I'm stoked and want to start practicing telling child friendly stories. Having a plot generator seems like a fun way to do it.

Lesson: The main character needs to learn that...

1. Asking for help is a strength, not a failure.
2. Listening carefully can help everyone feel understood.
3. A changed plan can still lead to something enjoyable.

Problem: The lesson becomes necessary when...

1. Two friends both want to play the same role, but there is only one costume for it.
2. The character’s carefully constructed project falls apart moments before it is time to present it.
3. Rain cancels an outdoor activity the character has been eagerly planning.

First Try: At first, the character...

1. Hides the mistake, allowing the confusion around it to grow.
2. Tries to handle everything alone and becomes overwhelmed.
3. Insists on following the original plan, even though it no longer works.

Discovery: The character begins to understand a better approach when...

1. A friend asks a simple question that reveals something the character overlooked.
2. The character notices someone else solving a smaller version of the same problem.
3. Some unused materials suggest a new possibility that wasn’t part of the original plan.

Try Again: The character puts the lesson into action when...

1. They honestly explain what happened, apologize, and help repair the damage.
2. They divide the task into smaller jobs so everyone can help solve the problem.
3. They adapt the goal, create a new plan, and/or help someone else handle a similar disappointment.

Their carefully constructed project falls apart moments before it's time to present! At first, they try to repair everything alone, but they become overwhelmed and make little progress.

Then they notice another group solving a smaller problem by working together. The character asks others for help and divides the repairs into manageable jobs. Together, they rebuild the project in time for the presentation.

Although the finished project looks different from the original, the character is proud of what everyone accomplished together.
