Hi,

I want to play Battlefield 4 on Steam with Proton on Linux. However, every 5 seconds or so in game, I get Frametime spikes/stutters (up to 200ms) and I am not sure why. Things which I have done to combat this:

1. Lower game graphics/effects and rebuild cache
2. Update Punkbuster
3. Update Mesa stack and Kernel to latest version
4. Use Gamemode
5. Try various Proton versions including Proton-GE
6. Block write access to EA-app folder

The game remains not playable :(. I first thought it might be a DXVK compilation problem so I capped my FPS at 60 (CPU usage was 28% and GPU at 62%) and the problem still occurred. So, I'm pretty sure the issue isn't my hardware.

Kernel version: 7.0.13

Mesa version: 26.1.2

Is anyone playing multiplayer?

IDK if any of you guys still like/play bf3, but there's a very active server that I found on pc a few weeks ago called The Oldies Station. I used to get very frustrated looking for servers because bf3 is my favorite game in the series by far, but all the servers are either empty or show false player counts. Not this one. This server is actually active and incredibly fun. Conquest and rush, base maps and all dlc, and they have a discord that i recently joined thats a joy to be in. The admins actually participate and dont get butthurt if you kill them or destroy their team lol. I remember this game back in the good ole days, and this server is really a glimpse back to better times. I'd highly recommend giving it a go.

I remember having the R2 on Throttle for helis and Jets, somehow i cant seem to find this settings in BF6 to just copy and paste. Anyone have a idea?

so I started playing battlefield 4 again, and I have no clue what to do, I can't find good updated tutorials, I only find from 10 years ago, and I need some rule of thumbs because I always miss!

Ok ok it is a skill issue, I have ASS aim, but it's to the point where it's not me.

I also see others somehow see me while their are completely hidden.

PLEASE, any tips?? (I also don't know if yall a good community so a warning would help)

Is BF4 still playable on PlayStation? Are there still active servers for it? I'm thinking about buying BF4 again, but this time for console.
