No matter how many times I rewatch, I’ll always love terry and have a huge soft spot for him. He gives grace to every single person around him. He has his dirty laundry but he fights every day to make sure he does good for himself. He loves Arlene and Rene’s kid, plus Lisa and Coby more than anything. He endlessly supports and shows love to people in hard times, comforted Sam, Sookie, Jason, and Andy when they were going through it. He fought his battles, came back with ptsd, continued fighting his battles, but he’s still a stellar man. I’m team terry forever

There's a lot that can be said regarding season 5 but one thing I never really see talked about is the sibling relationship of Sookie and Jason.

You get moments in all seasons where the love for each other shines through but I see it especially in Season 5. The two actors have a very believable sibling energy between them amd the quiet moments the two of them have on screen together always stand out to me.

[SPOILERS AHEAD UP TO SEASON 4]

So i am on my first watch through of the show and have been loving it so far! I think season 1 & 2 are so incredibly well written and the actors are so charismatic im shocked that i never watched this back when it was coming out!! BUT, I am in the middle of season 4 and there is unfortunately a stand out contender for my least favorite character in the show, and that is surprisingly our main character Sookie...

I may be alone with this, but she comes off as arrogant, petulant, selfish, and just a big bully over these last few seasons. I really can't understand why anyone really ever puts up with her aside from the vampires, and even then it seems like the only reason they like her is the fae blood and her mind reading abilities. Her and Tara are just straight up awful to each other, they both have a problem with just being entirely unable to put themselves in the others shoes, but for some reason are still best friends. she is awful to Lafayette, just ignoring him a lot of the time and being willfully blinded to his plights and his abuse at the hands of Eric and Pam. She is an awful employee and Sam just let's her do whatever she wants whenever she wants at the cost to everyone else, I thought that would change after his crush on her died a bit but it really never does. She seems empathetic towards Jason but only so much as it suits her, or gives her something to hold over him. It feels like she thinks she is so much smarter or above the other human characters, the way she treats all the townsfolk / people at Merlotte's as being so stupid considering she's really not that different. She has extreme boundary issues with every single person on the show, bullying her way into their lives while they actively beg her to leave them alone. This ultimately ends up with a lot of people getting hurt and her just skipping away. She often relies on the emotional hold she has over people to get her out of trouble, run into a burning building? Bill will save me. Run into a werewolf den? Alcid will save me. Do the stupidest most dangerous thing that everybody has warned you about? Yeah the whole town will show out just to pluck her out of trouble. I could go on and on.

Maybe I'm just frustrated with her these last 2 seasons and it's boiling over. But IMO she is a genuinely volatile friend / partner. She has her moments but so often refuses to be empathetic or think things through and it seems to continuously implode the lives of the people around her. And they WILL NOT LEAVE HER ALONE. Don't get me wrong i think she's gotten way more mature and responsible over the course of the show, and i generally like her relationships with non-human characters! But it feels like she's just a plot device to get certain people to certain locations sometimes because they're obsessed with her for whatever reason and it's annoying. Am I alone in this???? Please feel free to tell me im wrong, maybe im just forgetting a bunch of things or missed out on some nuance idk...

I feel like the books would do her a lot of justice, maybe i should pick those up?

S5E22 Was suprised to see she's Allie. Was even better when she & Finch talk about Buffy the Vampire Slayer. And to to top it off a few seconds later, Finch called her a bloodsucker!

I watched the show first when it aired and I was a teen. I was pretty much obsessed back then. I also read and own the books.

Currently rewatched and I had a lot of fun with it. My opinions haven't much changed over the years except that I don't find Bill as annoying and ugly as I used to as a teen lol. Stephen is not an ugly man after all.

I still think they should have used Bill more as a background character after season 3 but he especially should have never been a romantic option for Sookie again after season 3 either. It felt way too forced and probably only done because the actors are a real life couple. Bad decision. Sookie in the books didn't even think twice about him after breaking up.

I'm still a big Eric and Sookie shipper but I would have been ok with them not being endgame if the show would have at least given them a fair chance. What they did with them after s4 was just disappointing.

There was no need at all to kill off Alcide and Tara. Awful decision. Also Alcide would have been a fine endgame for Sookie instead of some random guy. The ship was a bit boring for me to actual root for them but they were ok and would have made sense.

The Hoyt and Jessica ending felt just as bad as what they tried to force with Bill and Sookie. Made no sense anymore after everything that happened.

Hated what they did with Terry's character and how he died. No need for that at all. They should have just kept him as a background character instead.

Also hated the fae storyline a lot. They should have gone with some storylines from the books instead.

Anyway that's all I can think of for now.

My top 5 characters: Eric, Lafayette, Jessica, Sookie and Tara (probably unpopular bc this subreddit seems to hate them). Also honorable mention to Pam.

Im sorry to say but sookie is the dumbest white girl ever and she is very annoying, shes ms goodie good girl she wines alot she doesn't know love if it slap her in the head. Dont get me wrong I love the show but I wish she wasnt so nieve and stupid.

I’m completely lost. Not to mention I’m losing overall interest in the show. From what I read in the comments it’s all downhill from here.

Kind of bums me out, but I’m usually pretty good at keeping tabs on interweaving story threads, but I’m just not getting it.

They just wrote Hoyte off it looks like. Jessica’s glamoring him to forget her was maybe the most heartfelt moment this season.

Hello! I haven't posted in this subreddit before. I watched a portion of True Blood growing up, and now that I'm an adult in watching it again. I was born and raised in Shreveport, Louisiana. And while I was at goodwill today I found this Fangtasia shot glass! It's pretty cool. The only other True Blood "merch" I have ever found was piles upon piles of box sets everyone had and I guess resold to game exchange and other physical media stores. So I thought that was pretty neat and wanted to share!

