I've had this delightful painting for years and wanted to share it with everyone. Believe it to be French.

Thrifted these antique plates for $2 each. I love them but do not like the portraits they have. Would it be a crime to attempt to remove them? I love antiques and don’t want to destroy it, but I also want to use/ hang these plates and the portraits don’t really match my vibe

I recently acquired this unique scent bottle and am desperately trying to find out who the maker could be. What I've discovered so far is that there are three tiny eagle stamps on it - one on the upper hinge, one on the lower, and one on the body. I've learned this means it is likely 18k (EDIT - some helpful users pointed out that this is likely a boars head, which would make this vermeil, or silver with a thick layer of gold over it). However, I'd love to be able to actually trace it back to the House associated with it.

I know it's a shot in the dark, but I'm hoping someone can identify some pattern or design element that was maybe characteristic of some of the artisans of the time. I've been told it likely dates between 1850 and 1890. It's quite heavy for it's size, but not sure if the body is rock crystal or just glass crystal. There's what looks like a Greek pattern near the collar, and three different medallions. I'm not sure what metal these are made of. Appreciate any help!

Im in PA i got this in canada, was said to be over 100 years old 19th century Pesh-kabz or choora. Wondering if anyone can tell me about its history or authenticity and maybe if its worth anything? seems hand made to me but im no expert. its 11-12inches long and the sheath appears to be brass over wood its not magnetic nor is the gold on the dagger but im not sure what that material is. Any insight would be helpful! Any advice on how to properly clean it and make it look nice would be appreciated too. thank you!

I found this glass jewelry box at a Goodwill and was wondering if it’s worth anything. I can’t find a makers mark or anything on the glass or the brass hinge/seal. I believe it is hand painted, the flowers are raised and textured. There’s a line that looks a bit like a seam on one side and there are some small bubbles in the glass. Is this worth anything?

This is a statue of a Swedish sculptor named Carl Johan Eldh. I have been in contact with an atalje in Stockholm who works with c.j eldh works. They say that it is a model for a work called Mother's Grief for which he won an award in Paris in the early 1900s. And that it is a greeting on the statue to another famous Swedish artist named Axel Sjöberg. I don't know if I'm going to sell it or not but I've been told that at an auction the asking price would be around 300$. I know very little about art, so my question is, does it sound like a reasonable price? Should you wait and hope that it increases in value? All suggestions and thoughts are appreciated.

Ive been eyeing up this jacket since i spotted it well over a year ago and decided to finally buy it, the shop owner claimed it to be a Victorian mourning jacket from the late 1800s. Any advice on how to handle and store it? I'm looking into antique textile restoration specialists as it has a few spots of damage, so if anyone knows of any within the UK who would be capable of this id love to hear them! Someone came to my house and mentioned that these look like silver antiques. I'm not sure what they are, since my mom brought them from Lebanon 40 years ago. the construction crew found these 2 pins inside of a wall during my home renovation. house was built in 1900. when the string is pulled, the eyes spin around. very cool to think these may have been the source of entertainment for some kids.

Hello everyone, I’m hoping the experts here can give us any and all information on this striking piece. We brought it to get appraised in Boston, where we were told it is a Chinese stone carving made from a marble and silt matrix dating to the prewar era. We think it might be an antique, but we can’t find anything like it anywhere!
Here are the details to help:
Location: United States
Dimensions & Weight: Standing at approximately 5 feet tall and carved out of dense, heavy natural stone.
Intricate Workmanship: It features a traditional mudra and a double lotus base, but what sets it apart is the incredible surface detail. The robes and torso feature multi-tiered architectural niches filled with hand-chiseled narrative relief panels, seated figures, and guardian registers rather than a generic or modern pattern.
Condition & Details: Shows deep organic weathering and a hand-chiseled texture consistent with traditional stonework. There are no visible maker's marks.
Questions:
Based on the style of these narrative relief carvings and the prewar assessment we received in Boston, what can you tell us about its exact origins, traditions, or age?
Why is it so difficult to find comparable pieces? Any and all insights, historical context, or evaluation tips would be hugely appreciated. Thank you!

I found these at an estate saleI stumbled upon in Portland, OR about 12 years ago. I couldn’t leave them there! I think they’re so beautiful. 😍
When I looked up the maker’s marks, the combination of the impression + underglaze green one, and the blue circle date these pieces specifically to 1879-1889!
I’m sorry I don’t have the exact size at the moment, but I’d estimate the coffee pot to be about 10” high and the sugar bowl to be about 7” high.
Have you seen these before? Would these have been common, everyday use items? Or were these more high-end / fancy?

They sure don’t make things like they used to. I wish I could use them but I assume there’s lead in them.

Looking for help identifying the make, era, and value of this.

Don't know what kind of wood. The only makers marks to be found are underneath the chair. They're written in pencil and appear to say "W.J.Ferris B.C.", "W.J.F", and "R.J.E - C.B.E". The J's could be F's. Could be Ferris/Ferrie/something else. Hard to make out what it all spells.

I inherited this old mantel clock while helping clean out a family member's estate. Unfortunately, I can't identify the maker, and it hasn't run in years.

Before I spend money on a professional appraisal or restoration, what are the first things I should look for to determine whether it's worth researching further? For example, are there specific maker's marks, construction details, or condition issues that are most important?

I'm not looking for an exact value...just hoping to understand what experts typically check first so I know whether it's worth pursuing an appraisal or repair.
