We're going to the IMAX this Saturday and would like to get a meal in town afterwards, however I have slightly complicated food intolerances due to a serious health issue, which makes eating out a bit trickier. I know multiple places in Leeds that are great at accommodating me, but I haven't tried eating out in Bradford yet and don't really know where to start!

The thing that makes it particularly tricky is that I can't have foods in the nightshade family of plants, such as tomatoes & chillies. Which are obviously used a lot in curries! I have an Indian restaurant in Leeds that makes me a nice meal that I can eat (shout out to Dastaan on Otley Road!), so it's not impossible to cater to me but it's definitely a bit more complicated than in some types of restaurant.

Obviously I'm aware Bradford has many other types of restaurants apart from curry houses, and I'm open to recommendations for all of those, but I do know my husband & daughter would love to get a curry!

I tend to find places at the slightly more "upmarket" end are usually better at accommodating me, although I'm not looking for "fine dining" and am open to basically wherever if I can trust them to take my dietary requirements seriously and they make tasty good quality food!

But I’d also like to have an idea of what people in general is missing out with meal prep companies. Also how much people would spend per meal. Could you’ll help and answer this for me?

I’m passionate about cooking have been meal prep for the last couple of years. I’de love to work for myself. I’m thinking about doing a monthly or weekly subscription service but I’d also like to keep it reasonable with the cost for people as well.

Anyone going to Bradford City Mela this August?

I’ve seen that it’s returning after years away and was wondering what people remember from the old Melas. What kind of food stalls, music, performances or community groups used to be there?

Also curious what people are expecting from it this year. Would be good to hear from anyone who went before or is planning to go.

Called my local taxi base in Bradford as needed to get to work, the base owner turned up, he drives a taxi on the side. I knew beforehand that he's the base owner as he's well known in the community.

Anyway we were talking about work and I told him I work for an agency so I work random days.

He suggested to me to get a taxi badge and work for his base and he bragged that "his drivers make a £1000 a week easy, upto £1500 a week with overtime and doing specific hours"

Obviously those wages don't include expenses such as car deprecation, maintenance, fuel and base rent. Lets say those expenses reduce the true pay by 25% that's still £750+ a week which beats my warehouse job where I'm paid £550 a week.

I know Taxi driving has a bad reputation in Bradford but with those wages you can't complain... Can someone confirm if those wages are real, looking for other Taxi drives to confirm?

and so it has finally come to pass that bradford and keighley will be included in an independent enquiry. I don’t care about politics but clearly this should have been the case years ago in order to close the grooming scandal off and move forward.

I am frankly terrified about what this is going to call out about the grooming and the lines from the grooming through the dodgy taxis/late night economy to the family/clan culture. I can see this setting the city back decades in terms of attracting investment.

is there any sense of when BL is going to crank up and start getting more decent performers? I have attended 3 piece hall gigs in the last fortnight and the buzz in Halifax is immense. The gigs there just bring so much cash into the local economy.

How come nothing has ever happened with the Rocks Off building, or at least the part where Rocks Off was. If memory serves me correctly, the letters are still in the window? I used to love going in there back in the 80s and scanning through all the comics and concert bootleg cassettes!!!

Work started on a centre in Bradford in June 1972. The 400,000 sq ft of shopping space included a replacement for the Kirkgate Market, 50 shops, three department stores and two pubs.

It cost more than £6 million to construct - a huge vote of confidence in the city.When it opened people queued up outside to be among the first to experience its air conditioned luxury.

There were fountains, escalators and even a wooden hippo for the children to play on (and in - thanks to a gaping mouth).

The Arndale Centres pioneered on-site restaurants (and pubs) and used the walkways to create displays such a Santa's grotto at Christmas.Car dealers were encouraged to show off their latest models and shoppers enjoyed the chance to browse for a new car without the pressure of a motor dealer showroom.

Not many people paid much attention to the ancient market cross at one of the entrances but that was all that remained of the original Kirkgate Market.

But the history stretches even further back to 1705 when it was occupied by a grand Manor Hall. The chapel was where the lifts are now, and the cemetery was close by (the deceased having long since moved to Bowling Cemetery.

Yes it died a painful death, but anyone else remember it when pre Internet shopping?

Argos and Index on the 1st floor, I got my ears pierced at the jewellers and EGS records outside.

For the last couple of years, I just used it as a lazy way to get from Kirkgate to Godwin Street without walking up hill.

Never in my wildest dreams would I have expected any opposition at all to the idea that maybe we should do something about the rotting meat smell that’s all over the city centre.

I am currently looking for a suitable, secure long-term spot to host a couple of honeybee hives this season. Because a site only needs to be roughly the size of a single car parking space, it requires very little room!

I’m looking for a quiet corner of a large garden, an allotment, a paddock, or a secure commercial yard where the bees can safely do their thing away from public paths.

How it works:

Zero work or cost for you: I supply, own, and entirely look after the bees and equipment myself. You just need to allow me access to check on them.

Safety First: Honeybees naturally fly straight up to navigate, so they stay well above head height. I can also put up screens to guide them safely upwards.
