Dura 🚴‍♂️ Coros Dura - Coming from Garmin, it has so far rather been disappointing

I come from the Garmin Edge Explore 2 and was very looking forward to the Coros Dura which I received today. However, the first impression so far has been rather disappointing:

  • Route syncing from Komoot seems to be a major pain in the ass. I did some small adjustments to a route in Komoot which after half an hour still don't show up on the Dura. There is also no possibility in the app to force a new sync with Komoot. Apparently this issue has been existing for at least 2 years, see also this Reddit thread.
  • In addition, some routes don't sync at all and I get the error message "bluetooth sync failed". I wonder if it is related to the Dura not finding some singletrails as its map material is based on Google Maps?
  • No possibility to show 'Distance remaining', 'Elevation remaining' or 'Time remaining' on the activity data pages. Has also been requested already.

All these issues are software related and could be fixed in an update. However, seeing that some of those issues date back more than 2 years, I am not convinced that they will ever be fixed.

At least for the syncing issue, I've found a workaround by downloading the GPX file in the Komoot App and send it to the Coros App and then sync it with the Dura. But this shouldn't be the solution. On the Garmin, new routes planned in Komoot automatically show up on the Explore 2. Even if the syncing worked, you'd need to sync each route individually and manually.

Just sharing this as the Dura is currently a 'hot piece' due to its long battery life. Unfortunately, it does come with some significant drawbacks.

Question ❓ Will COROS Training Hub be getting a major update anytime soon?

I've been using the COROS ecosystem for a while and I'm really happy with the watches themselves, but I feel like Training Hub is starting to lag behind other platforms.

It works well for the basics, but I'd love to see improvements such as:

  • More advanced training analytics and trends
  • Better data visualization
  • Improved workout and training plan management
  • More customization options for dashboards and metrics
  • Additional insights comparable to Garmin Connect, Intervals.icu, or TrainingPeaks

Has COROS mentioned any plans for a significant update or redesign of Training Hub? Are there any rumors, beta features, or announcements that I may have missed?

I'd also be interested to hear what features other users would most like to see.

Thanks!

Question ❓ Coros HR Band

Upvotes

I’ve been using the arm band monitor for a while now with my Garmin with no issues. Recently got a Pace 4 and it constantly drops and I’ll have 7 sections within a run where the heart rate chart drops all the way down and when I look at my watch it won’t even display a heart rate. How is it that the monitor works better with a different brand watch than it does within the same ecosystem?

Question ❓ Hevy (weight training app) users - how are you using your Coros watch during your lifting?

I have an Apex 4

I've searched Hevy before and wondering if has been updated.

I came from Apple Watch Ultra. Hevy integration was AWESOME via a direct app.

I don't want to transcribe data into Coros or out of Coros.

Is there a generic way to just start a workout where I don't have to prepopulate all my reps so it can capture heart rate?

Not sure how coros would get it to work but man would I love some kind of workflow to work with Hevy.

Runna or Coros Molly Seidel?

I wanted to start a 15-week Runna marathon training plan aiming for a sub-3h50 finish after my trail running season, but I realised I needed to recover first. So I’m going to follow a 12-week plan instead. I’m torn between Runna and Molly Seidel’s 12-week marathon plan. Any advice?

How to add a pin

I have a Nomad, but I doubt this issue is model-specific.

Seems like the only way to add a pin is during an activity, using the watch or the phone app via extender. Basically you can only add a pin when you are AT the location you wish to save.

I’m looking for a way to add a pin ahead of time, to a location I know and want to reference or navigate to in the future. Importing a gpx full of pins/waypoints would be great, but this doesn’t seem to be available unless they’re part of route, and even then it’s not obvious how to convert a waypoint into a pin.

There is a handy function on the watch that enables you to pull up your (favorited) pins and navigate to one, without needing to already be navigating on a predefined route. This is great because I often don’t need turn by turn directions for an entire day’s activity, but will sometimes need to make sure I find a specific important location along the way.

dead pace 3 update

Weeks ago, the update caused my watch to break.
They successfully replaced my watch after it got damaged due to the update.
Communication was a bit complicated, but after 2 weeks of back‑and‑forth, the replacement watch arrived.
I have a genuinely positive opinion of the support team’s attitude — they were kind and helpful.
Good job r/coros

Question ❓ Is it worth waiting for Customer support or should I just move on?

My watch recently shit the bed after the update. I previously had no issues with it and have enjoyed using it. It is out of warranty by 4 months. I created a ticket with customer support 3 days ago and have gotten radio silence.

I’m deep into training for a 50 miler coming up in September. My watch is obviously a huge tool in my training so I need to get it replaced soon. I’m looking for experience/opinions on Coros Customer Service’s ability to get this situation resolved one way or another in a reasonable time (1-2 weeks AT MOST)

Is it worth waiting or should I abandon ship?

