Beware: Amazon uncanceled and delivered order

I ordered an air purifier for my elderly parents when the wildfire smoke was bad. I deliberately selected from the few and more expensive same-day delivery options.

The item was not delivered that day and showed as Delayed in the system with a note that if it did not arrive in by the next day, I could cancel. It did not arrive the next day and still showed as delayed with no estimated date and no information about where it was. I cancelled the order. It showed cancelled on my Orders page. All of this disappointing as my parents did not have access to this critical item when needed. But it gets worse....

Yesterday, I got a message that the order was scheduled for delivery today. Note that this is the day that most of the air purifiers on the site would have been delivered. I checked my account. The item still showed as Cancelled. There was no option for me to do anything about it.

Today, it was delivered. And boy was it a challenge to get Amazon to agree to do a pick up return for free despite the fact that a regular return would have meant my elderly parents somehow taking this large item to UPS.

Service was rude. They acted like they were doing ME a favor. She even stated that I was asking them to give me a gift. They also have no verification that it was ever cancelled and expected me to provide a screenshot. I will not be refunded until the item is logged as returned--up to 30 days. All of this despite the fact that this was their error at every point.

Next time, I'll try Sam's or Target or just about anywhere else.

Order confirmation emails

Has anyone noticed the change with Amazon's confirmation emails? They no longer show a picture of the item you bought or the title of the item. Instead, they are using generic descriptions of what you ordered. I assume it's a security thing, but I don't know. Does anyone here know why they started doing that?

Why are Amazon products not sealed ???!

Upvotes

I have previously bought mascara from them and it didnt come sealed like when I order from other stores. I also recently bought some lotion that usually comes sealed but the one I ordered from Amazon didn’t have a seal. It seems so unhygienic and makes me skeptical about the credibility of their products.

Wrong product received - refund delayed

I recently ordered a mini thermal printer for my sister's upcoming birthday and received a moisturizer worth like 200-300 or something (I forgot tbh it's been a while). I raised a wrong product received request immediately and the product was picked up the next day. The refund was expected latest by 22 july (today) but it has been delayed. They got the wrong product back on 16th July and have still not processed it. I raised a customer support ticket and they told me to wait till 26 july before contacting them again. What should be my next steps? Also, i didn't take any pictures/videos to keep for the wrong product. I know that was stupid of me. I only took 2 pictures through the returns page and they were directly uploaded to Amazon. I do not have them in my gallery.

Offered money to remove bad reviews. Yet again.

I'm so tired of this happening. I keep forwarding these emails to amazon and nothing ever gets done.

The most recent one the people are so persistent. They are sending me emails every other day from new fake names. The first week they offered me $15 to remove the remove. Second week was $20. Now we're up to $25.

I feel like it doesn't get more egregious than this, yet sending these to emails supposedly dedicated to paid review abuse gets nothing done.

So, I ordered a Switch 2 on 7/14 when it was on sale for 10% off. Since Amazon requires a 4 digit code for some deliveries, I chose Amazon Day Delivery for 7/17 when I’d be home to sign for it. 7/17 comes around and I get notified that the package is delayed until 7/21. I thought oh well, but it kinda sucks because overnight shipping was an option when I ordered.

So it’s 7/21 and I get another notification about a delay and a new delivery date of 7/27. I ended up getting on chat with support to request a courtesy credit as they’ve already blown two promised delivery dates. The agent says they’ll give me a $10 promo credit after the delivery arrives and to check with support then. Bro disconnects immediately after (classic Amazon). Shortly after I refreshed my order history and I see my Switch 2 order was canceled. WTF?

I ended up requesting a phone call and asked to speak directly with a supervisor. I asked why it was canceled and if they could honor the 10% discount. They said fulfillment canceled it due to it being out of stock and that they couldn’t restore the discount. Well, it wasn’t out of stock because the listing page said in stock for 7/27 delivery. I mentioned that and asked if they could provide a $50 gift card or promotional credit to “make things right.” He says no he doesn’t have the option to do that. So here’s how that conversation went …

Me: Can you override it and either adjust a new order or give me a gift card or courtesy credit to offset the cost?

Amazon: Yes I can override it

Me: Could you please override it then?

Amazon: No, it’s against policy

So after some unproductive back and forth, I decided it was no longer worth it and hung up.

After all that, no Switch 2 or $50 discount. And to that I say.. thanks for nothing, Amazon!

Is this normal behavior from Amazon, to just switch around their prime customers? I'm really confused.

My card was charged 5 times when I only tried to place an order three times, I’ve reached out to Amazon and they said they’d open a ticket, has this happened to anyone?

The place where I’m from has an option for Amazon groceries. I usually buy from there, but yesterday I encountered an issue. The payment screen would go through, but no charge yet, the order would load for an ungodly amount before canceling. It happened three times before I gave up. But a few minutes later, my card was charged. Originally I thought it was just lag, but then it was charged 5 times. I reached out and the costumer service worker told me at first that there must be some outage or something and the refunds would go through, just not to order anything in the next 24 hours. I reached out today, and eventually was redirected to the payments team. They got my info and told me they’d open a ticket to investigate, contact the bank, etc and told me to wait 72 hours.

