Hello everyone

I got Uni2 around a month ago mostly because of the songs but also because I wanted to try my luck in fighting games. Turns out that I'm struggling real hard with the game and I'm losing interest in the game. Every match feels the same, I get one attack off, I get combo'd and 12 seconds later the match is over. I tried training and missions but I can barely do that at 25 speed let alone at 100.

My question is there a real reason to continue grinding and getting zero enjoyment or should I just cut my losses?

I had hoped that IW would KO. Curse you, damage scaling, for ruining my Score Attack finale!

As the title says im confused what tis input or what it is asking me to do after 214b.

Basically rushdown character not too hard to use

I need his stupid ass air fireball to lose the blood puddle, I need his overheads removed completely, I need all his moves to take more health. Why does this fucker even have a invincible DP?!?!? Isn't he supposed to be all about offense? That shit should be combo filler at best! Get that shit out of here! Hold that Oki, fucker!

Also what the fuck is with the fullscreen projectiles?! He needs to be bad at something he can't have amazing neutral, amazing corner carry, amazing oki, amazing defense, amazing range, AND good anti airs! BREAK HIS KNEES! DO HIM LIKE YOU DID CHAOS, FRENCH BREAD

do you guys have any ideas where the overall franchise can go next? during some arcade storylines i noticed characters that were unplayable that i think might be added to the roster eventually, one was a vampire and the other was some robot i believe but whats do you guys think

Just btw I'm completely new to fighting games and UNI2 is my first.

As you can see in the video just going through the tutorial and I really seem to be struggling to combo from my jump heavy to low light.

I'm not sure if its me or a keyboard thing or what, but any tips would be amazing, thanks!

Also I dash before the combo as it helps me be a little consistent if that's bad also let me know lol

I have been looking at the combo trials for the characters I am interested in and it feels like every combo in here is entirely different for each situation. Its a barrage of information that gives you two or three words of guidance on how it supposed to be used. Each combo is wildly different from one another too.

Is that just how things are in this game? Do I really need to memorize entirely different routing for each situation and starter at this stage when Im still just picking the game up?

I was hoping that I would be able to find a combo that is simple and somewhat multipurpose, with a different beginning based on starter that then converges into a common ending so that theres less memorization work. Is there such a thing?

I noticed that in this game you can continue combos after OTG up to two times. Is this the opportunity to converge a specialized starter into a generic body and ender?

I am a firm believer that combos are like brainrot for beginner players. If Im drilling combos then Im not focusing on what is really important which is practicing neutral, gaining mu knowledge, deeply understanding the unique system mechanics.

Does anyone have any suggestions, tips, links to guides, or any other two cents to put in about this topic? Thank you very much.

TLDR: Help me find easy combos so that I can focus on learning neutral.

Just got the game from the Humble Bundle, and it wont open in Steam.

Opening from exe I get this error.

I've reinstalled, integrity checked. Nothing
Directx is up to date.
Disabled Avast. Nothing.

Full disclosure, this was my attempt at buying a game I originally had illegitimately. That copy worked. So I know the game runs on my system.

Specs:

7800x3D

7900 GRE (drivers up to date)

32GB RAM

I am in d rank getting hit with 20 hit combos at the least. I've even done combat trials to learn my character, but it just seems like everyone is way more insane here than any other fighting game I've played. I fought a kaguya today who hit me with a 40 hit combo. Is my only recourse seriously to just play offline until I'm good? That's boring and dumb and I don't want to do that.

For background my main fighting game is ggst (baiken main) and i only have like 200 hours, here are some questions i have after starting to play uni2

1.)what are major things i should expect to be different from strive (for example ive noticed this game has pretty good crossup protection)

2.) Is there a downside to an a+b macro for dashing it seems to be less responsive than just doing '66' but idk if that is just a skill issue

3.)shield seems pretty strong but i feel like i should wait to use it till i start to understand characters bnbs so i dont get grd broke, is that a good idea?(besides some projectiles i use it for rn)

4.)i found a site called mizuumi wiki, im planning on playing seth cause he seems cool af, is this site accurate with info and do you have any players you would reccomened to check out?

This might be a stupid question and i apologise if it is. However, I seem to be having issues connecting to other peoples rooms i was told the room code was 123, and I entered it into the keyword section but nothing. Unless I'm being really silly how is it supposed to work?

I’ve done a bunch of trouble shooting such as running as administrator through the .exe, I’ve re installed the game, verified integrity of game files, disconnected all controllers including the game pad, updated all drivers and windows. If I run through the .exe it says “failure:steam initialized” then it opens it again then it was “failure: already running”. It was working on my main pc last night and I wanted to try it on my ROG but it just won’t work. Any help is appreciated.

Watching some videos on it the art also caught my eye, the high resolution pixel art is really an underrated style IMO
