I come from the Garmin Edge Explore 2 and was very looking forward to the Coros Dura which I received today. However, the first impression so far has been rather disappointing:
- Route syncing from Komoot seems to be a major pain in the ass. I did some small adjustments to a route in Komoot which after half an hour still don't show up on the Dura. There is also no possibility in the app to force a new sync with Komoot. Apparently this issue has been existing for at least 2 years, see also this Reddit thread.
- In addition, some routes don't sync at all and I get the error message "bluetooth sync failed". I wonder if it is related to the Dura not finding some singletrails as its map material is based on Google Maps?
- No possibility to show 'Distance remaining', 'Elevation remaining' or 'Time remaining' on the activity data pages. Has also been requested already.
All these issues are software related and could be fixed in an update. However, seeing that some of those issues date back more than 2 years, I am not convinced that they will ever be fixed.
At least for the syncing issue, I've found a workaround by downloading the GPX file in the Komoot App and send it to the Coros App and then sync it with the Dura. But this shouldn't be the solution. On the Garmin, new routes planned in Komoot automatically show up on the Explore 2. Even if the syncing worked, you'd need to sync each route individually and manually.
Just sharing this as the Dura is currently a 'hot piece' due to its long battery life. Unfortunately, it does come with some significant drawbacks.
