So basically this is my journey on minoxidil foam twice a day and 1 mg fin daily. Could you guys let me know if i’m a hyper responder?

At least fable have not been able to tackle the hairloss problem

I think I was at almost Norwood 3 with a lot of diffuse thinning in March.

Started on minoxidil (topical liquid 5% 2x/daily) and finasteride (oral 1.25mg daily) in april. Also doing microneedling (dermapen 0.75mm at the hairline, 1mm on the scalp) and the ketokonazol shampoo (2x/weekly).

Seems like a decent amount has grown back. Hoping for more density gains overall in the coming months. Kinda scared that I just had some early results and that it'll slow down drastically now.

Anyways, I'm thankful for the results I have thus far 🙏

I am 23 and have noticed my hairline creeping back for the past 5 years or so. My density is still strong (i think), but my forehead is fucking giant now. My maternal grandfather had a very big forehead and is norwood 3 now at 81, but i still dont want to risk potentially going bald in my 20s!

I have a couple questions regarding finasteride:

1)how will it affect my gym performance and body if at all?

2)does finasteride act as a 'pause button'? As in, if i stop taking it after 7 years, will all my hair fall out as if I never took it, or will the hairloss to resume at the same pace?

3) im worried; i dont want to be on this for life. Can someone reassure me :/

Edit : 4) is 23 too young to take finasteride if im a late developer? I hit puberty at 14 and it has been very protracted

So I work with young people (16-19yo) as a driving instructor and what I noticed is early signs of diffuse thinning in a lot of young guys and also retrograde alopecia. Do you think modern diet is the main cause of this ?
Also its interesting how average testosterone is much lower than before so there should be less dht therefore less balding but opposite is true.
This further supports the idea that balding is some kind of auto-immune disease and yeah, reducing DHT with drugs helps but if the androgens receptor in our follicles were not as sensitive due to some kind of abnormality in our body, there would be no need of suppressing the DHT.

More like 5.5 months, but I figured I would post progress. 1mg daily, have missed a few days at a time, probably about 1.5 weeks total. Going to go until one year and then will probably reevaluate/consider deusteride.

Hey guys, this question is aimed to people from Europe. In Germany I pay A LOT everytime I need to refill my finasteride (70€ for ninety pills + 20€ from doctors consultation in ZAVA) Is there any trick or way to get it cheaper? (of course with safety assured). I know its pretty cheap in the US but here is crazy expensive, I dont understand why. Is there a way to order from another country a recieve them here? (legally ofc) Thank you in advance!

PD: At least in Germany and Spain you need a doctors recipe to be able to buy these pills

Hello guys, Ive been using 1.25 fin and applying topical min in my hairline only for already 1 year and counting, not changes in my hairline. I'm only experiencing receeding hairline at temples.

So this has been my 2 month progress so far. I'm using all topical, DIY finasteride (0.025%) + minoxidil 5% and 0.5% pyrilutamide.

My protocol is 4 days a week 8 sprays of pyrilutamide and 3 ml of the fin mix. On weekends i use 3ml of the fin mix twice (6ml total) and no pyrilutamide.

I feel like my hair is much better, even when i buzz short or is wet. A family member asked if i was dying my hair and a coworker said that i might be using hair fibers, so i'm not the only one to notice.

So far i haven't had any significant side efects. I did a week of oral finasteride but it gave me intense gyno pain and mild ball ache. I dropped and re-started with topical and so far no sides!

A little bit of a background. My hair loss started back in 2019 and it got worse after 2023. I have been using hair fibers and wearing caps most of the time to hide the bald patches.

About 3 months ago I was looking at getting a hair transplant before coming across this reddit community. After some further research I decided to go ahead with topical treatment.

I can see small progress across all areas and in 10 months’ time my goal is to get rid of using hair fibers and caps and then transition to oral Minoxidil & Finasteride.

My routine:

Topical: DrHair Min / Fin spray (5% / 0.1%) - 2x Daily.

