I'm looking to fit

• 14" MBP
• Bose QC Ultra (ideally in the case)
• low profile 60% mech kb
• logitech g502x mouse
• usb hub
• charger
• small notebooks and pens

I was able to fit these things into a 12l messenger bag, but it was very stiff and narrow and had a decent amount of dead space due to that

would be nice to also fit the following items (not critical though):

• small lunchbox
• lightweight sweater (rarely, only cold enough to be needed 2-3 months of the year here)

I'm 5'7" and looking for something fairly low profile, sharp looking, and not too big. The metro fits the bill perfectly, the side access looks appealing, and the price is pretty perfect. I'm a bit worried about all these things possibly being a tight fit though.

I was also considering the AC Daily, or thirteen daybag, but I much prefer the size and styling of the metro. (if going to ~20L I think I like the look of the daily over the metro pro though).

For people who own the metro, do you think this would fit? Or possibly other recommendations that fit the aesthetic?

I had a ridiculous amount of backpacks that included a 511 rush 24, osprey archeon, another osprey can’t remember the name, a goruck gr1 26l.

Anyway I sold them all and just kept 1 backpack the everyday backpack by stubble & co

Which is a great backpack but has more of a work aesthetic

I’m after a bag I can use with days out with my kids so water bottle pockets are a must was looking at the under armour triumph sport but I don’t know how good there backpacks are.

After suggestions for something rugged looking between 20 and 30 litres

Tactical look preferred but not over the top

And needs water bottle pockets

Any suggestions?

Don’t really wanna spend more than £50/100 pounds but closer to 50 would be better at this moment in time

i want a clean minimalistic bag that is also good for everyday use. i’m fitting a macbook air 13 inch, a few folder and binders, and some snacks. i would like to have a separate laptop compartment it doesn’t have to be i just want easy access.

I need some help finding the perfect pack. Here’s my situation:

Work from home and trying to get out and exercise more. I‘m walking every other day to a Starbucks and it’s a 6 mile roundtrip. I’m carrying a laptop and a 40oz water bottle, and then some basic EDC.

I’ve been using a TNF Recon, and my biggest issue is that it’s a sweat sponge. I’m 6’1 240 with broad shoulders, and I sweat even when I’m not hiking 6 miles in the summer sun. It’s not just the back, the straps too.

My ideal pack is pretty minimal. Carries a 14” MacBook Pro, a water bottle, and has a big container and a quick small things pocket.

I went down the Osprey path but their bags all felt off on my frame (yes I tried the EF - it was more about where things hit my neck). I saw the ON Trail Pack but the vest puts me off (I’m trying to get my bag less sweaty, not more).

I’m starting to think my perfect pack either doesn’t exist - or if it does it’s by some niche small company I need help finding.

Ok backpack gurus, need some help with finding a backpack that covers most of what I’m looking for. I’m sick of the Swiss gear bags that don’t seem to hold up with the travel I do and seem to be bulkier/heavier than what I would like.

So I do on average 180-220 flights a year for work. If I go out for the day or 1 overnight I tend to live out of my backpack and I can pack very light, any more than 1 overnight and my suitcase comes with. I carry a tablet and a 14” laptop so I don’t need a bag that holds a massive laptop.

What I’m looking for in a backpack:
-lightweight but durable
-laptop sleeve where the laptop sleeve is slightly off the bottom so it doesn’t bang against the ground and at least a little bit of padding.
-water bottle holder, don’t need it on both sides but also don’t care if it is both sides.
-I do like some organization, pockets and places to put things instead of 1 giant opening that everything gets thrown into.
-luggage strap is one of the few things that is a deal breaker for me

Just looking for some options that I may have not heard of that this groups has come across.

I've got a 16 year old Mountain Hardwear Agama backpack that I'm having to get rid of because its kind of falling apart and the rubberized surfaces are degrading and leaving greasy smears on stuff. This was my all-around bag and when it started to fray about 5 years ago, I picked up a North Face Router to replace it. I kept using the MH as a secondary backpack so my North Face would be teed up for longer trips.

