Or a lot of TV. But I figured the simpsons was a given. He hadn't even seen the Treehouse of Horrors.

I've seen it all at least once, and most of it repeatedly. Refences, jokes, memes.... I can and have literally had whole conversations about behind the scenes stuff.

How do you guys deal?

How can I help him speak my language?

There's too much to just watch it all consistently. I've taken to showing certain early episodes when the moment calls for it, and randomly throwing on episodes when we need "background noise".

But here's the problem, other shows that make up my second language haven't been on as long. 'Random' episodes are actually carefully picked so that I don't... shock him?

And also so I don't have to explain too much of what's changed with a character 30 seasons (I made sure he saw the first sideshow bob episode before "randomly" the one where he dates Selma). He might've last seen a random season 2 episode,... and then he'd hear recent merges voice..? Or sideshow Bobs face falls off?

I'm aware Im overthinking it. I kind figured anyone under 40 at least casually knew simpsons side characters. Whars the word for someone who didn't even see the movie?

I know the point of the episode is that a real person wouldn't survive Homer's antics and nitpicks too much.

But Grimes kind of went into the job with a chip on his shoulder? Mr. Burns isn't super caring or welcoming, but you'd think he'd be used to it by now.

Like he came in hating Homer.

I’m a huge Simpsons fan, at the start of my apprenticeship a customer asked me for this and it was a huge motivation to get good enough to make the damn thing 😂 enjoy!
