26M here and it's been a burning question for years. Since I was a teen, I was into imagery like PlayBoy. Not in a "haha, boobs" only deal but I genuinely like the 80s/90s composition and style those centerfolds have. I have done photography work with models and recreated some of them myself so it's less of a porn thing (regular porn is meh to me) and really like an "I dig that look" thing. It's been a side-hobby.
I recently bought a house and had my parents move in with me last year since COVID got them into bankruptcy. I pay for all the bills, 70% of the mortgage, work a pretty high stable job and doing well for myself overall.
Lately, I've been in an "I don't give a fuck" phase where I just hang up those Playboy centerfolds in my room all over and I do have certain styled anime figures that look like those centerfolds as well. They're all in an organized, curated, display shelf. I don't let ANYONE come into my room other than relatives who know about my interests (cousins) or my folks (because they live in the house). Those who've seen my room don't care about the theme or dig it.
I don't talk or mention these interests to anyone. This is all solely compartmentalized to my home life. If I ever go out on a date, this wouldn't even a be thought to bring up.
As for relationships, I stopped caring. Genuinely. I really like where I'm at and just want to promotions and move up in life. I don't really want what they come with. Anyone who wants someone to change is setting up for failure imo.
My questions now are:
1) Is it really fucked up to have my room set-up like that, given I limit access?
2) Do people perceive certain body types as more appropriate/inappropriate for display? (Body proportions, features, etc)
3) Parents: How would you feel if your only son, of similar age, pulled the same thing?
4) Women: What are your thoughts on guys in a similar setting?
I'm really interested to hear your thoughts, everyone.
