no matter whether that's the top of the home screen, an app, or even a settings menu screen).

I can quickly click past the sponsored content row, but wondering if I should just deal with this quirk or seek warranty coverage.

Anyone know how to get downloader? Theres no setting to install unknown apps so i’ve got no way to get it onto my firestick.

I finally got the new UI update on my Fire TV Cube! (Pittsburgh, PA...USA) I have already been using the new UI on my 4K Max in the game room but it is nice to have it on the living room Cube finally! I think it is an overall smoother experience and it seems to track more of the shows I am watching but...It still has a hard time taking me to the selected show, a new episode or even resuming where I left off...not a new issue, but I was hoping the new UI's would solve this. You know... you see your show on the home screen so you click it but it takes you to a completely different show instead or maybe the first episode that you watched 2 weeks ago! Sometimes the episode list tracks your progress but usually not! To me, this is the biggest issue with Fire TV that needs solved! The new UI itself is great! What do you guys think?

y luego eliminas la cuenta,el modo desarrollador no se inhabilita solo queda oculto y más específicamente la depuración usb/inalámbrica se queda activa…

Not sure if anyone else has had this issue, but we just got a new Insignia qled tv, and no matter what we do for the picture settings, it seems to always revert back to motion smoothing being on, even mid scene watching a show.

Not sure if anyone has a solution or we just possibly have a bad TV, we'll figure it out take a shot here and see. Appreciate any assistance.

edit : solved, the culprit was the chud micro usb cable that had a dent in it so it didn't work

Hey guys - within the past week, multiple firetv devices in my house have opened / auto played different media than what I was watching - heres whats happened so far:

Earlier today, I was watching ace ventura on sling tv, out of nowhere, a movie from Amazon prime opened and started playing. 3 nights ago, I was watching a show on Amazon and then peacock tv app opened randomly and started playing an entirely different show, at the end kf an episode of the showni was acually watching... This has never happened until the past week...

Should just call out that there are no other users for devices on my network, its just me and I can see who's utilizing my network.

Anyone else experiencing this?

i need a small TV to use as a second TV, no streaming, no particular requirements. I'm oriented on a 32 inch full hd or hd ready.

Thje only question is:

- all the TV that i see have only 1 gb ram (max 1,5 gb ram)

A lot of people tell that is very slow change TV channel on a Google TV!

In alternative Fire TV with 1 GB have less requirements?

I read that in alternative it's better go with VIDAA or with TiVO OS what do you think about?

I have the latest Fire TV Cube configured for "Best Available" audio to ensure I get Dolby Atmos. It is connected to a high-end Yamaha receiver, but the audio occasionally cuts out entirely. The only way to restore sound is to manually toggle the inputs on the receiver. Has anyone else experienced this handshake issue, or are there specific settings I should adjust to maintain a stable connection?

Is it possible to install Android tv on my Fire tv 4K first generation? I would like to use Xbox cloud gaming but it isn’t possible to use the app because the Android version behind the fire os is way to old.

my new TV (LG G5) doesn't support any dts format so for files with dts audio I have to use my fire tv stick 4k max 2nd gen

I have a question regarding the audio: is there any transcoding happening?
in the menu it says DTS-HD MA 5.1 but in the picture under audio it says "plex.audio.dca"

also when I check the audio settings on the fire tv stick it doesn't show any dts formats (as you can see in the pictures)

surround sound is set to "PCM" - or should I choose "best available option"?

Every time my partner and I play a 4k blu ray on our ps5 the screen starts flickering on and off. We've figured out that it seems to be the tv continually trying to automatically reset the picture mode to Standard over and over again. A power cycle solves it temporarily but we'd both much rather know what could actually stop this.

The AI super sharpness is grayed out on Medium settings and sharpness to 0 on both systems I have hooked up. On my Google TV, which is the same Hisense model but different OS, is can change all of it. The AI causes motion artifacts on my Xbox.

Long story short, is there a work around how I can mess with these settings when playing a game?

Just bought a fire stick. I plugged it in, it shows “fire stick” on the screen, then goes black.

I tried using a longer usb C cord and plugging it into the wall

I tried holding the pause button and middle button to reset

I unplugged my tv and plugged it back in

I unplugged the fire stick and plugged it back in

The tv recognizes the fire stick, but the fire stick isn’t doing anything.

I googled it and a bunch of people seem to have the same problem but I can’t find a solution

I still haven’t received the new UI Update, that they’ve been rolling out since February… I have noticed that for the past few weeks I’ve been getting up to five “Notifications” that have no real text, and don’t make sense… Anyone know what that’s about..? Are they trying to update, and failing..? Is it part of the update process..? I’m actually looking forward to the update and wish I would get it already. I’m using a 50” Amazon Fire TV 4 (not a stick or cube anything)… Any Advice..?

It's taking me to a main menu instead. Did they bury such a simple operation within another menu?

Currently using a 1st gen 4k max, works well for the most part, but my main gripe is plex with antenna TV - it's practically unusable with buffering and dropped frames. I'm thinking about upgrading to 2nd gen 4k max, some say it's night/day performance difference, but I'm still a bit hesitant about a 2023 stick and being a ex-amazonian I know what kind of #frugality BS they can pull to cut corners. I'm not sold that this is a complete fireTV issue but I've tried all the plex tricks I can think of and it still stutters like crazy.

Anyone with 1st hand experience can share how well/bad it works?

UPDATE: After about restarting my Cube 6 times it finally shows the Apps row with the tiny app icons…

Instead of a dedicated apps row that should be the first row, I have to scroll down to the fourth row now which is not even an apps row, but a „Recently used“ apps row showing only 5 apps at a glance.

This isn’t right. Does anyone else with a 3 Gen Cube see the same?
