I got a prescription for Macrobid, dicyclomine, and zofran. I take aurovela 1.3/30 everyday. I was pretty sure I need to wait to have sex until I finish the antibiotics. lol asked chat and it said that macrobid is not one to worry about but I looked at a drug interaction website and it said it may interact. My husband and I can live without sex for a week or so I’m just curious.

Hi all! I was previously on mercilon but stopped at the beginning of the year. Now i'm planning an upcoming trip and the dates fall right on when my period is expected to come so i was wondering if anyone has ever tried to time their cycle with one month of birth control or just to delay it in general using birth control. Any advice or warnings appreciated :)

I’m 19 and have just gotten into having sex with my boyfriend a few months ago.
We have used condoms every time and he doesn’t mind using them whatsoever. I on the other hand can find them to be a little annoying. lots of friction (not allergic but can be irritating)
We use lube, but we also kinda just jump into it, leaving out room for foreplay so I can be properly aroused and lubricated naturally - also likely aiding in the friction.

Anyways, i’ve been doing a LOT of research on types of birth controls/side effects/ benefits. My boyfriend doesn’t think i need to get on bc - as he’s fine with using a condom - but I think it would be a good thing to give me peace of mind about not getting pregnant despite using a condom or not.

Now my issue/ concern with this is that my hormones/ periods are very chill and super regular. I don’t suffer from hormonal acne (besides the normal amount leading up to shark week) , heavy bleeding, intense cramping, pcos, endometriosis or anything of the sort. I’m worried starting a bc would disrupt this or start something not needed.

Copper iuds have sparked my interest mostly but the paraguard just seems big and pointy asf, and the bleeding that comes with it makes me nervy… Do i just stick it out until the Miudella is readily available or take the chance with a hormonal bc.

(Mind you we’ve been dating for less than a year and while I love my bf dearly I don’t wanna mess up my hormones for something not yet concrete)

I’m 18f and getting on birth control to help regulate my period or at least try do something with it I vape and I’m getting really bad anxiety about blood clots but I’m terrified to tell my doctor I vape incase my parents find out or if I do and my doctor gives me some kind of mini pill (I’ve read that this is much better to use if you vape) that they’ll fine it suspicious since from what I’ve seen it’s usually only used for ppl who smoke/vape,have a family history of blood clots or risk of them or have migraines.Im terrified of them finding out but I’m also terrified of a blood clot I’m also really nervous about starting it because of gaining weight or being depressed (I’m very insecure of my weight and I’ve struggled with depression for many years but I’m not on any medications for it) pls if someone could help soothe my anxiety a bit or give me some advice because I want to tell my doctor I vape but I’m terrified

I had unprotected sex today while on my 8th day on birth control first pack first time taking BC EVER. I take combo pills but I’m scared if I was protected because I did have a bit of diarrhea on my second pill and forth pill was 6hrs late but I still took the pill that day , and iv been taking my pills at the same hour time window (10:00am-10:40am) but not a specific time.

I have heavy periods and tried taking Opill in the hopes that they would get lighter. They got slightly lighter but they also last for 10 days now instead of 7 and occur twice a month. I was just prescribed Larin 1/20 and I can't find a lot of information online despite it being (I think) pretty common.

I'm really sick of having a period and I just want it to stop or to at least be more manageable so I don't have to plan my life around it. Is Larin 1/20 likely to help with this or will it be like Opill where it makes things worse?

So I am quite new to birth control as I just started taking it about 2 days ago but over these last 2 days I have experienced quite a lot of bloating and I just wanted to know if other people have had bloating happen within the first day of starting birth control.

So me and my partner had sex, and pulled out both times and I am on the pill and I take it every night, could I be pregnant I’m just worried it’s only been about 4 days

So I’m on birth control and I usually just skip my periods but sometimes I just forget to take my pill and then start bleeding so I just wait until the bleeding stops to continue - usually around 6 days. This whole time, I thought that was a period. I’ve realised it’s breakthrough bleeding. I had no idea this even existed.

So my question is: I forgot to take my Monday pill, and took Monday and Tuesday pill on Tuesday morning. I’ve been spotting since Monday - if I continue my pill tomorrow (Thursday), will that be enough to stop this bleeding?! I’ve got a party on Saturday and I’d rather not worry about carrying tampons.

