Hi! My boyfriend’s ASUS laptop he’s had for a couple years has been making this weird buzzing noise whenever I try to play Baldur’s Gate 3 today. Last night he was able to get in a good few hours playing himself before the noise started, even on the highest graphics. I’ve set them all to low today but it keeps happening either when the game starts to load or right after.

I know it’s a very heavy game and that’s probably the reason, it’s just strange to me how it was mostly fine last night! He had it hooked up to the tv last night which I haven’t done today, could that be part of it? It also happens sometimes when he plays Roblox but not as consistently.

Anyways I was wondering what you guys think the sound is and if it can be ignored? If it’s just coil whine I personally don’t mind dealing with the noise but if it’s something more serious I want to be able to let him know! Thank you guys in advance!!

I'm about to just return these routers and buy something else, looking for any advice.

My download speeds are terrible is the main issue. I pay for a 1.2g of fiber internet, I'm testing damn near close to that when hard wired into the main router. With the wifi, the best download speeds I can get are around 120 when I'm right next to the main router. My download speeds range from 20-120, while uploads range from 400-900 depending on device and distance. This is true for 4 different windows devices - 3 of which are custom builds and 1 AOG Strix laptop bought last year so that's pretty up to date. On android/chrome devices, amazing 500mbs + download speeds on the other side of my house. If I use a linux boot media, the same computers get 500/600 up and down. So it's has to be the routers interfacing with windows. My link speed on my computer is 2402/1922. I think the routers are working but somewhere between windows and the router communicating there are issues. Again, this occurs on all computers.

Things I have tried:

- Spliting the wifi bands. Currently I only have my main computer connected to the 5g and still have issues

- Wifi 7 off

- 6ghz band off

- QOS off

- Asus protection off

- Airtime fairness off

- Tested it with IPv6 off and on

- Receive-Side Scaling State on normal

- I've tried to turn off Beamforming but it appears to have been removed from the UI

- Uninstalled all VPNs

- Ensured drivers are up to date

- Forced the 5g to stay at 80 Mhz even though my card can do 160

I'm at the end of my rope. I wanted to upgrade to a fast wireless system as hardwiring in my home is sadly not really an option. I currently have Google Pros and they are working better despite being in the exact same locations as the ASUS routers which make no sense. I'm a bit nervous if I change brands I'll have a similar issue. Any help would be appreciated.

Bitdefender detected two separate files/programs that I got directly from the ASUS support site for drivers & files to try and resolve issues with missing features or options in the MyASUS desktop application - this particular .sys file got flagged and quarantined after unzipping the archive.

I’m more than happy to share the exact link or origin of the Support Articles and download but am withholding for the moment to avoid any potential restrictions/bans on my post.

Anyone else had something similar before? If so, what EDR/AntiVirus was it and how did it classify the detection?

What the hell??

I posted here a few days ago thinking I had solved it by uninstalling and reinstalling the WiFi driver and then restarting my laptop. It fixed it for about 24hrs, and now nothing matter what I do, the option to connect to WiFi will not show up.

I can’t even turn on mobile hotspot, or airplane mode, it won’t let me do anything in regards to Wifi.

It’s an Asus Tuf Gaming F17, I’ve had it for 5-6 years, and use it often to play simple games like Minecraft and Roblox, slime rancher, etc.

Should I get this one fixed? Or should I just save up to get a PC (better option in my opinion cause I wanna be able to play better games, I just technologically cannot currently).

I've had this problem since last Sunday. I was using it without any issues, but I turned it off to go out, and when I got home, it was stuck like this when I plugged it into the charger. The same thing happens even when it's unplugged; I just have to press the power button. I've tried everything: holding the button for 40 seconds, removing the battery, clearing the RAM, but none of it works.

I ordered a new ASUS laptop for college, around $2,500. This wasn’t just some random impulse purchase either. I spent days researching which laptop to get because I needed something strong enough for college/engineering work but still portable. I finally picked the ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14 and had been waiting for it all morning.
FedEx tracking said it was supposed to arrive between about 1:25 PM and 3:00 PM.
Then, before that delivery window even came, I checked the tracking and saw it had been marked “delivered” at 12:49 PM.

