Tokyo Disney Celebration Hotel is usually the budget pick people compromise on, but the some new 25th Anniversary Sparkling Jubilee themed rooms will become available at Wish actually makes it worth considering aside from the lower price point.

From 1 October 2026 to 1 March 2027, you can stay in special rooms with three different “Off to a Sparkling Adventure!” wallpaper designs, exclusive framed photos, and limited postcards that change mid‑season, all featuring Masashi Asada’s photography for the 25th.

You still get Happy Entry at Disneyland, the ability to buy park tickets at the hotel even on “sold out” days, and a free shuttle to the parks, so for once Celebration is a genuinely interesting option for fans who don’t want to pay deluxe prices. This is also a viable option for pre-Vacation Package nights: don't forget, even though the Celebration is far away, they offer free luggage transfer to your Vacation Package hotel.

I just got back from a trip to all of the Asian Disney parks - Hong Kong, Shanghai, and Tokyo.

What I found was that all charges made in TDR on my Sapphire Reserve card coded 4x hotels. That includes all restaurants in the parks and at the hotels, the quick service locations, food and drink carts found in the parks, merchandise locations.

However, all transactions I made through Alipay at SHDL did not code as Hotels, or restaurants. They only returned with 1x points.

HKDL was true to location. Restaurants came up as restaurants, etc.

They are sooo cute and I'm obsessed with the outfits for the keychains.

So bummed as Journey is listed as in refurbishment during my January trip. I was really really excited for this ride. Is it worth rescheduling my whole trip? I was going to be there a week into the refurbishment

I want reassurance that I will still enjoy my time there without this ride haha

Tokyo Disney Resort just dropped tote bags with attraction poster designs. Initially I thought it was a bit Etsy but I have come around to the idea!

Here’s the catch! They are sold as blind bags. ¥1,400 each, but luckily you can get a full set for ¥8,400 if you don't want to take chances with duplicates and all that.

I just got back from Tokyo Disney Resort, and while the parks are absolutely beautiful, I honestly left feeling more stressed than I expected.
One thing I kept hearing whenever people criticized the park was: “You should’ve done more research before your trip.”

But I don’t think that’s the point.

A theme park is supposed to be a fun and relaxing experience, not something that requires hours of studying beforehand just to avoid having a frustrating day. Of course, doing research can help you maximize your visit, but when the default response to every complaint is “you didn’t prepare enough,” maybe the system itself deserves some criticism.

Throughout the day, I felt like I was constantly checking the app, watching return times, making Mobile Orders, and trying not to miss reservation windows. At some point, it felt like I was managing a schedule instead of simply enjoying a theme park.

We also had a frustrating experience at the end of the night. We were staying at the Tokyo Disneyland Hotel and planned to exit through Fantasy Springs so we could take the Resort Line from Bayside Station back to our hotel. We were told that exit was reserved exclusively for Fantasy Springs Hotel guests.
What made it even more frustrating was that we were also staying at an official Disney hotel. It felt strange that even among Disney hotel guests, there were different levels of access depending on which Disney hotel you booked. Instead, we had to drag ourselves all the way back across the park to the main entrance after an already exhausting day, over a 20-minute walk just to leave.

I completely understand offering exclusive hotel perks, but preventing other official Disney hotel guests from using the nearest exit didn’t feel like it improved the overall guest experience.

Please don’t get me wrong. I think Tokyo DisneySea is one of the most beautiful Disney parks in the world. This isn’t about the attractions or the theming.
It’s about the overall guest experience.

Just to clarify, I’m not arguing against planning. I completely understand that planning is part of the experience at many major Disney parks. My point is simply that planning should help optimize the experience, rather than be a prerequisite for having a good one. I also think it’s fair to evaluate the experience from the perspective of first-time and international visitors, since Tokyo Disney is a world-class destination.

