I know this project is probably posted here a few times a year, but I just wanted to share the detail photos I took!

This former Nazi anti-aircraft bunker in Hamburg was converted into a hip hotel with a rooftop garden. The brutalist wartime fortress, which was deemed too massive to demolish, is now called the Reverb by Hard Rock Hamburg, a hotel with restaurants and a public rooftop park built above its 3.5-meter-thick concrete walls. The renovation, plus adding the extra five floors and the garden, cost €100 million. Before/after photos.

This is St. Paul the Apostle Church, located on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, NYC and right next door to Fordham University's Lincoln Center campus. A choir I sing in got invited to Carnegie Hall but we rehearsed in Pope Auditorium at Fordham University Lincoln Center. This church was next door and later in the day after rehearsal I went here to see the interior.

So for all the young people out there all venting about their low pay or their inability to find jobs.

This is an indicator of why that is.

I was thinking about how architecture shapes our emotions in subtle ways.

Have you ever walked into (or even looked at) a building that left you feeling unsettled because of its proportions, lighting, symmetry, scale, materials, or atmosphere?

I'd love to hear what building it was and what you think created that feeling. I'm fascinated by how architecture can communicate emotion without saying a word.

Clarification:
With this question I'm thinking less about the architect's intent and more about the visitor's experience. Have you ever walked into a place that just felt... off... even if you couldn't point to a specific design flaw?

Hello! I'm currently a 5th Year in Architecture and currently I would like to request a Contractor's Cash flow analysis & diagram of 3 ongoing construction projects. Its purpose for the activity is to make me analyze actual cash flows of a contractor in a construction project. I have tried searching online, but I have not found one (most likely only 1 project).

I am fully aware it is a very sensitive/private document, but please do know that this is only for our school activity, and if company/contractor names are involved, I would keep the document/information to myself only (or if it is alright that you could remove their names instead).

I know it is too much to ask, but I am already much desperate to find one since I would be analyzing the samples and provide essays about the project. I am also open for any information to where or how I could find this (samples are alright).

(P.S. This post does not intend to make others accomplish my homework, but a mere request of information/data for a project - I needed a sample of the analysis/diagrams for me to conduct an essay about it.)

If AI will "enhance" production & speed things up, won't architectural firms be more hesitant to hire new employees? Most firms do show AI renderings on their insta pages.

I know lots of here are anti-ai and me too, but this is worrisome for me who is looking to becoming an architect. Am I at risk?