I went outside immediately and the only thing at my front door was an unrelated Amazon package under my dad’s name. It wasn’t from ASUS. It wasn’t my laptop. It was just a laptop case for something else.
At first, I thought maybe FedEx marked it delivered early by mistake. So I called FedEx and opened a case. I also called ASUS because they’re the shipper. ASUS opened a case too, but they basically told me the investigation could take up to 10 business days. That annoyed me because this is a $2,500 laptop I need for college work, not some $20 accessory.

Then the situation got weird. I called FedEx again, and the rep told me something like:
“The driver was intercepted, and the package was given to you.”
I was confused because I never intercepted any driver. I never received the laptop. Nobody in my household received it. Nobody at my house authorized anyone to take it. And the package never reached my front door.
Later, I found out the FedEx case had apparently been closed because the notes said the “customer received the package” and that someone signed using my last name.
That’s when it went from annoying to creepy.
I disputed it completely. I did not sign for anything. I did not receive anything. Nobody in my household received it. Someone apparently used my last name, and somehow FedEx treated that as valid.
Eventually the case was reopened and escalated to FedEx security. I was told it was reopened because of improper shipping/delivery procedures, since apparently handing a package to someone during transit is not normal policy.

From what I was told, there is camera/video footage connected to the incident. Apparently, a car was following or tailing the FedEx driver in my neighborhood. My neighborhood is huge, so this wasn’t even directly in front of my house. The car allegedly stopped the driver before he reached my address.
According to the notes/information I was given, the person showed the driver my tracking number, my address, and my last name.
Then the driver handed them my laptop.
So somehow this person knew enough about my shipment to stop the driver and convince him to give them a $2,500 package before it ever reached my house.
My parents ended up filing a police report. An officer came to my house, I explained everything, and the report was labeled as forgery because someone signed using my last name.

Today I spoke with FedEx security. They said their role was basically to review the footage/details and determine if there was a policy or security issue. They told me they did find an issue and said it was entirely FedEx’s fault. They said they would now communicate with ASUS to see how the internal issue gets resolved.

So now I’m waiting on ASUS and FedEx to sort it out, but I’m still mad because someone apparently walked, is FedEx/Police likely to investigate the actual person who took it, or are they mostly just going to determine fault and settle it with ASUS?

My questions:

Has anyone ever had a FedEx package intercepted before it reached your house?

How would someone even get the tracking number, address, and last name unless something was leaked or accessed somehow?

I’m trying to stay calm because FedEx security basically told me I’m in good hands, but this whole situation feels insane. It wasn’t delivered to the wrong porch. It sounds like someone literally intercepted the driver and got my laptop handed to them using my information.

Edit: A lot of people are mentioning chargebacks/credit card disputes, so I should clarify: I did not use my own personal credit card for this order. The laptop was paid for through a church/foundation scholarship for college, so I can’t personally just file a normal credit card chargeback. That’s why I’m mainly trying to resolve this through ASUS, FedEx, the police report, and the FedEx security investigation.

MY ROG Claymore II which ive had for abut 18 months has the O key going bad. it doesnt register often and I have to press hard to get it to input.

This is very frustrating because this is an EXPENSIVE keyboard and i havent had it for long at all. And the product is out of warranty so my only options for repair are ASUS out of warranty repair which I havent heard good things about, or to buy a new keyboard. I have already attempted to repair it myself by investigated the key and checking for any dust or damage.

Is this a known issue with ASUS boards? I don't want to drop another coouple hundred on a new board and have it die on me after only a year or two

My motherboard and PC were fine but I saw ASUS had an update. I installed the update and now my ethernet port won't connect to lan, the connector just stays solid green.

