FFT Archer is underrated imo
I hear a lot of talk about how archer class sucks, and yeah it’s no calculator or monk but it’s a lot better than people give it credit for. It’s just not explosive or flashy so people don’t really care for it.
Concentration is amazing, it ignores all dodge, miss, or block chances for a guaranteed hit. It only gets stopped by counter abilities like archer’s bane or shihiradori.
Setting an archer up high with a longbow and concentration guarantees damage every single turn, they don’t have to spend as much time running to get to the enemy and concentration ensures damage is dealt.
And while the damage isn’t impressive, that can also be fixed. Aim isn’t flashy, but it lets you min-max your turn by tweaking your damage to match your target’s CT gauge just before they get their turn, or before they cast a spell.
That last but is important because Archer can exploit weaknesses more easily than other units. A mage casting a spell and running off requires a knight to stick out their neck, but Archers can just charge up a shot without being in the line of fire whatsoever.
Archer with Arts of War is brutal, too. Being able to rend armor and weapons (and stats too in a pinch) massively increases their utility. Breaking a units helmet can set up the rest of your team to jump him. Breaking a units weapon can give your team a break. Rending a mage’s MP stat to make them blank, or rending their MA to reduce its potency can swing the fight in your favor.
While not capable of brute-forcing their way through encounters by sheer explosive damage, Archer’s provide extremely consistent value turn after turn and rarely have downtime where they’re just setting up. They aren’t flashy, but they are reliable.

Working on a web-based Final Fantasy Tactics
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
This is a personal project in it's early stage of development, I’ve been working on recreating the PSX classic from scratch so it can run directly in web browsers.
Here’s a short video showing where the project stands right now.
My goal is to capture as near as possible the authentic look and feel. I’d love to hear your thoughts, feedback, or any small details from the original game that you think are absolute must-haves or desired new features.

FFT Ivalice Chronicles what is that circle star 2 arrow down icon? its preventing me from recovery
I use the monk chakra and revive and reading the page description doesnt say anything about prevention of recovery. It says recovery 0%.
aside from that, my equipment are icebrand, crystal helm, crystal mail, chantage, auto potion.
NVM, someone commented its atheist debuff and wiki it, I found out that the Gokuu Pole I been hitting with from Rapha been doing that
Edit: Also can someone explain how Regenerate & Reraise

Zodiac Comparability - is the bonus for target and attacker/caster only?
Do I need to be concerned with deploying units that debuff each other? Or simply avoid a healer targeting friendlies that they'd debuff?
My archer and knight debuff each other. They'll never interact, so their opposite signs don't matter, right?

FFT So... I just finished Tactics.
I just finished Tactics, and holy hell... This game is amazing.
Easily my favorite Final Fantasy game, and a strong candidate to my top 5 games of all time.
I played Ramza with Monk job + two swords (Obviously lol)
Aside from that... Not only is the gameplay extremely addictive when you finally learn how to play in the proper way, but also extremely rewarding when you build a strong character.
Not only making the game easier, that character also gains a sense from respect from the player when he destroys an enemy or makes a bad situation a less bad one.
Also my favorite story, a lot of twists, complex characters and the best FF protagonist, Ramza is simply the goat of Final Fantasy, watching him grow from a Squire with no vision into a badass determinated knight that never leaves behind his morals, took the hard way, saved the world and maybe he didn't get proper thanks from anybody... But walked away with his life.
Final Party was:
Ramza (Monk + Two Swords)
Orlandu
Ninja (+ Samurai)
Wizard (+ Priest)
Summoner (+ Time Mage)
Also, on a final note... Delita is a bitch. 🫵
Ok a second final note... I'll try now the PSP version to see which one I prefer.
Final time: 40 hours approx

FFTA2 A2 with only monsters
I have no idea how to make a ROM hack, but I wish I could make one for A2 with only monsters. It's the only game in the series where you can't officially play as monsters or even with a hack
