Tech Support Export/Settings for Large LED Screen?

Thanks for your help on my novice question - I'm trying to figure out what size to make/output this so it's not blurry.

I design my company's trade show booth loops in Canva and have basic Premiere skills.

They're having some really large screens this time. In the past I've given them an mp4 for a larger than normal screen with 1920px x 1080px and they said it looked fine (though I did not see it in person).

First screen is 2976mm x 1984mm - (I think that comes out to a 3:2 ratio)
The large video wall is 1000in width x 1600in height (10:16...not 9:16, but they might be leaving buffer room)

Canva can do a 4K output. I can export/resize in Premiere if that's what's needed.

(Canva is annoying because you can't seamlessly do these exact aspect ratios, but I can design and re-size after the transitions are in.)

I guess my specific questions are -
Should I export this in 4k?
Design this as large as possible as close to that aspect ratio as possible...?
Will uploading/re-exporting it in H.264 in Premiere make a difference?

Or, if there are other specific questions I should ask the booth-builders, I appreciate you letting me know.

How did they do that? How was this "magic" food video made? Looking for a VFX/editing breakdown.

Hi everyone,

I found this short food video and I'm trying to understand how it was made.

I'm not asking how to recreate it exactly—I just want to understand the techniques involved.

Some effects that confuse me:

Fruits appear instantly as if by magic.

A milk carton is squeezed, and at the exact same moment the blender jar suddenly fills with milk. The milk doesn't just appear—it rushes and splashes naturally, as if it was really poured.

Around 15–17 seconds, the blender jar is sitting on the table without any visible blender base or motor, but the liquid inside forms a realistic blending vortex, just like a real blender.

The entire video contains many impossible-looking transitions.

Is this VFX, CGI, compositing, hidden practical effects, or something else?

I'd love a shot-by-shot breakdown. Thanks!

Workflow Real Estate Edit Presets

Hey guys, I hope you're doing well! I'm currently working on real estate videos, like the ones from 4hoursemenmedia.

I'm looking for a preset pack for After Effects to speed up my workflow, but I couldn't find one.

Does anyone know where I can buy one? It would be great if it were free, but that's not mandatory.

Thanks!

Other (requires mod approval) Help with flickers 2 second clip

Hi everyone,
I recorded this short video on my iPhone, but it has noticeable LED light flicker throughout part of the clip.
I’ve already tried Premiere Pro, exposure keyframes, frame blending, and several other methods, but I couldn’t get rid of it.
Would anyone with Digital Anarchy Flicker Free, DaVinci Resolve Studio, or any other professional deflicker tool be willing to process this 5-second clip?

Hi, I make radio-style videos for YouTube. I’ve always used Filmora to edit them, but since the latest update, the app has started lagging while I edit. I wanted to know if there’s a similar alternative where I can...

Tech Support Help for export settings

I am quite new to shotcut and video editing in general.

I recorded around 100 GB of 2,7 k, 60 FPS video material on my go pro 8 on a 128 gb sd card.

I am using a macbook, with 16 gb ram and 248 gb disk space.

The raw video files are on an external sd card. The cutted film length is around 55 minutes.

For export settings I used: 100 % quality, 2560 x 1440 resolution, and h264_ and hevc_videotoolbox activated. I read, that these settings are good for a decent solution on youtube.

After I started the export progress onto my internal macbook disk, I am at 30 % progress at already 120 gb of video. This sounds wrong to me. Can you please help me? Should I use other settings? Or another external drive?

Free Stuff Do you think the rise of yapping-style editing is making video editors less valuable?

I actually like this editing style for a lot of niches, but it feels like videos are getting more and more raw, and people seem to prefer that now.

Since this style is way easier to edit, it got me wondering if it's making video editors less valuable. The skill floor is much lower, so it's a lot easier to put out something that looks decent.

What I mean is that more creators will probably start asking for this style, and a lot of them might even edit their own videos instead of hiring someone. If that happens, editing prices could end up dropping over time.

Just to be clear: I'm talking about the overall trend, not saying every niche or every project is gonna be like this.

