Has anyone else ever watched this quite a blast from the past for me was a keen fisherman as a teen would love to start again but so exp.But I fondly remember watching this for tips etc and used to collect I think it was called Angler? Lol used to love night fishing as a teen too.

I loved these. Particularly the first one. Barbara Flynn and James Bolam had such chemistry and the dialogue is just so superb throughout. What a writer Alan Plater was. They seemed to get every casting choice correct. Wondered if there were other fans on here?

Also to be self indulgent it features possibly my favourite line of dialogue ever.

(over a loudspeaker attached to his car) 'Vote for Jill Swinburne, people. A vote for Swinburne is a vote for freedom. What's more she's terrific in bed.'

'Give that here you pillock, you may have lost me the election.'

'I may have won you the election.'

For me, it’s probably Josh, because I like Josh Widdicombe and Elis James, so I really wanted to enjoy it. The first episode gave me a lot of hope, but after that, it just never really grabbed me.

What British sitcom started strong for you, then quickly became disappointing?

I like the little girl who is asked to go and get a Boots bag, and comes back with a plastic carrier. She is really young, has no front teeth, pigtails and glasses. But she is really cute.
The other one I liked was the girl in a supermarket who was asked to return a trolley and tried to keep the pound when she locked it. She was acting like a boss.
Who is your favourite or sticks in your mind for some reason?

I remember this vividly, as an eager quiz show fan when I was growing up. Aged 7, I genuinely thought, in response to a primary school assembly and secretly thinking my headteacher was wrong, that Alexander Armstrong was the first man to walk on the moon.

There are some obvious examples of British TV celeb mix-ups - Gabby Logan and Gaby Roslin is a frequent one. I also used to get Jimmy Carr and Jim Carrey mixed up.

What did you think about the case last night on the death of Joanne Samak Droitwich?

It’s seemed to me like the police had a pretty one track mind toward the husband being the killer, but the evidence seemed very flimsy as presented in the show. The fact that he lied about details obviously is a big red flag, but I have some thoughts on what might have happened and why he could be innocent of murder.

I would love a Primeval reboot. Although it feels niche nowadays

When i was young i absolutely loved the show Primeval. It was basically ITV’s rival to Doctor Who during the David Tennent era. Although instead of Aliens it was dinosaurs, prehistoric animals and future creatures that travelled through anomalies in time.

It could be cheesy and the CGI is dated but i think it’s a good family show that kind of appeals to families in a similar way to Doctor who viewers. I mean everyone likes dinosaurs. So i think a reboot would be interesting with mainly fresh characters with a couple from the original.

The first three seasons were good but the last two were a bit crap so i would semi ignore the characters past season three. Also Helen Cutter was a brilliant villain and menace to society (my child self had beef with her) so i would not be shocked if she survived somehow

The first show was hosted from what looked like a living room with a girl and boy presenting, there was a neon logo light behind them. Aired around 2003/2004,

There were challenges throughout which didn't include the presenters, but were usually sports challenges with the boys team vs the girls team, such as who can do the most keepy uppys with a football, or arm wrestle challenges. This is all I remember, I think the male presenter was mixed race and female presenter was Caucasian.

The second game show aired around 2005/2006 and was studio based, all I remember was it had two presenters, and a third who was oddly similar to the professor from the Ministry of Mayhem.

The final game of each episode was always a memory game, where contestants had to remember the most images from giant cubes.

Do either of these sound familiar to anyone?

Anyone recall a UK TV documentary, from the late noughties possibly looking at the lives of club entertainers including a children’s clown. At the end the clown rushes on to a stage at a kids party shouting “who’s the clown?” and the audience screams “you are!” Then the closing titles immediately fire up with the Beat’s track “Tears of a Clown”.

Best episode in my opinion is Best of Enemies.

British Comedies I need to watch

I saw a scene from this show on Facebook a few days ago, but I've lost it now.

It was two Scottish police officers, one of them was an Asian guy, stopping an American influencer who made food videos on the side of the road. and then the police officers decide to show her "traditional" Scottish food, which was really just takeaways.

I found it funny and wanted to watch more of the show, but I can't find it. Does anyone know what it was called?

Just watched the wrap up of the World Cup set to Sweet Child of Mine. They always nail it with the montages at the end of sporting tournaments. The Wimbledon one last weekend was decent too. Respect to the people who put these together, especially getting the final bits done minutes before they air

Is anyone watching these on Nowtv? They put seasons 1 and 2 out on DVD years ago and season 3-6 haven't aired for 20 years. I would love someone to fill in some plot holes for me. I have most of the episodes from Youtube, but am missing a couple critical ones like how the clifhanger at the end of season 2 resolves into season 3.

Anyone else remember it?

Definitely did/does exist, as I have the full first episode (1 of 10 filmed) downloaded, though I'm not the person who recorded or uploaded it.

The only footage currently accessible online to the public is:

• aforementioned full episode on Dailymotion (E01/the pilot)
• a trailer for E02 on Youtube, and
• a few backstage interviews with the two hosts (the Irish popstar Brian McFadden & the English presenter Laura Jackson) also on Youtube.

Apart from that, all that remains of this programme is an empty IMDB page and a few promo stills, plus an unused Twitter/X account, a recent TikTok from a female contestant, and a handful of scathing newspaper & magazine reviews explaining perhaps why it was not syndicated, nor renewed or spoken much of again after 2014/the 2010s.

It was a very campy, crass and raunchy (i.e. typically late-night weekend Channel 5/Channel 4) take on other dating shows popular during this era, in particular Take Me Out. And it proved a bit too much even for the Hun contingent of Britain to stomach. Lots of end-of-the-pier and dirty humour or scenarios on show. Everyone came out of it looking cheap, desperate and a bit foolish.

Apparently, barely anyone watched it or liked it, as it had little hype or fanfare, even coming as it did during the peak of the social media boom.

EDIT: solved!! Turns out it was a film called G:MT Greenwich Mean Time, released in 1999... I was way off, haha.

I remember watching a TV film many years ago, around the turn of the century. Maybe a year or two later.

I think it was called "ESP", but I'm not certain. It had nothing to do with extra sensory perception, which is why I'm not sure.

It was a coming of age drama about a group of friends who go their separate ways as they become adults.

One lad had a clingy girlfriend, but he wanted to keep things casual. Then he got into a car accident or something, ended up in a wheel chair and suddenly wanted to settle down with this girl. Who lost interest because of his disability.

Another lad got into drugs or something, tried to rob a bank with a shotgun and ended up committing suicide by cop.

I think it was on Channel 4, maybe Channel 5?

It really wasn't a very good film. Rather trite and predictable. But something about it has stuck in my head for the last quarter century, so I must've enjoyed it to some extent.

Because of its generic name, it's an absolute bitch to google, I can't find anything. Any help would be much appreciated. Ta.
