I inherited this collection from my grandfather. Does anyone know if any of these are rare or expensive? I’m not looking to sell them, and will probably display them like he did. I am more curious than anything. Thanks!

I had to replace the spring as it was not lighting up. Now it still takes me 4-5 attempts to light it up the first time after not using it for a while (when it gets hot it lights up on the first attempt).

I left it open and I noticed this... Did I do something wrong last time I set up the wick?

Lighting up easily only when hot and now this makes me think there is something wrong with how the gas moves...

Recently was passed down some stuff from a family member. Had a good amout of Zippos. Pictured are a few of the highlights. All new never even had fluid in them as far as I can tell. Have few more gems ill post.

These spent long enough in storage. From back in the day when sniping eBay auctions were fun.

I'm a little stumped on trying to date this Zippo I have going off of some guides online. I can try to take better photos if need be.

Oddities:

• It's magnetic. Both top and bottom case are fully magnetic.
• Hinge looks like it's maybe been repaired?
• The part inside the top lid that's part of the hinge is brass (pic #8 shows it well)
• Bottom stamp is heavily damaged from who knows what.

I purchased this at an antique store last year for something like $10. Just been fiddling with it on my desk since. But I was finally interested to see what year it was made and started seeing signs that it's at least from 1954, which is pretty awesome. But then I saw something about it being magnetic it could be from WWII. And sure enough, a magnet sticks to it pretty strongly, all over the top and bottom case.

There's some light rust on the inside that worries me a little bit.

So, how old is this thang?

I recently made a trip to PA and found this lighter at an antique store for like 25 bucks. I’m brand new to collecting Zippos and wanted to know if there is anything special about this one. It’s very slim and a bit smaller to all my typical daily use ones. Thanks for any help you can offer!!

Hey, I'm a new pipe smoker but have used a Butane blowtorch lighter before this and could easily get my pibe going for about 5 minutes. Now with my brand new Zippo Pipe Bhutane lighter all I get is a bit of ember and can barely keep it going for 1 minute. Am I doing something wrong here?

I have 6 zippos, 5 of which have a lip on the bottom of case around the zippo stamp/date. 1 with no lip . Does anyone have more info on this ?

Just wondering why there is such a disparity between what is available here in Canada vs the selection available in the U.S.A? The American designs see to be much nicer and much more variety.

Afternoon all, I'm trying to find some information about the Titled Zippo. I picked it up thrifting years ago for a few bucks as I kind of liked the movie and thought the design was cool.

It has the movie info on the back, the flat decal on the front. Not the raised prop one my google searches keep giving me.

From what little I can find, they only had 25 made, but the the extent of the info. I'm considering selling it but I'd like to know more before I make a decision.

I just finished cleaning up this 1968 engine turned polish chrome engraved “DICK.” it came out quite nice.

I've had the Pipe butane insert for over a year and I've run into an issue. I use Zippo brand butane because it's the only nozzle that works with the inserts (the others available to me have metal nozzles or are the wrong size).

After a few fills, the butane cans (both small and large) seem to lack the pressure to fully fill the insert. A can used for about 5 fills will no longer fully gas up the insert and instead of a week, I get about a day or two of use. The can is still very full. If I buy and use a fresh can, the problem goes away. I bleed the insert before every fill.

Anyone else experience this?

I have like 4 butane cans that feel like they're over half full and I can't use them 🤷‍♂️

This is the last of the three 1968s I received in a lot purchase. I think it’s interesting that Sunoco paid to have these engraved outside of the factory as opposed to ordering them direct.

I found this in a junk pile at a resale shop, and I'm trying to figure out how old this lighter is. Is it Korean war era? Or did the owner engrave this on a later model lighter?

I've googled the patent number and I've been getting mixed results.

I’ve had other scrimshaws that were even worse than this was so I peeled off the plastic part and polished them and you can’t even tell they were scrimshaws. Would this be worth more plain and polished, or as is?
