Do you guys think the next Domane will come with a one piece cockpit, or will Trek stick with the current setup?

Anyone who uses less torque on these shock bolts? I think 17Nm is a lot for a 5 mm hex in an alloy socket. It feels like these bolts will be rounded out at some point (Trek uses this torque on all recent full suspension bikes with a similar bolt design). I don't fully understand why, because this is the linkage with the most fragile bolt, but it has the highes torque spec. Also most manufacturers that run a trunion shock with a horst link desing have lower torque spec for this bolt (mostly around 12Nm).

Currently have a road bike, but wanted something for cruising around town and trails (mostly paved) for a good workout, without clips. Was set on FX2, but went Trek LBS and sales guy was good. Put us on a FX sport AL3 and was nice, then on a FX+ and got me thinking...does anyone have an FX+ and use it without battery for a workout? Trying to find a use case where pedal assist will be worth it. Downside is weight, lifting on bike rack, moving it around, etc. and integrated battery as I don't want to have to bring in the house to charge as they will be stored in shed. Also, not thrilled about the 650 wheels.

Has anyone in here gotten a new fuel lx and put a 27.5 in the rear I know it’s possible just want to know what people thought of it going from dual 29er to a mullet on this bike.

For the one interested about transforming your old domane into a gravel bike, yes it's possible and results on the roads are very nice !

Short story, I wanted to do more gravel riding without buying a dedicated bike, so I transformed my unused Domane AL2 into a full "aero gravel" bike; and I wanted to share that it's easy to do, and the feeling on the trails is really cool! It was built entirely with Chinese carbon parts from AE.

• Fully integrated stem + handlebars
• Single 44T chainring
• CSC 38 wheels with 40c tyres (Caracal rear, Terreno front (yes color is missmatching...)
• Carbon seatpost

The weight has dropped significantly for an alloy bike: ~8kg7 with pedals.

I'll probably update the rear derailleur one day (considering the wheeltop electronic shifting but will see).

I’m looking for input as to which one I should get. This will be my first road bike which I plan to use for fitness and casual riding. I was able to ride both bikes in a Trek store and I’m still unsure as to which one to pick.

A little background, my area has some steep hills and winding roads. When I tried the AL2, I did notice that the brakes were not as responsive compared to the AL4 on a flat surface. I think this is my biggest concern being in a hilly area. What’s your experience? What do you recommend? Thank you!

Got this used with the original wheels and tires which were aging so grabbed some tubeless DT Swiss G540/350 wheels, GravelKing X1 700x35 tires, and a Shimano CS-HG400-9 11-32 cassette. The back tire is a little close to the front derailleur which is a Shimano XTR but seems pretty good everywhere else. Rode around near Standard University today after building the wheels and adding the leak stop