For the record, I’m NOT planning a trip. My money is tied down to a house I just bought last year, a wedding, a honeymoon in the USA, where I’m from, and I don’t have the money or time to fly overseas to Japan right now. If this post needs to be moved, that is fine, but I’m not planning a trip so wasn’t sure on the rules. With that said…

Hey there! So my friend from work is planning a trip to Japan in the next few weeks and he will be taking his wife and kids to Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea. He offered to get me something if there was something I’d want, which I’m game for, having been a fan of Tokyo DisneySea for years and wanting to go at some point.

I’ve looked online to see if I can find pins or smaller items that he could easily stow away in his luggage without breaking or exceeding a weight limit on baggage. I’ve heard the pin game is “weak” in a post that I was directed to here by that’s a year or two old. Personally, I was hoping for like a ride pin or a land pin for the Journey To The Center of the earth attraction and the overall Jules Verne area of the park, Mysterious Island, since that area visually looks amazing. I wouldn’t be against merch, if it exists, for the Society of Explorers and Adventurers (S.E.A.). If anyone has information on where to look online or pictures they’d be willing to share and discuss here, that would be greatly appreciated. Prices as well would be helpful as well.

We are travelling to Disney Tokyo Sea in January 2027 and are looking to book a VP for 4 adults + 1yr old. To save on costs, we are looking to share one room at the Tokyo. Disneyland Hotel.

Can someone please explain the bed situation to me and whether 4 adults will fit in these rooms? When I input our numbers and the baby, I get the option to choose bed share.

Most of the rooms I can see offer a twin bed, a trundle bed and an alcove bed. But I also noted the beauty & the beast character room offers a triple bed.

Any help & guidance here is greatly appreciated.

Okay, this is one of those little park details I absolutely adore, and now it’s coming home with us!

The DisneySea "Hotel Hightower" sign (you know, the one that mysteriously transforms into “Tower of Terror” with that spooky green glow) has always been such a fun, eerie touch in the park. And now it’s been turned into the cutest fridge magnet, perfect for adding a little Disney magic to your kitchen, if you’re brave enough to handle the chills!

It releases tomorrow, July 16, 2026, and I already know this is going straight onto my must-buy list. I hope it is still available when I visit in a few months!

A fun little video on social today capturing Rapunzel and Cinderella hopping off Alice’s Tea Party at Tokyo Disneyland. As someone who’s spent way too many park days coaxing tired kids out of ride vehicles, I couldn’t help smiling when Flynn aka Eugene and the Prince didn’t just wander off, but both instinctively offered a hand (or two) to help their companions step out of the teacup, like it was the most natural thing in the world.

It’s such a small moment, but it’s exactly the kind of storybook “manners” you hope the kids notice, and it feels so perfectly in character even when they’re just moving between rides. Not sure Rapunzel really needed the help, to be honest, her character is just as athletic as Eugene really, but I’ll never complain about a bit of extra chivalry at the end of a spin.

- 10:17 — Sindbad (5 mins queue)

- 11:00 — Turkey leg at Refrescos (no queue)

- 11:25 — 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea (40th anniversary), bought Tower of Terror DPA.

- 11:40 — Fortress Explorations, kids loved this, especially the boat with the cannons.

On hindsight we could have squeezed in Aquatopia which had a 40min queue throughout most of the day if I had allocated the time better, but I'm pretty happy with what we covered and the kids were already exhausted.

We are "hardcore" Disney Veterans and successfully beat most of the locals to get inside at open. We got one of the first passes for Anna and Elsa's Frozen Journey; immediately followed with Journey to the Center of the Earth; used the 40th anniversary pass to get on Nemo, got on Peter Pan first thing in the morning and caught 20 leagues (0 minute wait) and Simbad before we went to our Horizon Bay reservation in the afternoon to cool off and eat. Using additional passes we also went on Tower of Terror and we used single rider lane to get on Raging Spirits with zero wait. You'd think we would be pleased riding almost everything we wanted to ride with very little wait - the opposite.

My summary of this park: it is by far, the most exhausting and unsatisfactory Disney Experience of my life. We are one of those families that treat Disney like it's a military drill; we are always the first ones there and often conquer two parks in 1 day using park hopper with ease. At Disney Sea, logistically, we caught every single ride that we were interested in except two: Rapunzel (down) and Aquatopia (we were so disillusioned and exhausted that we skipped it and left the park at 5pm).