While the NF is more or less fine (pockets, organizing, laptop space), what bugs me about it is that it's too structured. Too much padding here and there and sort of "bulk". Even when its not that full, it feels full and bulky. The Agama was much better in that regard, though it doesn't have the laptop protection of the Router. Which is less important, because I rarely travel with my laptop, usually just my iPad w/keyboard case.

On a lark, I ordered a Waterfly 30L folding travel backpack. I have one of their cross body bags and I really like it. While the Waterfly definitely ticks the unstructured box, it's got a flimsyness to it. Unpadded shoulder straps which seem like would be a problem with much weight in the pack, both for comfort and for durability. The tack stitching plus material seems like it'll rip in no time. I plan to use this as a lightweight "day trip" (more volume than the cross body, but zero added bulk) bag, so I think it'll be OK but I don't think it will last long at all. At about $29, it's a reasonable risk but I can't see myself using it for air travel because of the unpadded shoulder straps and general flimsy build.

What's a decent backpack in the 30L size (+/- 3L) that's got decent construction but minimal bulk/padding/structure to it? Padded shoulder straps seem like a must for longer walks with more stuff in it. And ideally multiple organization pockets -- not just the main compartment plus a tiny outer org pocket. When I bought the NF Router, I really struggled to find something -- stores seemed to have limited selection (even REI, Dick's, etc) and online is really hard to shop (not enough pictures, pocket info, etc). I'm not enthusiastic about ordering a half-dozen contenders online and then returning them.

The bags a kelty redwing 50. I can't think of anything I'd use these straps for.

I need a new backpack soon and I want to get something that will last me throughout college and work well to fit things inside. I'm looking for something under $70 and can fit a bigger water bottle. Does anyone have any good recommendations for backpacks?

I’ve got two kids and a wife and always end up carrying so much stuff. I’ve gone through a few packs that ended up being too small or not enough organization. My wants are: no waist belt, hydration bladder compatible, at least one good sized side bottle pocket, probably 25 to 35L, not just one cavernous storage area (I need organization but don’t want multiple laptop and document sleeves), preferably a good sized soft compartment to fit sunglasses or camera. Right now I’m leaning towards the Osprey Nebula, it seems to check off all those boxes but I think what’s throwing me off is it looks too much like a school bag instead of a hiking bag. We travel often and always like to go hiking while we’re there so I want something that can transition from travel/commuting to hiking well.

I’m looking for a backpack for school that can accommodate multiple outfits for games and practices. Since I don’t have a locker or a way to get my clothes out of my car before practice, I need a backpack that can hold everything I need. What backpack do you recommend?

hii i'm going into my first year of uni this september and am looking for a backpack that'll last me all four years and possibly more. I'm planning to carry everyday my water bottle, bento box, laptop, notebooks, pencil case. from what i've heard, you don't need so many compartments or tons of space in your backpack, just enough for the basics you'll use everyday.

if true, does anyone please have any good recommendations?

I've been looking at some options online, but i do already have this Herschel backpack that i've owned for three years. i'm wondering though if the straps and zippers and such will last me as long as i need them to, or should i invest in a thicker, bigger, more heavy duty type backpack? i just don't want my bag to be something i have to worry about in these coming years yk. thank you!

Hi all. My daughter has bought a 65 or 75 lit backpack for DofE in school. This backpack is tall and makes taking things out difficult.

I was wondering if anyone can point us in the direction of a wide back pack rather than a tall backpack please?

I'm looking at using the North Face Base Camp Duffel Extra Small (XS) as my personal item on Ryanair.

I know it's slightly over Ryanair's stated personal item dimensions (40 × 20 × 25 cm), so I'm aware it doesn't technically comply on paper. That said, since it's a soft duffel, I'm wondering if anyone has actually flown with it and whether it compresses enough to fit in the sizer when it's not packed completely full.

Has anyone here used this exact bag as a Ryanair personal item? Did you have any issues at the gate, or was it accepted without any questions?

The water bottle pocket in my backpack is both too short and too loose so my water bottle always falls out. It’s not just this water bottle, it’s pretty much any standard size water bottle.

Does anyone have a suggestion for how to make it so that my water bottle doesn’t fall out? Please, don’t say get another water bottle- the only ones that don’t fall out are super short and don’t hold enough water.
