Ever since I cleaned up the scoot and take off I'm getting a really high gainer. From the scoot setup do you also push the hips forward? I'm not too sure how to experiment with the move to get a better inversion.

so I've just recently relearn the backflip but I encountered a new problem which is is jumping and landing to my left every time. I tried doing drills like jumping and tuck straight, jump and roll on a high block but still can not fix this problem because it seems to only happen when i commit and do the actual backflip. what drills should I do to fix this problem? I find it hard because it's something I just do subconciously.

Hi community I'm new here, I'm 38 and looking to learn some skills, my first goal is to learn how to cheat gainer, is learning how to before the 15th of August a realistic time frame to learn, I don't have access to trampolines or mats to practice so will be learning on grass, anyway here's a video of me on my first day trying, I just can't seem to understand how I go backwards instead of sideways, any help would be appreciated thanks.

A little less than two months ago, I injured my wrist trying to do a jump on a wet surface from the rain, haha, I slipped and landed on my palm, unable to do a roll. It hurt my wrist so badly that I couldn't put any weight on it for the first week XD

QUESTION Backtuck form and drill critique

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I think I may lack explosiveness. When I don’t fully extend my hips, I can tuck more easily, but with full extension I either lose air awareness, get scared, or can’t bring my knees up fast enough.

A nice guy at open gym suggested these drills. Also, is it safe to keep looking down during a back tuck, or could that affect my set and rotation?

QUESTION I have a performance in 1 month. What can I realistically work towards?

Hi all, I'm a Taekwondo black belt who has a performance in a month and was wondering what can I realistically work towards to level up my performance? For reference, my current "most impressive" trick is a consistent c720 and I'm working towards a c900.

I don't have any experience tumbling, tricking, gymnastics, or bboy. Most, if not all, of my preexisting tricks come from taekwondo.

I just want to know whether there any tricks that look impressive, are flashy, and are relatively reasonable for someone with my background to learn in 1 month? In terms of tricks that are more like flips rather than spinning around the axel like I do for my c720.

Thank you!

FORM CHECK Backflips

Been able to back tuck for years but lately I’ve been locked into getting them proper.

I’ve had a bad habit of stutter jumping and spreading my legs before jumping. A weird fear thing. I’m finally starting to break that habit, but I notice I land pretty wide out of my round off still.

I also can’t seem to help throwing myself back rather than up on my set. Another mental block to overcome I suppose

Advice welcome

FORM CHECK Help with inverting TDR?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

1st clip: This is where I’ve got to when performing it on floor, I would like to be fully inverted so that my arm is pressed against my ear and i’m coming out in complete stance so that I can progress onto swinging out of it.

2nd clip: This is an example of my typical bad TDR where the left arm and left leg are not inline at all upon landing. It’s not far off the first clip, as both have a problem in the set up where if I attempt to spot forwards, I still end up too sideways and I can’t seem to recover into a complete stance, whereas I feel like it should look more like the start of a gumbi which doesn’t seem to happen.

3rd clip: This is more the inversion I am looking for (albeit still not a great TDR) but I cannot seem to get this on the floor no matter how many attempts. I would have posted any tricker’s good inverted TDR here but thought best to keep to my own clips.

I do a bit of analysis on mine and others clips and I recognise that the leg should be coming higher up, potentially by delaying and keeping hips straight before twisting longer. But I have also seen different TDR’s all at different inversions that share the fact they come out with left arm and leg inline and providing power in the DOM to swing into the next trick, so it doesn’t appear to be the whole story.

Any advice or thoughts from people with a nicely inverted TDR or good coaching skills would be helpful and appreciated šŸ™ thank you

I dont know if this is the correct forum for this but do you guys have any good videos or something on how to learn backflipping preferably on ground, and where should I learn it first, on trampoline or ground
