A moment of silence for my labradorite labret š RIP
I took it out to clean when bushing my teeth, placed on the shelf under the mirror as always, I clean it after, and my wife decided that would be an awesome time to start cleaning the shelf. It fell in the sink before I could catch it. šI will admit I was absolutely heartbroken as it's my favourite one I own. She's just so pretty!.š But it will live on! I Contacted stonewolf, and Russell is going to use it in a Delrin piece! So I get to keep a bit of it. I won't be putting ANY of my more fragile ones anywhere but in my hands in future when I'm cleaning them! Considering guilt tripping the Mrs so I can order another one! š but I think I'll go for super skinny oval.. As I don't have that shape yet. And getting the same shape wouldn't be the same.. (If that makes sense?) My labret jewellery box will be moved to the bathroom I think, for safety purposes! Bloody sink! But Russel to the rescue! š xx

Cleaning second hand jewellery
I recieved a pile of used jewellery from a mate, and now I need to clean and sanitise it all. There is a mix of stone, metal and some acrylic, or similar plastics. The metal I know I can just boil for a bit to clean, but I'm unsure about the stone, plastics and all the Orings. I have some 99% isopropyl alcohol, but I am unsure if its OK to use on anything.
Looking for some advice.

Sleeping with jewelry when new to stretching?
Hey all,
sorry if this is a no brainer, I'm looking to start my stretching journey soon (dead stretching with glass plugs).
One thing I haven't read about in any guides so far - how do I sleep "during" a stretch? I read here somewhere not to sleep with the plugs in, but won't the lobes be back to the same size after an entire night, when the ear isn't used to the size yet?
Thanks for any input!
Edit: Thank you so much, your advice really helps me out alot! <3

~Advice~ Swimming after septum stretch
google search is giving me different answers from different āprofessionalsā and sources but i fear i trust yall better as youāve never done me wrong so far.
interest h my septum to a 1.6mm last week (first septum stretch yippie and i did it all by myself)
All is well, a bit tender still with blowing my nose and touches but no pain during the stretcher after. Been using jojoba oil to massage the area about once a day and clean it with hot water, and occasionally some peroxide if iāve been sweating a lot.
i was invited to swim but was unsure if a week was long enough after a septum stretch to safely swim in a chlorinated pool, especially with the leftover tenderness, iām worried about infections. Should i skip the pool and get a tan instead??

~Advice~ Swollen/crusty lobe
for context, iām at 16mm. havenāt sized up in over half a year. not sure what happened, but yesterday when i took my tunnels out to shower there was a ton of crust and my lobe was very swollen and painful. i cleaned it up and gave it a jojoba oil massage, slept with no plugs. this morning its still about the same - crust, red, swollen. I didnāt see any blood i donāt think.
my issue is that iām at a conference right now and donāt have anything to downsize to. i only have these stainless steel tunnels ( they screw on together ). with a bit of effort i was able to get it in this morning, but itās def pretty angry.
iām not sure what i did? wondering if there was somehow an abrasion and i didnāt notice. any advice for now? ):

Can I stretch more? 18mm Moonrock
Been stretching my ears since last March and bought these opalite plugs this March. At the time my ears rejected them so I went back down to 16mm, stayed there for a while, and tried again two days ago. No rejection, ears stopped being sore halfway through yesterday, all smiles.
Thing is, my end goal is to be 25mm, but I don't know if I can or should keep sizing up. My ears and skin are pretty malleable as I drink water constantly (at least 1.5L daily) and my skin is always moisturized with some mix of lotion and a natural oil. But, I'm still fairly new to this so I figured I'd ask.
Shared a picture of the underside of my ears taken yesterday, please ignore the goofy face, I was bored at work š .

Had to downsize my blown out 0g ears back to a 2g
They were red and inflamed so I switched them out and they started oozing fluids and blood

~Advice~ What are you ACTUALLY supposed to do after a tear?
Tale as old as time :(
I sized up to 1g and everything seemed fine, painless and no blood at the time of stretching. I continued with cleaning and oiling as usual.
A couple of weeks later I tried putting my plugs back in after the shower and felt resistance. I checked the back and surely enough, a small tear was there.
Iāve never had a tear up until now, Iāve always used glass plugs but this time I switched over to Titanium and the plugs were shorter, so the o ring was flush against my skin.
Itās been nearly a week since iāve taken my plugs out fully, and my ears have been naked since then.
The small tear seems mostly healed and I havenāt put any plugs back in yet.
When I do, does my wait time to size up increase now since the tear? I usually wait 2-3months. Any advice, even anecdotal is appreciated!
ps:
Yes Iām going back to glass plugs until the initial stretch is fully healed!

15 mm now what
Hi all!
Stretched up to 15 mm with kits, now I don't see stretching kits that come to a larger size. What am I supposed to do? Buy single plugs in 1 mm increment? I don't think it's common to find half sizes online as well.
TIA!

Septum feeling tight and dry
I went swimming yesterday (pool, so chlorinated water) and after that my septum (10g) has been feeling a lot tighter and dryer than previously. It doen not hurt and the jewellery is still moving freely without any issues, but there's friction and resistance which hasn't been there before. No itching or discomfort, or any other signs of irritation, just that the piercing feels tighter and the jewellery doesn't slide as easily.

Discussion~ Gentle method for helping with elasticity?
So at the moment, after 7 years of dead stretching (and starting at 2mm) I seem to be stuck at 10 mm for the past year, year and a half. It is very slowly becoming a bit more elastic but going from 10 to 11 mm has been my longest wait at the moment. And after buying a few 10 mm double flared plugs (and last year I got a few 10 mm saddles from my husband) it is very tempting to look at taping.. But I won't. I always been very careful with my ears and piercings.
But I am at a loss to what could be some gentle ways to aid the process of gaining elasticity. As in, "evidence based". Massaging daily with jojoba oil? Gently tugging?
So I am looking for ways to assist the stretching but keep it safe.
Any ideas or experiences?
Pic added: 10 mm glass plugs from BAF
Edit for extra info: I clean my plugs and ears in the shower 2-3 times a week and moisturize them with jojoba oil!
