i know that this probably gets posted a lot but am i going to be alone forever?! im a 29F and in the last few months of my 20s realizing that i do want to spend and share the rest of my life with someone and not knowing where im the heck to start. i’ve dabbled with dating apps over the years with varying degrees of success but none that stuck and been someone i’ve wanted to spend the rest of my life with. i’ve finally decided to put myself back out there and see who and what i can find. i’ve started with the damn dating apps again but i don’t want that to be the only way i potentially have of finding someone. i have a pretty good friend group and live in the downtown area of my town. i try and keep myself out and about on the weekends with walking, bar hopping (not always drinking) and frequenting the farmers market and shops around so im a familiar face as ive heard that’s a good way to meet people.
i’m not sure what im doing wrong??? or if im even doing something wrong but anymore advice or tips?? i’ve also accepted maybe being alone forever is for me, while i don’t want that, it might just be what it is

Not sure if reddit is the best place to post this but anyways the internet has just been condensed down to a few social media hubs. I really cannot find myself bothered by 99 percent of the stupidity that goes on anymore. It's all trolling, saying things for shock value (very immature), and weird propaganda now. Since I've gotten into my 30's I've really started to value life experiences over wasting time on a screen. There used to be a million different websites that were all unique. Sadly that's gone away. It's just turned into tabloid tier attention grabbers and overstimulating idiotic junk.
I feel bad for the younger generation who have never known a life without social media or all this craziness with basically what's a second world to them.

Throughout my life as a '96 baby, I tried imagining what it would be like for people to be born in the 2000s. One of my youngest cousins was born in 2001, and I've always found it hard to imagine a significant amount of kids being younger than that. I assume most people have felt that way growing up, thinking they're the epitome of youth. We should all know that feeling is temporary.
I've had coworkers born in the mid 2000s, and have noticed the rise of younger folk with the expansion of newer social media platforms. Regardless of the obvious cultural takeover, I recently looked up the amount of people born each year, and was shocked to learn that 2000s babies outnumber us 90s babies. As a kid, I wouldn't have ever imagined us being outnumbered, but here we are. I actually find it really cool how many people grew up on stuff I couldn't imagine being a kid with. I can also brag about my age to cool younger folk 😎
There are ALSO a ton of younger gen z and older gen alpha people on Instagram and Reddit, based on what I've seen in the comment section. It's still a bit surprising how many people are younger than me now.

That's been me the past few years. I've been making more free time to play many of my favorite old video games from the Dreamcast/Gamecube/PS2/OG Xbox era (via modded old consoles and emulation on PC) that I enjoyed as a kid 20+ years ago and still manages to put a smile on my face as a grown adult now despite being someone who rarely expresses any emotion or affection IRL. That's been my one of my primary sources of escapism from a lot of my personal life challenges involving immediate family, job market, and money issues.

I recently landed a job doing something I both enjoy and can progress in. Granted, I found it at 30 and had to start university at 26 make the switch from my old career but im genuinely happier now. How bout you?

18 years went by yet that feeling of anticipation building up to this Finale is still very fresh in the mind. The hype was truly strong for this Finale the entire Week from that Monday to Saturday and an experience that I very much remember.
