U2 - American Obituary

Street of Dreams has reached 2 millions listens in 2 weeks. That's about 6 million less than You're the Best Thing About Me in a similar time. Any reason why the drop off?

A few years ago, pre covid. I was on vacations in LA. I stumbled into a gift shop that had pop culture prayer candles. Musicians, actors, etc. Bono and Chewbacca where there. I missed the opportunity to buy them because I was too afraid to carry them on the plane and the damage risk. I have been regretting that decision for over 7 years.

Once in a while I search the internet, Amazon, ebay, Etsy, etc. When I get some results they are, either low quality and crappy designs or they don't ship worldwide (mexico).

Has anyone bought something similar and can give me pointers to an online store? They would look great at my homeoffice 😁

Edit: to keep it even more music related I was in LA to catch my first ever show by The Ocean Blue. Great band, heavily influenced by post punk and new romantic. Great guys. If you watch some of their videos for their third album, specially Don't Believe Everything you hear, there's a clear Achtung Baby influence in the message.

Found in a box in my parent’s basement. I took this from the record store I worked at when the album came out. They said not too.. but I did anyway. Cause that’s punk rock!

Been a U2 fan for 40 years. Seen them maybe 10 times. My first concert being a day on the green in 1987 with the pretenders. I can’t believe my parents let me go. I had to beg them. I wish I had photos from that.

every year since release has been a slow but eventual journey to cherishing POP in its entirety. listening to it front to back today after a while. cannot help but be moved by bono's lyrics, vocals, the production, the edge was on fire, adam was feeling it and larry more subtle. what is even happening on mofo and miami? was it the closest they were to bring coked out? but then you have tender/sober stuff like if you wear that velvet dress. arena U2 rear their head very briefly in last night on earth. everything else feels like it's directed at the nocturnal. immensely thankful it exists.
