Semester Gap

I am an international student studying bachelor in civil engineering(Honours). Just finished the 1st semester of my third year recently. I have been going through some stuff in my personal life recently and would like to take a semester gap or reduced study load and take 2 courses for this semester. My questions are:

1)Will there be any problem with my visa extension in the future?

2)I still haven’t completed my 3 month(12 weeks)mandatory internship. Can I do it in the summer of 2027(I will have 1 semester left if I take the semester gap) or will it be too late then?

Accelerated diploma acceptance offer

Title: Advice for an international student considering UTS Engineering?
Hi everyone,
I’m an international student from the UAE and I’ve received an offer for the Diploma of Engineering (Accelerated) at UTS [8 months], followed by a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) in Mechatronic Engineering. [ 3 years]
I’m currently deciding between UTS and other universities, so I’d really appreciate hearing from current students or graduates. The reason I’m considering UTS is that it’s approved by my government and that the duration of study is shorter than both uni’s.
A few questions:
1.)how is the environment at UTS
2.)Is life in Sydney expensive as a student looking to live independently?
3.)Looking back, would you choose UTS again?

I also have offers from UNSW (starting in January) and Monash (starting this October) — what would you recommend?

I’d really appreciate any honest advice—both the positives and the negatives. Thanks in advance!

Special consideration for in-class test🥲

Hey guys. I have an in-class practical test (25%) on 1 September, but I’ll be in Hong Kong for my MCAT on 3 September. If I apply for Special Consideration with my flight itinerary and MCAT confirmation, is there any chance it would be approved?
Just wondering if anyone has had a similar experience or knows whether this would be considered a valid reason for Special Consideration. Thanks!