Do I have to wait the bleeding out like I usually do or should I just continue taking my pill? Thanks!

I’ve been on desogestrel 75mg since January. I have an appointment with my GP tomorrow morning because they want to do some blood pressure testing stuff, but this sub isn’t for medicla advice and stuff so. Not the point if this anyway.

I’m 15 (goijg onto 16 in December) and FTM. The idea of havinf a period is terrifying to me, I hate it, it makes me feel disgusting, and I literally believe that my depression has gotten better in the 6 months of no period. I’m on the pill because my periods used to cause me to puke whenever I ate (prompting me to avoid eating), have such bad cramps that I felt I physically couldn’t get out if bed or out of a chair, sweat so much, had really bad migraines that didn’t let me focus or anything and it actually made me do worse in school because I couldn’t concentrate or I just didn’t go in because it was that bad. I also had my period twice a month, both times heavy with minor clotting, and there was no investigation into why that happened, I was just put on the pill (very happy about btw, didn’t want to have to undergo an interrogation). Dysphoria not included.

My mum says they’re just doing a check-up, and that they’ve ordered for a new prescription within 24hrs (my last pill is tomorrow) which means I get a new refill on Friday. Was meant to collect it at the GP today, but they said I needed checkup first because it had been 6 months.

I haven’t had any side-effects aside from maybe being a little more sleepy, but as far as I’m aware, that isn’t bad. Like, not enough to warrant me stopping them, I think. I feel fine. I actually feel a lot better!! Happier, more physically active, more relaxed and my education is better because I’m not taking pointless days off per month because it felt impossible to even get out of bed some days.

Tbh I don’t even know, I’m just nervous and stressing about it because I seriously just don’t want to get off the pill. I also can’t explain about the FTM reason because my parents have said that I’d be kicked out and abandoned if I did anything like that so :/

TLDR; if my GP says, for whatever reason despite having no negative side-effects and feeling much better, that I can’t be on the pill or that I need a period, can I just take it and refuse to have a bleed? Does anyone have experience with this situation stuff or what?

Just a little positive thought I had as I thought about how much contraception changed my life.

I'm 25, I've always had really painful periods as you can imagine and in the last year I was experiencing episodes during and outside of periods that would put me to the floor crying unable to walk and force me to get out of work.

A doctor diagnosed me with endometriosis (and small ovary an cysts while we're at it) and prescribed the pill, which I never wanted to take because of all the side effects and risks and she wouldn't listen to me, made it seem like I was stupid for this choice.

I searched online and opted for the patch instead. I have not experienced cramps since, only mild pains during the first days of periods and that's it. I didn't get any side effects from the patch and it's just made all the pain go away. I'm so so grateful and happy for this and aware that I don't have the worse forms of endo compared with women who have to have surgery and all. Just sharing this in case someone out there is contemplating that contraception topic and unsure about it, this has been my experience :) love and health to all of you

I’ve been looking to start going on birth control but I’m just scared of everything that I’ve heard and seen from other people. I’ve heard people say they’ve gained up to 100 pounds because of it and they haven’t changed anything. I don’t wanna do the pill I’ve been thinking of the copper IUD or even the shot, but I’m worried about the side effects for the shot because I heard it could lead to tumors and just so much more. Is there any side effects with IUD? I should worry about or the copper IUD. My main thing is just like us the weight gain and then the hormone change. That’s why I’ve been considering the copper one because it’s hormone free.

I just got a copper IUD placed as an emergency contraceptive but should I still take a plan b? How do I know they put it in the right place?
I scheduled an ultrasound to make sure it’s in the right place but that won’t be for a while until I’m able to get seen, so am I supposed to just trust it?

I got the Liletta IUD inserted today and I ended up fine. What are some things to expect for the first few days or weeks?

I’m 22yo and i have taken Levlen Ed since i was 15yo, I have only ever had one break from Levlen and it was for about 3 months until i started to experience some hormonal acne.
I got back on Levlen and ran out three weeks ago and than was notified by my GP i can no longer take this pill, Has Slinda helped anyone’s hormonal acne? i’d like to prevent the post pill purge if possible.
Did slinda cause weight gain or any side affects??