Workflow [OC] I fixed Davinci Resolve on Linux

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Those who use davinci resolve on linux definitely know about the issues with AAC and H.264 codecs, drag 'n' drops, and some other bugs. I wonder why nobody has done this before and used bash to manually convert the media, considering how many people were affected by this problem

It works as wrapper that currently:

  • Automatically converts unsupported codecs on import
  • Fixes broken drag 'n' drops
  • Fixes pasting from clipboard

Now the linux experience with resolve should be nearly the same as on windows/mac. Enjoy!

Tested on hyprland with a studio verison, feel free to open a PR if it doesn't work on your setup

Tech Support Alternative to Mettle FreeForm Pro for creating 3D terrain with GEOlayers

Hi everyone,

I'm currently working on a map animation in After Effects featuring an island with a mountain range.

The goal is to have a camera starting from a top-down view, slowly descending toward the island, then tilting to reveal the island and its mountainous terrain from the side. A route is then animated through the mountain range.

I'm currently using GEOlayers 3, which works great for generating the map, borders, and animating geographic elements.

The problem is that the map is completely flat. As soon as the camera tilts, the illusion breaks and the result becomes much less convincing.

My original plan was to use Mettle FreeForm Pro to generate real 3D terrain from a height map.

Unfortunately, the plugin is now obsolete/incompatible with the latest versions of After Effects, so I can't use it anymore.

I'm therefore looking for an alternative that can create convincing terrain while working alongside GEOlayers.

Ideally I'm looking for:

  • a plugin or script compatible with recent versions of After Effects.
  • something that integrates well with GEOlayers.
  • or even a native After Effects workflow for turning a 2D map into believable 3D terrain.

I'm also open to a hybrid workflow (Blender, Cinema 4D, etc.) as long as the integration with GEOlayers remains relatively straightforward.

If anyone has done something similar, I'd really appreciate your recommendations.

Thanks in advance!

Other (requires mod approval) Bought Filmora 15 Perpetual and honestly feeling disappointed

Am I the only one who feels disappointed after buying the Filmora 15 perpetual license?

This was my first ever paid editing software purchase, and I honestly expected a lot more. It feels like almost every good title, lower third, transition, filter, or template is locked behind another subscription. On top of that, so many features now ask for AI credits.

I understand charging separately for AI features, but why are so many non AI creative assets also locked? At times it feels like I paid mainly to remove the watermark and unlock basic editing like trim, split, and export.

Is this just how Filmora works now, or am I missing something? How are people using Filmora without paying for Creative Assets as well?

Tech Support Fastest way to batch convert Sony a6700 10-bit 4:2:2 clips for mobile editing (CapCut Android)?

Hey everyone,

I’m hitting a bottleneck in my mobile workflow and looking for the fastest way to batch-convert my camera footage so it works on Android.

Camera: Sony a6700 (shooting 10-bit 4:2:2 XAVC)

Goal: Edit on my Galaxy Tab S10+ in CapCut Android

The Problem: CapCut Android gives a black screen / unsupported format error on raw 10-bit 4:2:2 clips.

Current Bottleneck: Converting 50+ 4K camera clips directly on the tablet takes forever. I have a Windows PC (Surface Pro) available to act as a encoding hub, but I want to minimize conversion times as much as possible.

My questions:

What software/preset gives the absolute fastest conversion speed on PC while maintaining solid quality for mobile editing? (HandBrake vs. Shutter Encoder vs. FFmpeg scripts vs. Paid options)?

What exact output settings (H.264 8-bit 4:2:0, bitrate, resolution) strike the best balance between quick encode times and clean quality in CapCut?

Is it faster to re-encode to 1080p proxies first, edit on the tablet, and swap files later, or just batch convert everything to 8-bit 4K H.264 up front?

Appreciate any insight or encoding recipes you use!

Hardware Perks of Nvidia over AMD gpus?