We waited hours in the morning, beat the crowds, bought all of Disney Sea's nickel and diming passes and covered ourselves in sweat just to get access to a theme park where everything was below expectations.

Atmosphere and Decor [7/10] - Was the decor a 10/10? Yes, absolutely. And (even though I disagree), let's just assume for a minute that I crown Disney Sea as the "most beautiful" park... guess what else affects the "atmosphere"? Empty food stalls and crowds. The unmanned fast-food carts sitting in critical walkway paths was just jarring. It is also just generally unpleasant to see hundreds of hungry people lining up for popcorn and refreshments. The park was so packed that Disney Orlando on Christmas break would feel empty by comparison.

Rides [4/10] - Frozen carries it, everything else was mediocre. One of the headliners (Journey to the Center of the Earth) involved only 2 seconds of excitement and the park's iconic headliner (Aquatopia) was just fake bumper cars on water... Not every ride has to be filled with adrenaline but c'mon, I'm competing with locals who literally picnic with umbrellas in the hot sun at 5am. I expect something COOL - nothing, nada, again, except Frozen; although Sinbad punches above its weight as well, it's like a unique version of "it's a small world".

Food [2/10] - Who wants to wait in line for mediocre French fries/popcorn? and Turkey legs that are smaller than any other Disney park I've ever been to? (Apparently the locals are happy waiting, so you can either wait with them or starve). Am I food snob? Yes I am a SNOB (not just when it comes to food, but in every sense of the word). But I value my time, and I imagine the same can be said of many people who spend their hard-earned money and vacation time on Disney parks. We don't run a morning family military drill at 5:30AM wakeup to experience mediocrity when expectations are so high and the opportunity cost is high as well (we could've spent more time in other parts of Japan).

Overall Score: [4/10] We have never left a Disney Park early and avoided the evening show before, we deeply regret trying to get on the rides and beat the crowd at Disney Sea. If we could do it all over again, we would show up in the late afternoon, walk around and take some pictures and call it a day.

Hi all, I’m heading to Tokyo Disney sea/land for the 3rd time this year. I’m wanting to be braver with the foods I try, but am cautious as I am anaphylactic to “lupin”. This is not one of the main allergens Japan identifies. I’ve been cautiously avoiding the baymax curry & the burger buns (the ones that look like bao buns) because of my allergen - but I REALLY want to try them. Does anyone know that if I show them an allergen card, they’ll understand what it means?

Or does anyone know if there’s any information about what’s included in the meals in terms of allergens?

New “Big Pop style” salted caramel popcorn has landed at DisneySea and it’s limited edition so try it out if you're lucky enough to be there for the summer. From July 1 to September 14 2026, the popcorn wagon in front of Arabian Coast is selling salted caramel popcorn that comes pre‑popped in a bag, similar to the style only sold at The Big Pop in Tokyo Disneyland.

Unlike the usual carts that scoop warm popcorn into boxes or buckets, this one is a pre-popped snack that is made off location. Available from park opening until 5:00 p.m only; after that, the wagon switches over to curry popcorn for the rest of the night.

If you love Big Pop’s "fluffier" mushroom style popcorn richer with the more “gourmet” salted caramel, here's your chance.

Turned out to be a relatively calm day at the park based on what I'd been seeing on here and other sites. We planned to just wander around, get in a few rides, but mostly take in the experience of being at DisneySea. So here's how a day can go if you get really lucky 😊 Only had one day at a park so we chose DisneySea since we live close to Anaheim Disneyland.

We arrived around 8:30am after taking the hotel's Disney bus. Way back in the pack to enter. Made it into the park around 9:20am and grabbed a 40th Anniversary pass for Raging Sprits later that evening. Then we headed off and did the following.

Rides -

1. Tower of Terror - 30 min wait. Fun ride, great intro. Kids screaming like crazy had me cracking up. Was going to go to Toy Story but it closed.

