Hello all, I am sorry but I am unsure what to do in this situation. I am a graduate student who has been receiving Grad PLUS loans for 3 years, I qualify for the exemption under the new act. My school is telling me that the DoED has generated an eligibility code indicating that I do not qualify. I contacted FSA who ensured me multiple times that I do qualify. What do I do? I genuinely have no idea on how to navigate this and need these loans.

I got a message saying I received the Indiana frank o bannon grant but im entering a grad program now (the grant is usually for undergrad students),,, so will purdue end up using the money? if not, will I be able to receive the money in some way?

I’m honestly a bit stressed and I’m going to rant. So I got my bachelors (CSUF) this spring and got accepted at a credential program close to home. Everything was perfect UNTIL CSUSB informed me that I did not meet subject matter through my degree (child and adolescent studies: elementary school setting) so I paid to get a course evaluation (80 dollars?!). Turns out I need 2 English classes (even though I have an English education, minor) and 1 kinesiology class to meet subject matter at CSUSB. BUT I DO meet subject matter at CSUF since I took all of their required classes.

So I pushed back my application to spring 2027 and now have to take 3 courses through open university because it’s too late to apply as a regular student. But FASFA has covered all four years of bachelors, can they help with the credential program? Or help with my three needed open university classes?

And if they can’t help with open university classes, are they still able to help me with the credential program in spring or do I lose the financial aid?

I’m transferring from a community college to a CSU. I checked my schools financial aid package and saw my cal grant wasn’t there, I did some digging and realized that my school of attendance was still my old community college. I was able to change my school of attendance on the website but I was wondering if there might be any issues? As school is a month away and on my schools financial aid package the cal grant portion disappeared. I’m not sure if I just have to wait now or if I have to do anything else. Thank you

My school has finally received my Aid package and I somehow ended up owing instead of getting a refund like I was supposed too. I have no idea how im gonna pay this money. When i check my student gov account im able to receive wayyy more money than what was given. Not sure what happened or if my school can even do anything. I started classes in June and the aid has JUST posted. The funding plan I accepted was supposed to give me a refund. So sad lol.

So I am sitting here at 2am with four tabs open titled something like "scholarships for international students that definitely exist" and they all feel fake until proven otherwise. I am from Vietnam, a lower middle income country and I am the first in my family trying to study abroad. My parents can help a bit financially but not nearly enough to cover full tuition, housing and living costs in places like the US or Western Europe. Everyone always says "there are so many scholarships out there" but when I actually start looking, it mostly turns into "US citizens only," "EU residents only" or "must already be enrolled in a US university." I'll spend hours finding something that looks promising and then one line in the eligibility basically disqualifies me. It is starting to feel like I am always just outside the category that actually qualifies even when I meet most of the other requirements. If you are an international student who received a scholarship that realistically helped you, please tell me how did you find it?. I need to know ASAP if I should keep grinding these online applications or just accept that my best shot is school based aid and maybe working more once I get there..

Can someone please help me with my situation. I was born in 1978 and graduated highschool vis being homeschooled by my mother in 1996.

I am trying to go back to school this fall at my local community college in California. They are asking me to provide proof of graduation but it can't be my diploma.

My mom passed away in 1999 I know that she herself was my teacher I know that she did not go through the district or an agency.

What sort of documents should I be looking for I have a storage full of childhood things, including medical and school type documents.

I know that I have an affidavit my mom filed stating she was the administrator of my home schooling. What else do I need if anything.

I'm super stressed because this was ages ago and my mom is deceased and I can't get financial aid I'm told with out this information

My Gf will be beginning her credential program at CSUF soon. She received an email about the cost of tuition but she realized they had marked her as “Out of State” or something like that and the price was extremely high compared to a State/County resident.

Hi, I am an undergraduate student entering my second year of college. I am incredibly panicked as the amount of financial aid grant I was given was significantly reduced (almost by half) from my 2025/2026 year to my 2026/2027 year. I go to a private, in-state school in Pennsylvania.

I've already contacted my college's financial aid office regarding the decrease in aid and I have scheduled a meeting, but I was wondering what other measures I can take to better understand this change.

What should I do? What files should I be checking? Who should I contact?

If I received both federal loans subsidized and non subsidized, in spring for 25-26. Can I get them again in this year fall 26-27 or do I have to wait until next year 2027 spring? I’m undergraduate in California at a community college. Thanks.

Hey guys, I know this sounds desperate but is there any way to ask the financial aid office of university or fafsa for more aid? Me and my parents really need it or other wise my parents and I fall short and we already have additional loans to help). Please help

I'm in my BS program with Capella, a little more than half way through. As I'm working FT, I've been planning on 9 credits/ semester. I found out yesterday that, thanks to the OBBBA my loan amount has reduced so much that I'm going to have to pay a little less than $3800 each semester or of pocket.

Gemini figured it out a if I was doing 12 credits. The monthly payment out of pocket would go down to around $1700, and i would STILL hit the lifetime limit before graduating (just a bit further out). And i STILL can't afford that.

I tried calling the FA office-- 2 hours on hold yesterday, and another 30 minutes on hold this morning when their office first opened. NOBODY is picking up that phone.

I had to go into my account on my own to find this out. At no point at all were they forthcoming with this information. It almost feels like they were waiting to get past the course drop date so that I'd be stuck.

I ended up chatting with Google Gemini about it, and it looks like- based off of what info I got there and what my account looks like- this info is not a clerical error. Not only that, but Gemini tells me I'll hit my lifetime limit well before I even graduate this program.

I have until Friday to drop the course with a 75% refund. But before I do that--

Is this accurate? Is there something I'm missing? I'm feeling completely devastated right now. Aside from the fact that I feel like all this has been a waste of time and money, once i have to start paying on the loans I have I'm going to be REALLY sunk. I can't afford it. At all. It would have been doable with a degree and a bump in my pay rate. But now...... I feel like I'm on a very short track to losing everything.

I'm in a tough spot and could use some advice (and if anyone's able to help, that too).

My college fee payment of ₹38,000 is due in 20 days. If I can't pay it, I won't be able to continue attending this semester. I've already gone to my college's financial aid office to ask about extensions or emergency support, but it didn't get me the full amount I need.

I'm trying to figure out what other options exist — emergency student loans, scholarships with fast turnaround, crowdfunding, anything I might be missing. If you've been in a similar situation and found a way through it, I'd really appreciate hearing how.