ASUS LAPTOP EXPERIENCE

Bought a ROG Strix G18 Gaming Laptop, 18” ROG Nebula WQXGA 240Hz Display, AMD Ryzen 9 8940HX, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070, 16GB RAM, 1TB SSD, Windows 11 Home, G814PP-DS94 from ASUS proper Dropped $2,100.00. Laptop arrived poorly packed and apparently used. Greasy finger prints on the monitor, trackpad and keys. Poor packing caused the upper right edge to bend and crack. Nothing had any protective wrapping. Called ASUS and was told "its going to a higher level of care". Every week the same update. No matter how many emails I sent. Three weeks later I was permitted to send the laptop back with an RMA number. Two weeks later I got a refund.

So there is a good chance you too could be out $2K for 5 weeks with a constant barrage of emails promising an "escalation of care" for a used laptop. The risk is real, especially being stuck for 5 weeks and no COD.

So the laptop charges properly only when its shutdown but not charging when turned on.. Also it doesn't charge in bios.. I dont understand what's wrong. Please help suggest solutions.

So my ASUS Vivobook 15 which I bought around 3 years ago encountered an issue 1 year into owning it (conveniently after the warranty ran out 😭). So basically, about once or twice a day, my laptop just randomly turns off and turns back on again, it happens more often when some heavy task is happening while plugged in or when airflow is obstructed. I have tried changing the thermal paste but the problem persists. Is there any fix to this or is this just a factory issue that plagues all Vivobook 15s.

Is there anyway I can unlock this thing. It's been stored for a few years. Wifi still connects but https no longer works. neverssl.com works, Tried everything chatgpt suggested. adb works but that's about it. I'm basically stuck at: TF701T → locked bootloader → ASUS unlock server is gone → custom boot/recovery images cannot normally be flashed. I'd love to be able to use it rather than trash it.

i have asus laptop fan h7604ji heard H7604JI, H7604JV might be but im having a hard time finding them on ebay. which other models are compatible. gpu fan is making a lot of noise.. sucks didnt expect it after 3 years tbh from a $2800 laptop

I have to say its my first time dealing with Asus Customer Service but I must say its incredibly frustrating and bad.

I have been around IBM / Lenovo when their customer service was top notch and have watched their CS decline over the years. But I have never seen such lackluster service before.

So here is what happened : I purchased a NUC 14 and everything was fine until I decided to mount it on my monitor. I managed to find the mounting plate but not the screws. These screws are a common part in computer hardware (M2, M2.5, M3 etc.)

I was told to go to the Asus Service Center and nobody seemed to help me. Instead I was denied service because of my product Serial Number. My Serial Number meant I could only get On Site RMA which would cost me approx. 2,400 Baht (80.00 USD) even with valid warranty!

Ridiculous. Absolutely ridiculous. Even on a bad day Lenovo CS would out perform Asus CS. I am glad to learn this lesson and will stay clear of Asus in the future.

Finally I am going to order a full screw set online (even though I only need a few) and be done with it. It would cost me at max 10.00 USD and I would have a whole surplus of screws.

Simply put, my primary XG27UCS monitor (160 Hz, FreeSync enabled, SDR) appears to adopt my secondary XG27ACDNG monitor (360 Hz, FreeSync enabled, HDR) refresh rate when playing a game. This is fine until I tab out of a game and a frame rate cap is applied. The window I tab into on my primary monitor is now governed by this horrible frame rate. However, if I then tab into another window on the monitor, the problem immediately disappears and I can free tab back into the original window without any problems.

While this happens, I notice the VRR monitor on the XG27ACND is flicking around the FPS cap and immediately jumps back to 360 Hz when the secondary window is clicked. Extremely bizarre problem? Wondering if anyone's encountered the same or has a quick fix.

MPO (typically a 9070 XT fix), HAGS, independent refresh rates set, hardware acceleration, etc. all do not remedy this. Disabling FreeSync on the primary monitor does not, but it does if disabled on the secondary.

So I’ve noticed that the fan is making a lot of noise on my pc for a while now. I’ve taken the fan, cleaned. It, checked if anything blocked it but can’t find a reason why. Is he just too old ?