I’ve been on birth control for over two years and haven’t been having my period (skip the last week of pills, continue with a new pack you know the drill). But I just got surprised with blood in the shower. This has never happened to me, and cramps are coming along with it. I haven’t missed any doses, so why is this happening if it’s never happened before? Should I be worried?

i’ve had the kyleena iud for about 2.5 years and i love it. i know i don’t have to replace it any time soon but i was randomly thinking about it

when i first got it placed i had spotting almost every day for about 2-3 months and it was pretty annoying. have had random spotting every once in a while ever since but generally nothing anymore. for people who had spotting in the beginning when they got their iud, did it return when you got it replaced? and if so was it just as long?

I am 9 months post partum and at 7 months decided to try the mini pill, as my period had returned and was regular again. Chose the mini pill because Im almost exclusively breastfeeding (period returned at 4 months) and also have migraines with combo pill (despite loving the combo pill 😭)

I hated it. I lost 10lbs in a week, terrible mood swings, sleeping badly, rage, etc.

Stopped taking it after the second to last pill in the cycle.

I missed my period entirely and now im almost to when my next period would start, but I have kept getting repeated positive Ovulation tests (apparently I've ovulate like 8 times this month), and not having any sign of my period returning.

Has anyone else experienced this? Does it eventually return? Will I ever stop having Ovulation cramps? 😅

Also to noge I HAVE taken several pregnancy tests (negative, also I dont feel pregnant at all) and been sure to use a barrier method since stopping the pill.

My period started about 2 days before my placebo pills last week and now I have 3 pills left, if I stop taking them now and skip to the next regular pills will my period stop?

so I recently threw up in the beginning of my pack of lo loestrin fe. I took a replacement on time and then continued with my pills normally every day at the same time. When I got to the white estrogen pills, I forgot that I had to take an extra active pill that I was short before taking the white estrogen pill. six hours after I realized that I was supposed to take an active pill I looked up what to do online and it said throw the pack out and take the first active pill of a new pack. So that’s what I did, corrected it the same day. i know this may sound a little dumb but i used chat gpt and with every detail it said that i was fine because i corrected at the same day so six hours wouldn’t drop my hormones. but today (the day after) I woke up with brown spotting randomly I don’t ever have this. especially when I just ended my full 5 day cycle a couple days ago before this happened. and yes, I have read the big paper that comes with my pack on all the instructions if a mistake were to happen but nothing matches my situation. And I don’t feel 100% ok trusting Google or chatgpt, that what I did was right and I don’t need a plan b or to take action in any way i may be at a risk for pregnancy. there’s also no way I could speak to my doctor without it being through my mom.

So I started Junel Fe 1/20 on June 20, and I skipped the placebo pills because I had a trip. I started the new pack on July 11, and on day 6 of the new pack I had really bad cramps and spotting, and I’m still experiencing it a week later. When it started, I shed a big piece of uterine lining, and it freaked me out.
Is it normal to bleed this far into a pack? And have bad cramps this often? I’ve been taking 1,950 mg of Tylenol for the pain (I’ve always had bad cramps, but they’ve never lasted this long). Aside from the cramps and bleeding, I haven’t had any other bad side effects, so I like this one compared to other pills that gave me mood swings. What’s your experience on Junel Fe? Should I stick to it and see if my body regulates itself, or give up and start a new pill?

I’m starting nexplanon in a month, and I’m excited because it’s going to help with my cramps that usually have me doubled over in pain. What are some side effects that are most common? I know there are things like periods stopping altogether and cramps getting worse, but what are the side effects that are the most common that I should be watching for?

So when I was 15 (18 now) my mom forced me on Nexplanon, and I tried to bargain and say I couldn’t touch moody do the pill or go back on the shot, but she said no because the shot put me in the hospital, and she told me I was too stupid to remember to take the pill

But I’m still in school and I was told by cops themselves I legally cannot move out until I graduate? It’s stupid idk. But I go in November to get it removed and replaced but I don’t want it replaced and I want something different, but I’m too scared to talk to my mom about it and it’s all I can think about now a days since November is coming.

And my boyfriend’s(17y/o) mom won’t let me stay or sleepover anymore if I’m on anything other than this birth control, and my own boyfriend has gotten mad/upset at me for bringing up me being on a different birth control, and I don’t want to break up, as we’ve been together for two years now.
