When I left today, we had like five full Z-Rails of go-backs. The floor once again looks like a hurricane went through it. 2-3 people can barely get the recovery and go backs done on a regular slow day but today… man it was worse than Black Friday. There was 10 people in line at all times throughout the day so profits must‘ve high so I’m sure y'all can afford a few extra people.

Did anyone else’s Kohls store get crazy busy during this clearance sale. Monday wasn’t so crazy for us but Tuesday and Wednesday were so crazy busy we had so many people with carts jammed packed with items and we didn’t leave until 10:30pm. Many customers mentioned that they were here because the heard it all over tiktok. Anyone else?

Walked into nearly 200 bopus, 400 SFs, dozen boxes of BOSS (from yesterday) and I’m the only one in Omni for 7 hrs.
Oh plus a dock full of freight, 7 rails of code 5s, and a gazillion Amazon to load onto a trailer.
But hey we need to get loyalty conversion and a perfect recovery with a skeleton crew.

• Updated even exchange system
I hate that it only allows you to scan physical receipts. I know that you’re supposed to enter the long ass receipt ID when possible, but tbh, nobody has time for that and I just hit non-receipted. I wish it was the same as returns where the customer can enter their number/email/card
• Making the merch dispo. tags automatically ring up as half off just like clearance stickers do during the gold star events!!!! I feel like im racing the customer to adjust the price before they complain about it not being half off 😭
• Being able to see the price of individual items after the discounts on the register/pinpads 🫠🫠 ofc I just calculate it for the customer whenever they want to see how much the discount took off of a specific item but it would help if the only way to see it wasn’t by the receipt after the transaction is already finished
• Being able to see the balance for payments
I know that there’s a hack where you enter an absurdly large amount and you will get a pop up saying “you can’t make a payment past X amount” (the X usually being the balance) but I’ve definitely seen that have its inaccuracies
If there’s anything I’m missing lmk!!!

Hey everyone. I made the last two posts about being forced to do cleaning shifts as a WJM lead. Today I was sent home for refusing. I spoke with my manager on the phone today and she told me not to come in if I’m not going to do it. So I’m thinking about just quitting in general. I’m curious, though, if there’s any benefit to going to HR about this, or if I should just pack it up.

I have been pulling my hair out to figure out why every return I try to do from my online orders is declined "unable to process refund" and other similar phrases. I had been using the barcode within the app for the receipt, always within 30 days, all tags still on, etc (Skip below to see solution if desired).
No cashier or manager could tell me why. First they said maybe I paid with an expired card (no). Today they told me to call my credit card to see if there's a block on it. So got out of line, waited on the phone 10 minutes for them to say no issues, then stood back in line for 30 minutes for them to say sorry it'll have to be store credit. Finally I decided to see if I still had the email from placing the order and scrolled to find the barcode and voila, worked fine. So for some reason that barcode within the orders in the app is having issues, at least for me but it was across various orders and barcodes. I will now be saving all my emails. Figured I'd make a post in case anyone else comes across the same issue

so obvious that this company is desperate as fck for sales. if you can’t even afford the hours to schedule enough ppl to handle the ransack that this sale breeds, then stop trying. it’s so funny watching these stores hang on for dear life. only reason i don’t leave is bc i only work like 3 days a week easy shifts. no reason to be proud of working here it’s actually quite embarrassing. these stores need to accept their defeat instead of mistreating employees and in turn diminishing the guest experience. that’s my ted talk bye

So I was trying to transfer stores, I couldn’t. So I am staying at my store. I told them about this and so I couldn’t come in after moving and trying to change stores (that whole process was a shit show in itself). I came back after over a month gone. I have a meeting with the SM and I find out I have been changed to a kohls Sales Associate. She said something about affecting someone in the Sephora. But that I could Maybe just maybe earn my way back to being in Sephora, but no guarantee.
Is this allowed? Is this normal?

3 weeks ago my grandmother passed away in a terrible freak accident. I continued attempting to go into work but they had to repeatedly send me home because I couldn’t stop hyperventilating and crying. I asked for bereavement for the wake, funeral, and other important aspects of her passing which would be happening in another state. I was never told that there was only a certain number of days that I could take. I realized that I needed a few more days than I thought because I would not have a way to get back to the state I work in on time. I told my ASM about it and she told me to fill out the open shift forms as a courtesy but that they would fill my shifts for me as long as I left a note. I did both of those things. Apparently one of the shifts was not covered and they marked it as a no-call no-show. No one was even going to tell me about it but I asked about another issue and it came up. I was told that the only person having a problem with it is the store manager. I was also told that they counted the days that they had to send me home as my bereavement leave even though I did show up.
My store manager became the only person who creates the schedule about 2 months ago. Because he is upset with me, I was not put on the newest schedule. I did not receive any notice that this would be happening and would not have known there was even a problem if I hadn’t brought up other issues. I’m not sure what to do at this point.
Because this may also be important I feel I should add, I also had to take medical leave a few months ago that got extended multiple times due to surgical complications. I still have medical exemptions from parts of my job for about another month. The store manager has been acting differently towards me based on these things as well.

Just wondering how you guys handle amazon customers whos returns can’t be handled by Kohls. I had two yesterday during the goldstar+40% and both got upset with me, then asked where the locations were to drop their package off (i don’t live in this town and i feel like that isn’t my job to know either) or am i in the wrong 😭?

Im moving out of state for college and I spoke with my manager about a transfer to a store over there. I talked to that store and both my and their manager spoke and I was told the transfer was approved. I filled out my paper of my schedule and when I could start but I haven’t been put on the schedule for either store. I was “supposed” to start at the new store on the week of 7/14. I tried talking to my manager that helped me but i just can’t get ahold of her, i called the new store and can’t get ahold of their manager either. When i call the employees say they’ll leave an email but i never get a call back. Do i just wait to get my schedule or how does that work?

When I quit, what will happen to my benefits? My 401k, hsa, and health insurance? Just want to make sure I don’t screw myself over

Odd place to most this, but has anyone heard the song that goes "live it up, live it up, oh oh oh" or like ah-ah-ah, at the end? I cant find it for the life of me and I desperately want to know what song it is.
Thanks!

My people who work in shoes, how many trash cans do you have on the floor? We only have two and I think it would be good to have more scattered about. I have seen other stores have some small ones that go on the bottom shelf of the doghouses but I don't have space for those. Just want to try and get more tall ones.

It’s so draining with non stop customers.. sometimes I need to step away for 5 mins and take a deep breath and close my eyes.
We should be allowed an extra 15 mins break..

i did an interview with kohls and was rejected. i received a call from the store telling me it was a mistake and to hang tight while things get fixed. its been a week and i called the store and someone else told me to email kohls but its just an automated response. Has this happened to anyone else?

To all workers, good luck today during a gold star with a 40% on top of it.
Not only will people probably be nuts, but those who bought yesterday will be wanting to return/rebuy.
May the angels be with us.

Important note that I hardly ever go into Kohl’s but on rare occasion I do, I use my moms account. So I went to self check out and there was a lady before me that walked away to use the register with her friend. When I got there I noticed there was a bunch of kohls cash offers but no items scanned so I ignored it and started scanning. Once I was done, I checked off the kohls cash offers and assumed if they weren’t mine it wouldn’t go through. Idk I just never thought of it being someone else’s account (my bad). I was also rushing bc the line was so long. Anyway, I walked out and when I got home I realized I used someone else’s account and kohls cash 😭 I genuinely feel so awful about it. What would yall do?