2. Aquatopia - 45 min. Ride was set to soaking. Started to rain for a bit while we were in line but figured it didn't matter at that point. Another good ride, I honestly thought we'd control the things and didn't realize they were tracked.

3. Nemo and Friends SeaRider - 30 min. A cute version of Star Tours. Everyone enjoyed this.

4. Flounder's Flying Fish Coaster - 20 min. My girls (14 and 18) still like kiddie coasters. LOL Enjoyable little ride.

5. Caravan Carousel - 20 min. Youngest loves carousels, so we went at her request. Everyone liked the themeing of the ride.

6. Sinbad's Storybook Voyage - 5 min. What a fun little ride. Great mix of Pirates of the Caribbean meets It's a Small World.

7. Peter Pan's Neverland Adventure - 50 min. Wow! The fantasy land Peter Pan is one of my favorites. This one takes it to an entirely new level. A+ ride!

8. Tinker Bell's Busy Buggies - 40 min. Silly little ride, but the girls like Tinker Bell and they were happy so it was all good. We then wandered around Fantasy Springs but with no one having any interest in Frozen we skipped the 140 min wait. Sat down for dinner at Lookout Cookout as we'd just been snacking on Tipo Tortas, popcorn and ice creams throughout the day.

9. Raging Spirits - 10 minutes with the 40th Anniversary pass, otherwise it was a 100 min wait for standby. Fun Rollercoaster. A bit short but done well.

10. ​Journey to the Center of the Earth - 120 min. Our longest wait and well worth it. Amazing ride, another A+.

11. 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea - No wait. Walked right on to another winner. Such a cool ride.

12. Soaring - 50 min. After getting some shopping out of the way we saw we could make it onto the ride with plenty of time to get to the bus pick up station. I liked this world version more than the California based one at California Adventure. Although it may have been updated since I last rode it. Still a great ride.

Twelve rides with no purchased passes seems like a win to me. Like I said, I think we got very lucky.

For those of you wishing to visit the Tokyo Disney Resort during the End of Year and New Years period, Vacation Packages open for booking next week, 16th July 2026, at 3pm JST.

 Note: Journey to the Center of the Earth goes into a 2-month maintenance 2027/1/8-3/8, so early January will be the right time to catch this signature ride if you’re there that month.

Learn about how VP pricing works

If you have never booked a Vacation Package before, you might have some questions like: is it all inclusive? Does it include food? Is it compulsory to choose food? Why is the price variable? How come there is a "quote" that says "For 1 person per night per room" but I can never get that price or it seems so random (larger room seems cheaper)? See this post here.

VP Chaining 101 (i.e. if 2 nights just isn't enough)

The 2N2D packages are great "Swiss army knife" packages that enables chaining of Vacation Packages together to enable longer packages.

You can book them in front (Ticket on Day 1 and Day 2 type) or behind (Ticket on Day 2 and Day 3 type) any other VP - even itself - to create a longer packaged vacation. For example, Unlimited VP + 2N2D (Ticket on Day 2 and Day 3) = 3 night 4 days vacation (TDL/TDS/TDL/TDS), or 2N3D + 2N2D = 4 night 5 days vacation (TDL/TDS/TDS/TDL/TDS). While technically they remain two separate package reservations, if you are careful to book the exact same room type/specification, it is almost like you had a longer package (just contact TDR to put a note informally linking them after booking).

Booking tips: Can I just set an alarm and go to the site at 3pm JST?

That might be too late. There is a queue system that is implemented when website traffic picks up. If you start at 3pm you might not get through until hours later. You might have to start checking the site from as early as 2pm JST until you find a session with the perfect queue exit time no earlier than 2.45pm-2.50pm.

Please also note that the TDR IT system does not perform well when it’s under load.  So even if you manage to get through the queue, you might get kicked out during the booking process.  You might want to stagger a few sessions 30 minutes apart (it is not a bad idea to have one that starts at e.g. 4pm, 5pm JST etc) as last month many people who got through around 3pm got kicked off eventually.