I’m more so concerned about whether or not I’ll be getting my money back. I ordered three times, my card was charged 5. An additional sixth time happened but then it was instantly refunded. The worker from the payment team said they can only see three charges. I had to clarify and send the picture of the repeated charges. Over 200 was taken. Has anyone encountered this issue? Was it resolved?

Amazon delivered an empty MacBook box and is refusing a refund - what can I do?

I ordered a MacBook Air from Amazon UK during Prime Week, before Apple increased its prices, using Instalments by Barclays.
The parcel was delivered using a one-time password, and the Amazon package appeared to be in good condition. However, when I opened it, the Apple retail box was inside, but the MacBook itself was missing. The Apple box was empty.
I noticed that the box felt unusually light, but I simply could not believe that the laptop was not inside. The Amazon packaging and the additional outer box appeared undamaged, but the seals on the Apple box were very loose.

I reported the issue to Amazon immediately, contacted the police, and provided Amazon with the police report and all the information they requested.
Amazon initially approved my refund and told me it would be processed. About a week later, however, they cancelled it. Since then, I have repeatedly received the same response:
“AMZN_UK has confirmed the shipment that you reported as lost was delivered to you in good condition.”

The problem is that I have never claimed that the shipment was lost. I have clearly explained several times that the parcel and the Apple box were delivered, but the MacBook was missing from inside the Apple box.
I have asked Amazon to confirm:

Whether the MacBook’s serial number was scanned and assigned to my order.

The recorded weight of the parcel during packing and dispatch.

What evidence confirms that the MacBook was inside the Apple box.

They have not answered any of these questions and continue sending me the same template response.

I have now contacted Barclays Partner Finance because I am being asked to repay finance for a laptop I never received. I have also emailed Amazon’s Executive Customer Relations team, Jeff etc

Has anyone experienced something similar with Amazon UK? Did Barclays Partner Finance help, or did you have to take Amazon to small claims court?
I have kept the packaging, photographs, police report and all correspondence. It is the worst online experience I ever experienced!!! I’ll never older anything from Amazon!

Don't fall for it like I've did

Amazon promised me a $143 refund, then admitted their own support lied.

I wanted to share my experience because I've been an Amazon customer for years and this is honestly the worst customer service experience I've had.

I originally ordered 3x AMD Ryzen 5 9600X CPUs for $131.35 each during a sale.

The order wasn't cancelled because I did anything wrong. Amazon's fraud/security system flagged my payment and asked me to verify that I was the owner of my credit card. I submitted all requested documents and my account was verified.

By the time everything was resolved, the CPUs had gone back up to $179 each.

I contacted Amazon support because the cancellation happened due to their security process, not because of anything I did.

Here's where things get ridiculous.

First agent:

  • Told me the CPUs would become available again.
  • Confirmed I would be able to get them for the original sale price.

When that didn't happen, I contacted support again.

Second agent:

  • Explicitly instructed me to buy the CPUs again at the higher price.
  • Told me that after delivery Amazon would refund the price difference.

So I followed their instructions.

After the CPUs were delivered, I contacted support again.

Third agent:

  • Couldn't issue the refund.
  • Escalated me to a supervisor.

Supervisor:

  • Confirmed my original cancelled order.
  • Confirmed the original sale price.
  • Told me they were submitting an internal request for the refund.

A few days later I contacted support again because nothing happened.

Another agent:

  • Confirmed the refund.
  • Told me the refund amount would be $142.95.
  • Sent me a confirmation email stating I would receive the money within 5–7 business days.

I waited.

Nothing arrived.

So I contacted Amazon again.

This time another representative told me something completely different:

Instead, they offered me either:

  • return all three CPUs, or
  • accept a $25 promotional credit instead of the $142.95 I had been promised.

The situation became even worse because I had already shipped the CPUs to Bosnia and Herzegovina. Returning them would require international shipping that Amazon refused to pay for, even though I only bought them because their own support repeatedly promised I'd receive the refund.

In the end I was left with:

  • paying about $143 more than originally agreed,
  • several hours spent talking to customer support,
  • multiple contradictory promises,
  • a written email confirming a refund that never happened,
  • and finally a $25 promotional credit instead.

The worst part isn't even the money.

It's that multiple Amazon representatives independently told me to buy the products and promised the difference would be refunded. I relied on those promises when making my purchase. Later Amazon simply admitted those promises were "incorrect" and refused to honor them.

I have screenshots/chat logs of every conversation, including:

  • the agents instructing me to reorder,
  • the supervisor escalation,
  • the email confirming the $142.95 refund,
  • and the final chat where Amazon admits the previous information was wrong.

Has anyone else experienced something like this? Is there anything else I can realistically do at this point?

