Seasonal Start Mega Guide

This post is an update to the Seasonal Mega Guide.

You can find generic leveling guides as well as other advice at Maxroll and Icy Veins. For console players, you can find some advice at https://www.soulstone.gg/.

This guide is meant to be a little more specific, as well as cover aspects not touched in those guides, such as Group Leveling, Console Leveling, Seasonal Leveling Tactics, and Leveling Secrets. (These will all be in replies to this thread to allow specific linking. As such, at the moment this post is currently a work in progress.) Some of what I post will be shared from the above sites, amended to add a little extra efficiency.

S39 – Haedrig's Gifts

Season 39 starts this coming Friday, June 26th, 2026. The season starts at 5pm PDT for all console players, no matter where you live. For PC (NA/US) the season starts at 5pm PDT, for PC (EU) the season starts at 5pm CEST, and for PC (TW/KR) it starts at 5pm KST.

This is the first of four guides I am posting for Season 39. The others are:

For most players, after leveling to 70, the main focus will be finishing Chapters I through IV of the season journey in order to obtain a full 6-piece armor set known as Haedrig's Gift.

The Haedrig's Gifts for Season 39 are as follows:

  • Barbarian: Wrath of the Wastes
  • Crusader: Roland’s Legacy
  • Demon Hunter: Unhallowed Essence
  • Monk: Raiment of a Thousand Storms
  • Necromancer: Bones of Rathma
  • Witch Doctor: Helltooth Harness
  • Wizard: Tal Rasha’s Elements

From a casual perspective, and looking at the GR20 / Torment IV requirements to finish out the 6-piece set, this is a very easy list for everyone except the necromancer.

The necromancer will probably be better off equipping any random legendaries and leveling up the LoD gem to beat GR20. Necromancers can boost this by upgrading scythes or two-handed scythes and filling their weapon and bonus cube slots with generic multipliers and dominate that way. So, don't feel bad at all for them.

In terms of top adjusted clear ranking from Season 33 (see the "Extra Cube" column), the necromancer has the strongest endgame build for its Haedrig's Gift. Wizard is still in the top 10, followed closely by witch doctor and monk. The only gifts that fall outside the upper half of rankings are barbarian and crusader, but can easily pivot to a different build to push with. Here is a full list of their rankings: Necro Rathma (1), Wizard Tal Rasha (10), WD Helltooth (14), Monk Raiment (16), DH Unhallowed (21), Barb Wastes (24), Crusader Roland (33).

Top-ten push builds (again, in terms of you adjusted clear rank) from Season 33 that aren't on the list of usual suspects are: Barb MotE, Necro Masquerade, Necro Inarius. The necromancers get the gains of the generic multipliers I mentioned previously. I am actually not certain why Might of the Earth is so strong.

Note that the casual leaderboard and in-game leaderboards were contaminated by the busted end of Season 33, and shouldn't be relied upon. Here is the disclaimer on the casual board:

The leaderboard data for season 33 is heavily skewed: After the season accidentally ended early and the following rollback, some people ended up with their non-seasonal paragon points on their seasonal character, while the character would still show their seasonal paragon. Consequently, many adjusted clear values are inflated.

The barbarian (Wastes) and demon hunter (Unhallowed) both start with very good solo speed farming sets. Tal Rasha is also decent for the wizard with the in-geom or aether walker variant. The other classes will want to look to a different set (or no set) to farm with.

For a beginner/casual overall I would recommend the barbarian. The Wastes set gives you a great start, and is an excellent speed farmer. It only needs the Ambo's Pride mighty weapon and the Lamentation belt to really get going, and both can be cubed.

Good luck with your season start, fellow Nephalem, and never forget that town is lava!

QUESTION Making Gold?

I'm getting back into the game, it's been a minute. Got it when it came out, played it for well over a decade. Are there any new veteran secrets for getting gold fast? I'm going broke combining my massive stash of gems

QUESTION How often does this game go on sale for consoles?

I recently got a Switch 2 and this seems like a fun travel game.

It's still $59.99 on the Eshop, but if it regularly goes on sale for $10~20 I don't mind waiting a few months to pick it up.

The physical verison sealed is only like $30 on Ebay with a ton of sellers, so I will just buy that if Blizzard never puts their console games on sale.

Desinstalei o Jogo

QUESTION Demonhunter: Vallas Bequest + Echoing Fury?

Hey guys,

a group looked for a zDH today and i wanted to join and they asked whether i have that combo. i wasnt fast enough to answer before the group disassembled, but now I ask myself, why they requested it.