Switched over from garmin. Love it so far, was of you can edit the date inside the watch face? So here I have time, steps,HR, and I’m guessing elevation on the bottom? Can I change the steps to miles and elevation to kcal burned ? That was a garmin feature I loved and was until confused on coros

HR a band question

I have been running and use my Apple Watch. I bought the Coros HR arm band and I think I set it up properly - but how can I tell that it’s pulling my HR data from the arm band and not my Apple Watch?

Barometer and temperature stuck

Since a few days, my barometer and my thermometer are stucks (e.g. do not change).

They can have surprising values (see the picture, -160C...). I've tried restarting the watch and reset to factory setting, it is now stuck at 25C and "sea-level" pressure.

I realized that during a trail run this week where all the barometer based informations where not accurate. climb guidance was not updating, effort pace was equal to the pace, ...

Had you experimented such problem? Had you found a fix or is this "broken". The watch is still under guarantee (it is fun, I bought a pace 4 after the barometer of my forerunner died after 7 years of usage, the pace 4 one last for 7 months)

I opened a ticket on support, but I do have no answer yet.

According to my activites, the 10 of july, I had barometer, the 12 I had not. I remember doing a minor update around that, I don't know if that's related. I've tried updating to august beta and it did not fix it.

Question ❓ Bluetooth connection failed - AirHRM App via iPhone

I just found out about an iPhone App that uses the HR data from the apple airpods pro 3 using the iPhone as an intermediary, broadcasting heart rate as a standard BLE sensor. (Connect Your AirPods Pro 3 to a Garmin Edge, Wahoo ELEMNT, Peloton, or Any Other BLE Fitness Device | by Dominik Maglia | Medium)

This works well so far, the app is showing me the current heart rate measured by the headphone and when i search for new bluethooth devices on my coros pace pro it actually shows the name of that.

But when trying to connect i run in the the "connection failed" screen, i tried to repeat the step a few times but was not yet able to connect it.

Do you know what i might do wrong here?

Is my Apex 2 Pro dying?

hi,

yesterday evening I charged my watch to 100%

this morning no problem as usual until the screen displays the number "4" on the top of the screen. If I scrolled the wheel, I could watch the daily data and I also could navigate in the menu

weird... so I restart the watch

and boom, QR code for pairing the watch with my phone

I couldn't manage to pair it again

I deleted the watch in the bluetooth settings of my iPhone, I deleted the watch from the Coros mobile app, I deleted the Coros mobile app from my phone

still couldn't manage to pair it

I tried to pair without the QR code with no luck

long press on the bottom button and the screen showed "Coros recovery..." but no more luck to pair the watch

what can I do to get back my watch?

Wrong D+ in planner

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hello,

Just wondering how the app can be so wrong on every route I plot.

This route has around 700m D+ and shows 2324m... D- is correct.

While writing this post, i realized this could be 2324 ft but shows as meters ?? Some routes show correct elevation gain though so idk...

Question ❓ Imported Wahoo activities don’t update COROS daily activity correctly?

Hi everyone,
I’m trying to understand if this is expected behavior or if something is wrong with my setup.

I record all my rides with a Wahoo ELEMNT paired to a Wahoo heart rate strap, and the activities are automatically synced to my COROS account. I also wear my COROS Pace Pro during the entire ride, but I don’t start a workout on the watch.

The imported activity itself looks perfect in the COROS app:

Ride duration: 2:08:17
Calories: 1,317 kcal
Training Load: 256 TL
All power and heart rate data are there.
However, my Daily Activity is completely different:
Only 7 active minutes
834 calories burned for the entire day

The ride is clearly imported and even contributes to EvoLab/Training Load, but it doesn’t seem to update my daily activity metrics.

Is this the expected behavior with imported FIT files from Wahoo, or should the daily activity (active minutes and daily calories) also reflect the imported ride?

Has anyone else experienced this?

Dura 🚴‍♂️ Activity Sync Issue

Thumbnail
gallery
1 Upvotes

Just recently did the update to “fix” activity syncing…well it didn’t work. Rode a 22 mile route as shown on my Dura. Uploaded once home and it shows my ride just says I went 0.0 miles while Strava says 20. It also cut my ride short. I did not end the ride where the app/Strava says…what’s up with that?!

Will there be a fix to this @Coros?

Considering a Coros Nomad after my Garmin Instinct 2 died

I've been using a Garmin Instinct 2 for the last three years and, overall, I was really happy with it.

Unfortunately, a few weeks ago the battery swelled and ended up damaging the motherboard, so the watch is basically dead and not repairable anymore.

Now I'm looking at the Coros Nomad, and on paper it seems like a fantastic watch. However, my biggest concern is the durability of the scroll wheel button. Is it something that can fail unexpectedly?

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I wish Coros would come out with fun colors again

Still rockin' a pace 2 until Coros comes out with some fun colors for either the pace or apex. Pretty disappointed by the white and black offerings. The old pace 2 and apex 2 came in unique colors.