I manage to book the same room type as a standalone hotel room booking (before or after) my Vacation Package.  How do I notify the hotel to avoid changing rooms?

Once you have made all the reservations, use the official hotel online form (and under "Type of Inquiry" choose "Request to link multiple stays with different reservation numbers and assign them to the same room"), so you don't have to change rooms. The bookings will remain separate and nothing gets "combined". Your VP remains pre-paid and has different cancellation policies and deadlines compared to your hotel bookings (which is deposit only and remainder payable upon check-in).

IMPORTANT: Just double check to make sure you book rooms that has the identical room type/room name/floor range (if applicable), number of beds and room size (in m2) as otherwise it would result in a room change.

Under the “unlimited rides on eligible attractions” package, the description says “Enjoy churros, popcorn, or frozen dessert as much as you like!”  Do I get all of those in my package?

No, unfortunately! The operative word there is the “or”. Your entire party must choose just one type of snack ticket.  That is, either churros, or popcorn or frozen packaged desserts.  If you choose churros then you will not have any popcorn.  Everyone in your party will have the same ticket type and you cannot mix-and-match.  Not all snack ticket type is offered at all times (except during winter months there will not be any frozen dessert option).  See also this post here.

Not necessarily. It depends on which hotel you are booking as part of the package.

My gf and I have a Tokyo trip this weekend and it’s her first time in Japan. Which park should we go to if I can only allocate one day for Disney?

She is not a fan of high thrill rides, if she was, I would’ve automatically chosen Sea for Tower of Terror.

I know Sea has Frozen and Tangled themed rides, while Land has Beauty and the Beast.

Which park has an overall more enjoyable/memorable experience?

*I thought of getting a park-hopper so we could see a daytime parade at Land and the nighttime show at Sea but feel like it would be tiring trying to transfer to/from parks. And we might not be able to enjoy the parks fully

My 7 year old son and I went to both parks yesterday with the park hopper ticket. This is our second time going to the parks together. We went last year in August, so we knew what to expect and came prepared.

We chose the park hopper because we had a very specific list of rides we wanted to get on and were not planning on watching any shows or parades. We also went in knowing we might have to be flexible and skip some rides.

We wanted to get on the main exciting rides at DisneySea (ToT, Journey, Raging Spirits). Apart from riding Peter Pan, we were not planning on spending any time inside Fantasy Springs. We did it last year and one time was enough for us. We were also hoping to ride 20 000 as it was closed last year.

Apart from Beauty and the Beast and Baymax, we were not planning on getting on any of the other popular rides at Disneyland. My son just really loves Pirates of the Caribbean and we were hoping to get on Haunted Mansion, which was closed last time.

We felt we could accomplish all that with the park hopper and we did!!!

After two rainy days, both parks felt extremely crowded. More crowded than August last year. We started our day at DisneySea, which is a must do with the park hopper.

We arrived at 7:45am. The queue started moving at 8:45 am. We got into the park around 9:20am. We knew we didn’t want to ride Frozen this time, so we snagged DPAs for ToT right away. We wanted to get on our first ride asap to book our next DPA quickly, which proved to be a winning strategy!

While walking to ToT, we checked the 40th Anniversary Pass rides. Raging Spirits was down, so we used our pass for 20 000. There were no slots until 11:30am already. After we rode ToT, 20 000 had a 60 min standby wait line!

While waiting in line for ToT, we booked DPAs for Journey (earliest was 12:10 pm).

Then we hit a wall at 9:45 am with nothing to do and nowhere to go until 20 000. All the smaller rides had long lines (40 min for Nemo when it’s usually 20 min) and we couldn’t get any quick mobile orders for food either near ToT or the harbor. Transportation rides had a wait time of 30 min. We walked around for a bit, waiting until we could book our next DPAs.

At 10:30, we were finally able to book Peter Pan at 10:45, so we dashed to Fantasy Springs. By then, the standby line for Peter Pan was coming all the way out of Fantasy Springs! Felt very grateful we had DPAs!

