FAQ (WIP)
• "Do I need to play the other Xenoblade Chronicles games to play Xenoblade Chronicles X?"
Xenoblade Chronicles X is largely standalone in the Xenoblade Universe. However, there is new content exclusive to the definitive edition that will only be understood by people who have played the other games in the series.
• "How many chapters are there in total?"
There are thirteen chapters total.
• "What division should I choose?"
In Xenoblade Chronicles X Definitive Edition, BLADE level mechanics have been removed, so which division you choose has no significant impact on gameplay or progression. Pick whichever one you want!
• "Which class should I pick?"
Striker, Samurai Gunner, and Duelist wield the Assault Rifle and Longsword. This is a straightforward combination of weapons and is recommended to new players, with the longsword having high damage and the assault rifle being a versatile weapon with high utility.
Shield Trooper and Bastion Warrior use the Gattling Gun, a high damage ranged weapon specialized at handling multiple enemies at once, and the shield, a great weapon for survivability but with low damage for the main story.
Commando, Winged Viper, and Full Metal Jaguar use Dual Guns and Dual Swords. This class is considered the fastest way to really take advantage of the game's mechanics, with dual guns being a self-sufficient weapon with high survivability while dual swords have a good mix of damage and utility arts and a focus on positional gameplay, much like Shulk in Xenoblade 1.
Partisan Eagle and Astral Crusader wield the Sniper Rifle, a very high damage weapon, and Javelin, a unique weapon with good options for survivability and a focus on electric damage.
Enforcer, Psycorruptor, and Mastermind wield the Raygun and Knife, both weapons with strong support options but with few strong damage options during the main story.
Blast Fencer and Galactic Knight wield Psycho Launchers, a weapon with strong options for utility and survivability but low damage, and the Photon Saber, a weapon that focuses on chaining multiple successive melee attacks together.
Once you've mastered the end of a class line you can use its weapons on any other class, meaning that after mastering all classes you can match any ranged weapon with any melee weapon. Experiment to find the combination that works best for you!
• "Why are there some arts I can't unlock by leveling up my class?"
Each recruitable party member has two arts exclusive only to them, but by completing their affinity missions, you can unlock those arts for yourself.
• "How do I get a Skell?"
Once you complete Chapter 6, the quest "The Skell License" will become available, which will give you the ability to get Skells for you and other members of your party.
• "How come my skell doesn't have any arts?"
The arts a skell has are determined by the weapons it has equipped in each of its Shoulder, Back, Arm, and Spare weapon slots. You can purchase these weapons in the shop or obtain them by defeating certain enemies.

Xenoblade Day 41: What's the worst final boss theme in the entire Xenoblade Chronicles series?
Winner of day 40: Without my own upvote, the result would've been a tie. I'm flabbergasted by how close this one was. But yeah, "Where We Used to Be" surpasses XC1's "Main Theme" as the most tear-jerking title theme (as I'm clicking "post").
Rules
- The top comment will be selected; upvote a suggestion if you wanted to write the same!
- If the winner has a night and day version and you don't specify which one you mean, I'll assume you mean the day one by default.
- If the winner has a remixed/definitive version, I'll put the name of the original to avoid taking to much space (except if you specify the new version only, of course).
- Even if it can be hard to choose sometimes, please only post one answer.
- I restrain myself from upvoting the takes I agree with, except in case of a tie. I will however leave a suggestion myself if I hold a theme really dear.
- Some boxes have no scheduled posts as I think they have no contender, let me know if you disagree.
- Let me know if you think I should make a new post to reconsider a specific box.
- A song can win in multiple columns.
Reminder: ANY phase from ANY final boss counts, even "raTEoREkiSImeAra" (battle against the Vita in OG XCX chapter 12).

Xenoblade What is your favorite Xenoblade Moment? (Any version)
My favorite is Xenoblade 1, when i just got to the big bad and felt great however when a you know what god pulls through and steals Shulks body and basically possess him I said to myself "ITS NOT DONE??? WHAT?" and in that moment that made me a Xenoblade Fan just due to EVERYTHING I thought what was gonna happen, just crush it with that plot twist, would love to relive that experience again.

Xenoblade 2 New dromarch in XC2 NS2?
So, I know the fandom right now is more about who the new blade is going to be, but if I remember right, the blade quest (and some heart-to-hearts) are between the blade, the driver and someone extra from the party, that means we will have new voice dialogues which is nice, but then I remember that dromarch's English voice actor passed away last year if I recall correctly.
So, would that mean we will have a recast for him? Or he won't be interacting with the new blade, and that would mean we won't hear him with a new voice?
I'm interested in the new blade but this is something I've been thinking about recently and I don't know if anyone has been talking about it before.

Xenoblade 3 What just...?
This is round 1 of the chain attack, I literally just started it. Yes, they were on Interlink level 3 and actually interlinked when this happened, but this never happened before

Meme Idea 10/10 execution -7/10
I wanted to get a really cool action shot of my Pyra cosplay from Xenoblade chronicles 2, but I ended up screwing my foot up real bad. It's now a week later and my foot is still blue...
Thankfully it's not broken.

Xenoblade Niche question: Does anybody know where I can find a good Xenoblade iron on/sew on patch?
I have a very niche question. I am doing a little project where I am gathering patches from all the things I love and sewing them onto a denim jacket, and I want to put as many patches on it as I can. However, I have been entirely unable to find a Xenoblade patch. There are a ton of pins around, but no patches as far as I can find. I thought I would ask here on the off chance that someone knows where I can find one.

Xenoblade Genesis XG Stand alones or cohesive narrative?
Do you guys think that any games with the Genesis moniker should follow a single cast of characters through one overall story (like saga) or follow Chronicles and have each game be it's own unique cast and story with nods and references to each other? Obviously 3 did ultimately tie it together but I would argue it's * possible " to play that one by itself just like X, 1, and 2.

Xenoblade Do you think I’ll like the first game when looking at my take on Xenoblade X?
Because X is quite a different game from the rest of the series, I was curious to hear your take. To me Xenoblade Chronicles X was decent, but in some ways not for me. Which kind of surprised me, because I often really enjoy JRPGs and open world games.
The good -
I really enjoyed the battle system. It felt refreshing and exciting. Adding the skells was a really nice twist.
I liked the complexity you could apply when approaching your build. Next to that, Frontiernav added a wonderful level of enjoyment.
The original scifi-take and the creative world building were sometimes awe inspiring. The premise of the story also really appealed to me.
The (to me) not so good -
The character development felt really lackluster. Dialogue was wasted on terrible tatsu jokes, instead of building a backstory and when the characters did get a bit more attention it felt rushed and uninspired. I didn’t feel any different about the protagonists when I finished the game.
There was also the practical side of the world design, the look and feel were great, but most of the time it all felt too cramped or too spacious. It never was just right. It didn’t help that the sheer number of animals made the world hard to navigate, but also unrealistic (if it makes sense to talk about realism in this context).
And finally - too many ‘go get/kill this’ kind of missions. It became tiresome quickly.
Bottom line - I just never felt immersed. And am now wondering if, as a JRPG fan, it’s worth to dive into the first game and give the franchise another shot. I’d love to hear your thoughts.
