2 brilliants by my opponent, one by me, and a tricky rook move that is an innacuracy although my opponent didn't punish me for it and it led to me winning the game 💪🏼

My opponent could have taken my rook, or queen, in the innacuracy move, but both captures wouldn't have been the best move for him, and thankfully at this elo he missed the winning move.

Also if he took my queen I had mate in 2. So one could argue that it's a technical 4th brilliant at this elo 😂

Finally finishing with a question, if you're 1000 rapid, should you be expected to be higher than 650 blitz?

I have meticulously written down every single golden rule of Grandmasters and advanced concepts from your content. However, when I actually sit down to play my games, my brain completely freezes. I do not remember the rules, and it feels like my brain actively resists applying them. Additionally, I face a huge psychological barrier. Whenever I am paired against older opponents who are 17 or 18 years old, I get incredibly nervous, which causes my game to fall apart. Could you please make a video or give me your personal advice on these two major issues? Why can I write down and understand these advanced rules but fail to remember or apply them in real-time games? How can I overcome the anxiety of playing against older, more intimidating opponents?

A little kid challenged me to play chess. I accepted the challenge. I wanna beat kids! I mean at chess. Anyway, he defeated me once and I beat him twice. I took a picture from one of our games. When I asked about his rating, he said around 1600-ish.

After the Qxd8 it is slightly better to recapture with the king and give up castling rights but the fatal error is coming forward with the King in an attempt to prevent the fork in c7. Rb8 is the only move.

The results of a weekend event I played in have been submitted and I now have my initial provisional USCF rating: 1215. This'll be my second-to-last update on the subject; I'll make one more post after my two games from the beginning of the month get officially logged.

I've been playing on Chess.com for about a year and have played around 7,500 games. My current ratings are 1558 Bullet, 1323 Rapid, and 1299 Blitz(Also my peak ratings are 1307 Blitz, 1338 Rapid, 1724 Bullet). I mainly want to improve my Rapid rating and eventually reach 1600–1800. With Black, against 1.e4 I almost always play the Scandinavian Defense, and against 1.d4 I usually just play a simple setup . With White, I mostly play either the Scotch Game or the Italian Game. I don't really have a structured study routine , I mostly play games and analyze some of them afterward. What should I focus on to improve? Should I spend more time on tactics, endgames, opening theory, or game analysis? Are my opening choices good enough for long-term improvement, or would you recommend switching to something else? Any advice, study plan, or resources for someone around the 1300 Rapid level would be greatly appreciated.

... because most people even up to 1200 don't know their endgames. They are used to opponents resigning quite early if they are behind.

I blundered the queen early and my pieces got picked off one by one. In the end I was cornered but the opponent for some reason did not see the obvious checkmate Qg7 and instead moved the knight (to be honest, it seems extremely obvious now in this screenshot but I also did not see it in the game lol). Then it was my time to shine, Rf1 and the opponent is forced to take it, resulting in a draw.