After Peter Pan, we were able to get a mobile order at the Snuggly Duckling for 10 min later. We ate quickly and dashed to 20 000 and then finished our day at DisneySea with Journey. By then, almost all DPAs for DisneySea had ran out for the day, with only Peter Pan available. I won’t lie, I was not sorry to leave the park. It would not be enjoyable with the amount of people and no DPAs available.

It was now 1:30pm and we still had one more park to visit! We took the monorail and got into Disneyland within 20-30 min.

The park was definitely more crowded than usual, but still so much better than DisneySea! We had space to walk leisurely, without having to dodge people constantly.

We booked the first available DPAs for Beauty and the Beast at 16:50pm. We had time to kill, so we bought ice cream (waited 25 min) and rode Pirates of the Caribbean (waited 25 min when it’s usually 5-10). One hour later, we booked DPAs for Baymax at 15:50pm. We had a snack break at the Pan Galactic for some Little Green Men and a much needed coffee for me. Then, we rode Star Tours (20 min line instead of the usual 10 min). Then it was time for Baymax and Beauty and the Beast.

My husband joined us using an after 3pm passport, so we did Pirates again (20 min), then Haunted Mansion (40 min), then Star Tours again (10 min), then had a quick pizza dinner at the Pan Galactic. We left the park during the parade to beat the crowds and got to sit on the train back to our hotel!

Phew! What a day! We honestly got to ride everything we wanted, except Raging Spirits. Which I think means a very successful day!

No regrets about getting the park hopper either. It worked really well for us, but it’s definitely not the best pass for everybody!

Collected tips for DisneySea 7 July 2026 and some observations. This is a weekday in July (not a holiday)

Arrival: Arrived at 7:06AM. Boarded off at Maihana and then transfer to Monorail. Monorail takes IC BUT it must have sufficient balance. There is no reloading in Monorail terminal.

Crowd level upon arrival: We were one of first 20% to be in the park (guesstimate first 400-500 guests). We got in 907am. This few minutes is key to be buying your first DPA...we picked Frozen and rushed to Peter pan. We waited 2 minutes for Peter Pan. Frozen only had 10 minutes wait too.

Pro Tip: Link your ticket with everyone on the itinerary so multiple phone can rush the DPAs

Believe Show (8pm). Very high production value however set is in middle of lake so viewpoint is suboptimal if you dont get DPA. Highly recommended to secure DPA. NOTE: This is assigned seating so you have to buy earlier but at show time you don't have to rush (this is applicable to the Plaza seating)

Crowd level during today: Very packed for a weekday. Frozen, ToT, Soaring all had 140-160 minutes wait. Frozen DPA eventually sold out after sometime.

Overall we hit 13 rides (Peter Pan, Tinkle Bell, Frozen, ToT, Toy Story, 20,000 leagues, Nemo, Raging Spirit, Sinbad, Aquatopia, Blowfish race, Soaring, Journey to Centre of the Earth, Sinbad). Out of those 5 DPA, 1 Free 40th Anniversary, 1 single rider. We did all in 1 day which is fairly good.

Food: many themed restaurants with seating area. Some restaurants just require you to do mobile order and you can sit. But you don't need reservation. This was not apparent in the app.

Ranking rides:

A tier: Frozen, Peter Pan, Toy Story, Journey to Centre of the Earth, 20,000 leagues, ToT

B tier: Soaring, Raging Spirit, Aquatopia (to get wet). Tinkle bell

C tier: Sinbad, Blowfish race, Nemo

TLDR

- Arrive 7am

- Link your tickets, invite everyone in your party to have app access to buy DPA and 40th Anniversary

- Secure DPA and 40th Anniversary Pass

- Buy Believe Show DPA at the Plaza - buy early to get better sears

- If done correctly, you can visit 13-14 rides in a day with Show to cap it off.

- Charge your IC to take monorail in the park

Overall: we had absolutely incredible time at the park. Left the park 910pm very satisfied that we did everything in what is a high paced day!
