I know this project is probably posted here a few times a year, but I just wanted to share the detail photos I took!

Tiankeng Library is part of the Xianggao City preservation and renovation project in Wuyuan, Jiangxi, China. The project was led by Wang Wanbin, the chief designer and chief engineering designer of the Xianggao City project from Jiangxi Xiangwang Landscape Design Co., Ltd.

The library is integrated into a natural rock environment, combining traditional Huizhou cultural elements with a more contemporary fantasy-inspired interior. The design features wooden structures, a carved spiral staircase, warm lighting, and a unique immersive reading atmosphere.

The project follows the principle of “repairing the old as the old,” preserving historical elements while introducing a modern cultural experience space. The second phase, including Tiankeng Library, is expected to open to the public in August 2026.

I have been working on this model for far too long. It started as a homework assignment for restoration class turned into something I liked and continued to work on even after the assignment was graded (4th photo is my submission) and now I'm turning it portfolio-ready. and I just want to say I learned quite a few extensions in the progress. This former Nazi anti-aircraft bunker in Hamburg was converted into a hip hotel with a rooftop garden. The brutalist wartime fortress, which was deemed too massive to demolish, is now called the Reverb by Hard Rock Hamburg, a hotel with restaurants and a public rooftop park built above its 3.5-meter-thick concrete walls. The renovation, plus adding the extra five floors and the garden, cost €100 million. Before/after photos.

This is St. Paul the Apostle Church, located on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, NYC and right next door to Fordham University's Lincoln Center campus. A choir I sing in got invited to Carnegie Hall but we rehearsed in Pope Auditorium at Fordham University Lincoln Center. This church was next door and later in the day after rehearsal I went here to see the interior.

I've been photographing Belgrade's post-war architecture since moving here, mostly while exploring the city on foot. Eventually I realised I had enough to put it together, so I made a small online guide covering 20 buildings and complexes.

Hey everyone, im about to begin my undergrad for architecture (non accredited) and know that I would like to open my own firm at some point. Is there any advice, or steps i should take for that? Im going to pursue my masters at my uni, which is accredited to get licensed. If it makes any difference, i want to be based in texas/california, going to college in texas.

I’m starting my ARE studies and plan to use the **NCARB recommended books as my primary resources**.

I’d like to add **one supplemental resource** to use alongside the books, and I’m trying to decide between **Amber Book** and **Black Spectacles**.

For those who have used either (or both), which one do you think is the better investment?

I’m looking for something that helps explain difficult concepts, keeps me engaged, and prepares me well for the actual exams.

If you used one of them, which exams did it help you with the most, and would you choose the same resource again?

I was thinking about how architecture shapes our emotions in subtle ways.

Have you ever walked into (or even looked at) a building that left you feeling unsettled because of its proportions, lighting, symmetry, scale, materials, or atmosphere?

I'd love to hear what building it was and what you think created that feeling. I'm fascinated by how architecture can communicate emotion without saying a word.

Clarification:
With this question I'm thinking less about the architect's intent and more about the visitor's experience. Have you ever walked into a place that just felt... off... even if you couldn't point to a specific design flaw?

hello, I'm in architecture school that mainly focuses into architecture design and its structural engineering work, but in the same time we study urban design and planning, i found my self from my second year more interested in urban design and focused it in nearly most of my projects in ARCH school, and niw i want to make my graduation project mainly focuses on the urban side not mainly designing buildings.