Building my first ever PC for editing and gaming and have asked around in r/buildapc about build recommendations. One suggestion was to get the 9060xt for its mid price value, but then I got steered back to Nvidia (5070 or 5060ti) because supposedly Nvidia offers an upper hand in the video editing realm. Can someone explain the actual value of Nvidia over AMD cards if I'm just using Davinci Resolve free version? I mostly stick to 1080p but I would like to comfortably edit 4k. Long duration videos (1hr+) would also be a requirement for me.

Any assistance on this is appreciated. I'm trying not to make a mistake while buying parts for the first time, but I also end up with a larger price tag every time I revise my list. So, if there's no major difference and no major reason to upgrade to a 5070, please let me know. Thanks.

(Note: for reference, I am thinking about getting a ryzen 9600x core)

Hiring SCAMMER ALERT!!!

I'm a video editor. This person and I connected on Reddit and agreed on payment terms. He then started sending me all the project details. I made the video according to his requirements, and once the project was finished, I delivered it to him. Afterward, I kept messaging him for payment, but he didn't respond at all. When I started to feel suspicious, I deleted my project but by then it was too late, because he had already downloaded the project and deactivated his account I've shared some screenshots above So everyone please be very careful because these days there are a lot of scammers around. so don't waste your valuable time and hard work on people like this

Tech Support I don't understand what's going on with my premiere and I need help

So I just started to try editing a video today but everytime I go to open the project or do anything with it after creating it the fans on my pc start up really loud and then my entire pc just completely turns itself off and shuts down as if I hit shut down in my settings or pressed the power button on it.

I've had other issues with premiere before like lagging and freezing but I've basically never had it completely shut down my pc. Sorry I don't really have footage of it happening cause its kinda hard to record footage on a pc when it just suddenly turns itself off

I'm using premiere pro 2026 version 26.3 with

CPU - Intel Core i5 6500 @ 3.20GHz

RAM - 16.0GB Dual-Channel DDR4 @ 1066MHz

GPU - ATI Radeon (TM) RX 470 Graphics

VRAM - 4096 MB

How did they do that? F1 Ghost car recreation?

Hey guys im trying to edit this video for a racer and he was wanting something like the F1 "ghost car" they have overlayed with the 2nd place qualifiers video (video link for reference) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NhK-OTt6mVc .

I wanted to know if you guys had any Ideas of how to make this happen? I was thinking I could download the track on to something like the game (assetto corsa) and then run the lap (or simulate the lap) as close to the fast lap as possible and then over lay it onto the slower lap and just nudge the opacity down a few peg?? it wouldn't be as refined as the F1 ghost car but I don't really know where I could take this?

Is there any software that would be able to take a video and make a 3D render off what you have given it? Thanks in advance I don't really know where else I could take this question.

( here are a few more things before anyone askes these questions)

Yes - The camera is mounted in the same position on both clips

Yes- I have the GPS data of the cars and the map has been put with that

Workflow How do solo creators manage editing everything themselves?

I create content on my own and I manually edit everything myself. Between organizing footage, cutting clips, adding graphics, and putting together the final version, editing often takes up a large part of the process.

For people who handle their own editing, what systems or habits have helped make the process more efficient?

Other (requires mod approval) Capcut made me trial and charged me and don’t let me cancel easily

Just sharing experience - I have been experimenting different AI video platforms and thought would give capcut a go. Now, I decided I want to cancel the trail subscription and realised capcut made it impossible for me to cancel because that option cannot be found at all. I was also forced to use applepay when I first subscribed. I don’t know if revoking Apple Pay permission will stop auto billing but will see.

How did they do that? Need help making an edit like this in CapCut (or another free app)

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hi! I’m trying to make a specific edit, but I’m not sure how it was made.

I mainly use Capcut, so if it’s possible to do there, I’d really appreciate a tutorial or an explanation. If it isn’t possible in CapCut, I’m also open to using another free editing app, like Blurr, or any other free editor.

If anyone knows how to make it, I’d really appreciate it if you could either explain it step by step or send a screen recording of you doing it, since I learn a lot better by seeing the process.

Thanks so much for any help!
