This is the place for people to say what they have to say, and ask their questions. If you have (civil) feedback about the sub, thatโs welcome as well.
Be excellent to each other.

Hi.. My dream is to start a 3d animated studio for making realistic films and shortfilms (with reallife movie motion or movement, like watching a realistic movie) and is currently looking to learn 3d in BLENDER. I had finished the donut tutorial. I know that there are many other things to learn like HARD SURFACE AND ORGANIC MODELING, HUMAN MODELING, SCULPTING , HAIR AND CLOTHES SIMULATIONS, UV UNWRAPPING, TEXTURING, RIGGING, ANIMATIONS, ENVIRONMENTS, BACKGROUND CHARACTERS OR CROWD, VISUAL EFFECTS OR SIMULATIONS LIKE FIRE ,WATER, EXPLOSIONS, SMOKE, SUPERPOWERS LIKE IN MARVEL OR ANIME, LIGHTING, CAMERA, COMPOSITION, RENDERING.
โCAN U GIVE THE BEST TUTORIAL VIDEOS AND THEIR LINKS ON YOUTUBE FOR EACH ONE OF THE TOPICS (not channels , specific video tutorials) AND GIVE A LITTLE BIT OF ADVICES.. IT WOULD BE REALLY HELPFUL.. THANK U :)

Demo + Tutorial on how to use Blender MCP server with local open source models. They are not as powerful as the flagship models, but they are VERY fast. Simple technical operations like scene summary or batch processing certain properties just take between 3-10 seconds https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KPBlIuaS3A8

Hey all,
I've been building an MCP skill that connects Claude to Blender and an AI 3D generation API (Alpha3D, also works with Tripo and Meshy), so you can describe a scene and it'll generate the props and drop them straight into your open Blender file, scaled and placed automatically.
This isn't meant for hero assets or anything that needs real craft. It's aimed at the boring part: populating a blockout or background with generic trees, crates, cottages, whatever, without hand-placing dozens of assets one at a time.
Video attached, a small fantasy village getting populated from one description.
The skill itself is open source:ย https://github.com/ig-shadow-walker/BlenderXAlpha-3DGenSkill
Worth knowing upfront: the actual generation runs through whichever 3D API you connect (Alpha3D, Tripo, or Meshy), and those have their own credit costs, the skill just wires them into Blender.
Genuinelyย curiousย whatย modelersย think,ย especiallyย ifย there'sย aย smarterย wayย toย handleย scalingย andย placementย thanย whatย I'veย gotย rightย now.

Spent the last few months on this:
ProximityFlow drives real-time mesh effects based on how close a target object gets to your mesh. No keyframing, no node trees, no manual setup, move the object, the effect reacts live in the viewport.
Effects shown in the video:
- Proximity Masking : dissolve/reveal geometry
- Aesthetic Wireframe : proximity-driven wire grid
- Dynamic Displacement : procedural surface warping (Clouds/Marble/Wood/Musgrave)
- Proximity Growth : grow hair or instanced objects (flowers, crystals, grass)
- Variable Thickness + Material Coating : grow a shell with its own material as the target approaches
- Wave Effect : propagating surface waves, X/Y motion, cyclic loop
- Shatter Effect : fragment the mesh, proximity decides what breaks first.
Other stuff that's in there:
- Motion Path : attach the effector (the sphere in the video) to a curve so it animates itself
- Influence view : see the effect zone directly in paint mode
- One effector can drive multiple objects, or multiple effectors can drive one, however you want to set it up
- Free updates for life, works on Blender 3.6โ5.1.
Which effect would you actually reach for in your own work? Genuinely curious what people would use this for beyond what I've tried.