Colis perdu et rembourser. Mais peut être reçu

Hello

FINALLY FOUND OUT THE SOLUTION TO CONNECT TO AMAZON CUSTOMER ASSOCIATE

I have been trying to contact amazon customer care service since 2 days and none of the following numbers work:-

1800-1200-9009
1800-3000-9009
1800-1200-1571

Use the following steps to get connected to their customer associates:-

  1. Open amazon shopping app.
  2. Click “Rufus”. Their AI chat bot.
  3. Write a prompt.
  4. It will give you 3 options. Click “Live Chat”. Do not click “Call Us” right now because it will take you to that annoying page where the doggo is running xD.
  5. After clicking “Live Chat” you will further get 2 options. Now click “Connect with an Associate”.
  6. Confirm your mobile number and click “Call me”.

Amazon HRWA#### tracking number

I dropped off a return at whole foods a couple weeks ago. In the amazon return order tracking system, it shows the return was dropped off but not "returned received" yet, which is a bit unusual, given it's been 2 weeks.

There's also no tracking number for this return. I contacted amazon and escalated to a supervisor, and was told that the tracking number is HRWA##### which isn't a valid tracking number and is some amazon internal thing. I pointed that out to the supervisor, and then they started claiming that amazon doesn't have a tracking order for this return and that if I really need one, I should contact whole foods (????????????). I did contact the whole foods where i dropped this off, and to the surprise of no one, they said they don't have a tracking number either and this is the responsibility of amazon to provide a tracking number....

Does anyone know why no tracking number exists here?

This is an expensive item, so I want to make sure it's not getting lost in transit.

How can someone know my last orders?

I received a scam phone call from someone (in India) that was calling me about suspected transactions on my account. I haven't used Amazon in months but they knew the last order I did months ago and the last digits on my card. They were trying to access my Amazon account and stupidly I gave the codes that I received on email and message. When asked to download amazon anydesk that's when it hit me it was a scam and I changed the password of the account. How can they know they my orders and last digits from my card? There were a few orders of smartphones on my account that I removed, as well there was a fake name of the person the order was going to. I deleted the account because I moved away from the country.

Where's My Stuff?

I ordered a set of ear buds a couple of weeks ago and they got lost. Amazon said I could cancel, which I did. That day I found another really nice set on sale, and ordered those. Now, they're almost a week late even though they were supposedly 10 miles away from my house. I keep hoping they'll show up, but I have a feeling they were "lost" again. I'd reorder them but the sale price was 50% off and now they're back to the original price. What is going on? Is there major theft going on at Amazon warehouses? Or is their "fantastic computerized AI" totally incompetent?

3rd Party Seller/Shipper Return

I bought a huge pergola that cost me a lot of money. As I was putting it together a lot of parts were bent or scratched. I wanted to return the item. I filed a claim with the a-z. They are telling me I have to ship it back and pay for the shipping. That the seller will refund the shipping if the items are considered defective. This doesn’t sit right with me.
1. I do not trust that the seller will determine it’s defective. They don’t even want me to return the item. They just want me to accept $30 for the $1800 item.
2. It may cost more than the cost of the item to ship it back. It would be. The item came in 9 boxes each weighing 80-100lbs.

I’m at my wits end. I can’t afford to just let it go.

Switching Carriers

Does anyone else know why Amazon will switch carriers? I got my order today and it was shipped out by USPS, I don't know if it's something to do with the package but 9/10 times it's an actual Amazon truck showing up. I have no problem because my package is still getting to me either way. But I'm just curious

Lack of prime shipping?

I feel like for the past two weeks I’m no longer getting the option for two day shipping. Am I the only one? For example I ordered something today and it won’t be here until Monday. That was the fastest it would come. I know that not everything is two day or next day, but I am talking about regular every day Amazon fulfilled items. Does anyone know what’s going on?

Returning to UPS, packaging required question

Hello. I’m hoping someone can help me…with all of the recent changes to Amazon returns, my only option for a particular return is to return the item to a UPS store that requires I package the item to be returned.

So, my question is:

If it comes in one of those reusable Amazon bags, can I return it to UPS in the same bag - or do I have to use a box?

TIA!!

Driver here: PLEASE delete duplicate name/addresses on your account

This small thing is causing a lot more problems than customers realize.

If you go on your account, the average person probably has just 1 name+address combo per person on the account. I personally have 2 but that’s 2 different addresses, so no big deal

The problem is a lot of customers have more than one tied to the same address. It causes us to have to mark things separately with separate photos while standing in rain or sun, AND it causes confusion with conflicting notes

————————————————-
Example:

A:

John Smith

1234 Amazon Street

[no note]

B:

john smith

1234 Amazon Street

“Leave package behind plant”

—————————————————-

If you look at these examples, you can probably spot the difference in the name. One is uppercase, one is lowercase, and i see this often. I assume this is due to customers not selecting their saved address and instead manually entering information for the other item they ordered 10 minutes later.

You’ll also notice B has a note. When the customer orders and selects A, they get confused/angry about notes not being followed. They know they told us to put it behind the plant, but they don’t realize that was a separate “address” with separate instructions we’re not seeing on this delivery. We are often protected from negative reports when the note they’re citing doesn’t exist, but many customers will instead just report us for “unprofessional” behavior

So please double check your accounts and clear out unused addresses and names. There is no need for multiple versions of the same John Smith at 1234 Amazon Street