I am a southerner who loves vampire anything and somehow only recently came upon this show. 2 seasons in and am obsessed. I noticed there are many season and am wondering if it’s worth watching the whole way through? Was the show suddenly cancelled at the end or does it have a thought out/closure inducing ending?

Was Alex Skarsgard ill in the last episode? I couldn't find anything about it online, but that man definitely wasn't tip top shape for the New Blood montage. He was slurring over his "S"s and his bottom jaw was rigid as concrete when he spoke, partner and I both noticed almost immediately as we both thought him fine as wine for the whole show

She's in the cold open of BONES, in the 'Boy In The Time Capsule' episode as one of the bystanders when a school opens a time capsule from the 80s. She didn't have the Pam makeup on, but you can't hide that gorgeous face and hair.

Although it been awhile since I’ve seen the show I’ve gotta say that I really started to hate Andy near the end of the show. Alot of his bad behavior was in no small part due to his rotten Wiccan Girlfriend who seemed just as heartless as her sister was on Seinfeld during that funeral.

After Jessica killed his daughters Andy went over to Bill’s house and found his daughters checking their vitals but wouldn’t even approach Charlaine, not even checking for a pulse. Charlaine was the cute one wearing The Merlot’s Waitress Shirt.

I’ve scoured the internet looking for an answer to this but to no avail. I’m actually surprised that not a single fan out there has pondered that question.

The way I see it breaks down is as follows: Faeries age at a much slower rate than humans but Adilynn matured at a far greater speed than humans so I figured that her aging process would slow down at least enough to allow her to live to about 100 to make up for the 20 years she already lost. That seems fair ie doesn’t it?

If Sookie is “Rogue” you know the one mutant that sucks the life out of everybody, “and what a trail of bodies she leaves behind” then Lettie Mae season 6-7 has got to be “The Wolverine.”

Seriously just think about how long that psycho mother is going to live now that she‘s on the vampire blood. Since she’s married to the preacher she‘s living clean and the vampire blood probably washed away a lifetimes worth of liver and brain damage etc. And the injuries she was walking from without a scratch from the vampire attack at Bellfleurs to the stove burn she seriously needs to start wearing yellow.

Does anyone else find Lilith to be kind of terrifying ?? Her appearing covered in blood naked (not complaining ab that) especially her snarls and just about everything about her freaks me out lol and dont get me started on those 3 naked vampire henchmen of hers who appear in s6.. are they supposed to her progenies or was that just Lilith manifesting herself

Fact: 80% Of all great great great great granddaughter relationships have a 100% success rate. It always seemed a bit odd of Bill with all the lines he’s crossed not the least of which having sex with his maker after twisting her neck to all of a sudden draw the line of decency at this arbitrary one.

In actuality all of his progeny including Jessica were better suited as potential mates than Sookie. In fact since all the Belfleur girls were half fairie as well you would think that Sookie would kind of fall by the wayside; she was kind of a flake anyway.

I don’t know what the writers were thinking when they put in Earl Stackhouse just to kill him off two seconds after he gets home. I think Alan Ball has some problem with strong male patriarchs because he did the exact same thing with Nathaniel Fisher Senior in the first episode of Six Feet Under.

Granted their are time constraints with multiple storylines but at least let the man go into town for awhile and see his grandson hang out at Merlot’s maybe get seduced by a lady Vampire.

And the same thing with Niall Brigant too. Sookie never showed him any respect couldn’t even put some meat and cheese in his pasta or even let him enjoy his dinner just hi and goodbye.

In a show with incredible characters he is definitely my favorite. He stole every scene he was in. A talent gone way too soon but thank you, Nelsan Ellis, for leaving us Lafayette.

I rewatched it out of context recently and like yes there were problems and it wasn't as good as the start. Duh. Like it was time for the show to wrap because the wheels were starting to come off in terms of the writing. But, there were some things I like about it and was it overall a horrible season of TV except the finale which was so tonally 'off' and felt like such a non-event overall? No.

- My god, James. True Blood did not mess up the recast. I've rarely seen one that worked so well. He wasn't a huge screentime character, but still felt so lived-in. He'd have been awesome to introduce at any point in the show. He felt like an original. I loved both his and Lafayette's quieter moments talking about his backstory and the drama (you know the one) brought back early season vibes. When all's said and done S7 James might be one of my favourite side characters on the show full-stop.

- They did Tara dirty, but I'm not actually mad at the late-stage explanation for some of Lettie Mae's issues and the final-final goodbye between her and Tara was actually pretty touching. I know some fans viewed that as an excuse and that it didn't redeem a lot of her behaviour throughout the show, but at least OOC when I watched it I was a bit like 'oh, makes sense.' Plus overall they really nailed the goodbye scene in an individual sense I thought.

- The one detail of the pair-up with Keith for Arlene was shallow and rushed no doubt (he's handsome AF though so I allow it) but overall this whole season showed her character growth in a nice way.

- I kind of like Jason's end-point in theory even if the execution was imperfect. So I kind of allow it. A character like Brigette that starts off more wholesome and platonic was good for him. If only they hadn't squeezed almost all of that into just a couple of episodes, but eh. Side-note, it was nice casting again. I especially bought Hoyt and Brigette initially as a couple. Again their dynamic felt quite lived-in to me despite limited screentime.

Im currently rewatching and I got to the point where they killed Tara. It genuinely bothers me that this is how she went out. And we didn’t even get to see. I love the show don’t get me wrong but I felt like Tara character was done dirty in a sense. I felt like she was just getting the grasp of being a vampire , reconnecting with her mom and her friends. Despite everything and her not wanting to be one. It just sucks