Microneedling: PELCAS Pen (1mm) - I do this 1x weekly for about 6mins on scalp+temples.

Nizoral 2% Ketoconazole Shampoo - 2x weekly. 

Supplements: Multivitamin (Biotin/Zinc/Vit A) + 2 capsules of Black Seed Oil (for thymoquinone) - Daily.

21M 1.2 mg finasteride and 3mg minoxidil for 5 and a half months. I went through the dread shed and wanted to know if this was actual regrowth or miniaturization

Wanted to share an experience because I almost quit a couple months thinking nothing was happening.

Ive been microneedling consistently and using a hair serum after my sessions, and for the longest time I couldnt tell if it made any difference at all. Every day Id look in the mirror and convince myself i had made no progres at all.

Then I compared myself with past pictures and the difference was way more noticeable than I expected to be. It wasnt a full recovery obviously but it was way better than what i had imagined it to be.

Just posting this because I know its easy to get discouraged early on. Taking progress pictures was probably the best thing I did because I wouldve sworn nothing was changing otherwise.

Has anyone else had the same experience where you didnt notice progress until you looked back at old photos?

I read that minoxidil works best when there is a constant amount of it in the blood. New formulations of oral min targeting just hair loss deliver the equivalent of 17mg of minoxidil over 24 hours (showing substantial regrowth). Does this mean that 2.5mg every 12 hours rather than every 24 hours will be more likely to have an effect? Has anyone tried this jump?

I was just going to post under the old thread but it's been archived. This recent study from 6/10 seemed significant for Han Bio and their treatment. Last update from the old thread said trials to begin in 27. Not sure if anyone was following their story/claims.

USA. Recently transitioned from 1mg dut to 2.5mg for my DUPA but damn guys it’s a lot of pills to consistently obtain! A 30 pill box of 0.5mg lasts 6 days. Has anyone found a solution besides juggling half a dozen online prescriptions?

Right now, best bet seems to travel to the Caribbean and load up like a drug mule. But smuggling 48-50 boxes a year is unsustainable.

FYI full regimen is 5mg oral min, 2.5mg oral dut, 1x/day topical min+dut (Musely Keeps formula).

Do these baby hairs in the photo have the potential to become thicker, terminal hairs? I’ve been on minoxidil and dutasteride for about four months, but I haven’t noticed any significant results yet.

Am I too far gone to see meaningful regrowth, or do these baby hairs suggest that the treatment is starting to work? I’m wondering if they have the potential to thicken over time or if they’re too miniaturized to become substantial hairs.

Any of you guys tried this product, as compared to minoxidil. It claims to be better than minoxidil (absorption, etc). Wondering if its really the case?

I tried oral Minoxidil 2.5 mg from Man matters and got decent results but it's expensive Rs. 500 for 30 tablets. Then i started searching for afgordable oral minoxidil on 1mg and found 3 brands :- 1. Zeelab 2. Tinfal M and 3. Dr. Reddy mintop (all three are Oral not topical). The price of zeelab and tinfal is comparitively far lower than Dr. Reddy.

If any Doctor or Dermat is here, please share your comment or review. I can buy, Dr. Reddy but it will dry my whole budget for month and I can't afford any diet than. And for Zeelab and Tinfal, people have mixed reviews on reddit for some it's good, for some it's sh!t.

Sorry these pictures are all over the place. I used alldaychemist for 5 years. When trumps tariffs went into place I had to switch to American brands. I went through a horrible shed. This journey has been hard on me mentally. The last photo is of a couple of weeks ago.

Im currently 28 years old. I started oral treatment in September of 2024. I have been on 1mg Finasteride and 2.5mg Minoxidil since and have been pretty consistent and have missed a few days just here and there. I had some solid results for the first 6-8 months up until July 2025. Then i started noticing shedding again and all the hair i gained slowly seems to be going back to baseline. Would this be considered treatment failure and if so Should i switch to Dutasteride or keep my current treatment going for a few more months? I appreciate any input on this!
