I made this as a personal project for people like me, who are frustrated with the jankiness, ads, pay walls of current radar apps. I had to fix it. Dark Sky came close, but then was shut down.

The radar data this app uses is the same NOAA MRMS data that all of the other apps make you pay to see. I just do light post-processing and client side magic to make it fast to load and beautiful to animate.

10am and feels like 103. I’m unhappy!!!

I was shocked to see these extremely low precipitation supercells produce several tornadoes despite the mid-levels being incredibly dry. The sharp EML really made for some photogenic LP supercells.

I have noticed a decrease in the accuracy of precipitation prediction for even the 24-hour predictions for the Netherlands on many provider sites.

Is this because the patterns are becoming too chaotic, such that the existing algorithms based on long-term data do not work as well now as compared to 5 years ago, or something else?

My background is as a marketing manager for a weather provider (USA-based), 8 to 5 years ago.

Partly cloudy and breezy, with humidity and scattered thunderstorms. Some storms may produce strong gusty winds. High of 85°F (feels like 87°F). Winds from the southwest at 10-15 mph or more.

I just heard thunder an looked up the radar to this! Ive never seen it like this before. Is this common?!?

My weather app has been adding these weird blurbs about the weather instead of just telling me the weather. I assume they are AI because they are so random.