I run the standard Odysseys End - Entangling Shot - GoD Combo (with Buriza as season special slot and Yangs Recurve as Mainhand) and now i wonder, why the requested combo should yield a damage advantage?

Does "strafe projectiles pierce" include the extra shots from your GoD triggered primaries as well? Did i understand them wrong? They asked for "valla wep". no clue what that means, but since there is only one valla item ingame, what else could they have meant?

QUESTION ELI5 - General Help With Builds

Hey gang!

My wife and I recently came back to Diablo 3 after several years. We had originally tried to play it when we first started dating and didn't get very far in co-op. This time though, we finished Story Mode and have now moved on to Adventure Mode!

I want to get the most out of the game, especially because my partner has expressed a great enthusiasm for playing together and it's been a really amazing way for us to bond. Can anyone help me better understand how to build our characters effectively? I think our stats are way low for where we are, but I'm not sure what to prioritize beyond looking for legendary or set items. I'm hoping since I'm asking kindly and with the intention of sharing this with my partner, I can avoid responses to "Google it", please. I would value just a general breakdown or even if you can just point me towards a link or video series per class that you have used to build your characters.

For reference, we play on the Switch. I am a Paragon level 17 Wizard and she is a Barbarian.

NECRO CDR help

My Necromancer is equipped with 5 pieces of Rathma's, 2 of Captain Crimson's, both of Jesseth, Bonds of C'Lena, Squirt's Necklace, Krysbin's Sentence and CoE. Right now running GR 48 with T10.

When I cast AotD, the whole screen gets cleared, nothing leaves behind to cast Command Skeleton which reduces the Cool Down fast.

What is the solution for this? Please help.

QUESTION When does temporary damage bonuses apply on delayed attacks?

When casting delayed attacks such as DH Spike Trap or Armor of Akkhan 4-piece bonus, does the current damage bonus apply when I cast it or when it's triggered?

Like, if I cast Spike Trap, do have to stand in an Oculus Ring circle while casting it or can I move into the ring just before triggering the explosion?

WIZARD My favorite thing about diablo 3 is the wizard

I went into Diablo III with pretty low expectations. I mostly play RPGs for the story and characters, so I assumed I'd just finish the campaign and move on.

I'm almost done now, and the biggest surprise wasn't the gameplay—it was the Wizard.

I genuinely think the Wizard is one of my favorite player characters in gaming now. He's not edgy or trying too hard to be badass. He's just absurdly confident, like supremely confident (and rightfully so in my opinion) and the game actually backs it up. Every line sounds like someone who knows they're the strongest person, especially since I'm used to my characters even after beating everyone staying painfully humble. There's no fake humility, no constant self-doubt. He just walks into impossible situations and treats them like another day at work.

It also helps that the voice acting sells it perfectly. By the time you're taking on Diablo himself, that confidence feels earned instead of arrogant.

The story is more linear than I'd usually like (I definitely miss having choices like in Dragon Age or Mass Effect), but I didn't expect to enjoy the protagonist this much.

I really never have thought i would find such a cool character in a diablo game (no offense).

I'm currently in Act 5 and I'm really curious of his fate after i beat the shitt of this angel of death.

Anyone else end up liking the Wizard way more than they expected?

Speed Run Build

Good Morning everyone,

I am looking for the best "I wanna clear things super fast." Portals, Neph Rifts, the like but super fast. I googled and saw Barb and DH were in the top. But have seen Monk/Crusader are actually the best. I just want to blow through portals and such to farm things.

Thanks

QUESTION With a little help from my friends

Hey everyone,

I’m having a really rough time with RNG latel, not a single useful Primal has dropped, and farming solo feels incredibly slow right now.

I’m looking for someone on the EU servers who wouldn't mind carrying me through a few high Greater Rifts to boost my Paragon levels and hopefully get some decent loot rolling. I play a Trag'Oul Necro.

If anyone has some spare time to help a fellow player out, I’d appreciate it a lot.

Death Nova ideal attack speed

Any one know how many attack speed rolls I need for optimal Trag’oul Death Nova pushing?

I started off following a guide advocating 3 rolls but then spotted a bunch of people on leaderboards with way less than this, who seem to favour Area Damage.

I notice that with just one IAS roll on Krysbin ring my attack speed feels good and lively as soon as I hit frenzy shrine buff (from altar potion buff)

What is the right number of IAS gear rolls / target sheet attacks per second in town (unbuffed)?

Thanks
