On July 16, Raymond L. Jensen Jr., a high-ranking official of the United Auto Workers, posted a death threat against Will Lehman, the socialist Mack Trucks worker and candidate for UAW president. The threat was an AI-generated image posted on Lehman’s public Facebook campaign page depicting Lehman bound with rope and gagged, blood running from his mouth, with a masked man aiming an automatic rifle at his back.

The International Workers Alliance of Rank-and-File Committees (IWA-RFC) calls on workers and all defenders of democratic rights to denounce this incitement to violence against Will Lehman and demand its unequivocal public repudiation by the UAW.

Jensen’s threatening post cannot be brushed aside as the act of a deranged individual acting on his own. Jensen is an organizer on the staff of the UAW. Until recently he was the assistant director of UAW Region 9, the region to which Lehman belongs. He was paid approximately $202,000 in total compensation in 2025, according to the union’s LM-2 filings with the US Labor Department. He is a prominent supporter of UAW President Shawn Fain, and his Facebook profile displays an “I Support Sha

The IWA-RFC calls on UAW members and workers in every industry, in the US and internationally, to take up the defense of Lehman as their own cause. As Lehman stated: “This threat is not aimed at me alone. It is an act of intimidation directed against the entire rank-and-file opposition.”

The IWA-RFC also calls on all left-wing and progressive organizations to categorically denounce this threat.

That last slide about "Cuba's aasault on the United States" is so funny.

Communism once again emerges as the principal adversary as the Trump administration declares a campaign against the global left, intensifies its threats toward Cuba, and pursues domestic activists.

How to face this?

Question in my title. How do we maintain morale?

Without divulging TMI, I wear some hats in some expressly socialist orgs, and have for different orgs for almost a decade now.

It doesn’t seem uncommon in other areas, but it seems like orgs eb and flow locally. Very, very few comrades of mine from 10 years ago are engaged in any leftist organizing in any capacity.

George Floyd created a very vibrant and lively wave of new activists in my area. Since then, I’ve slowly seen a lot of people burn out, give up, or just simply come and go. Presidential election years seem to inject some momentary interest but, eventually a “back to brunch” mentality seems to hit passionate comrades and organizers in my local activist scene.

I know that I’m going to maintain my own momentum until I become physically incapable, but even after all this, I haven’t the slightest fucking clue how to encourage continued momentum in others.

Looking at past threads on Reddit and talking with my comrades about it, it seems like these milieux periods are guaranteed to happen, but they seem to result in a slow burn and loss of momentum until the next tragedy or heinous revelation about capitalism captures the public.

So… does anyone have any advice or thoughts on how we maintain momentum and morale?

I’ve read the article and it says it’ll be distributed through a catholic group, Sean Callahan CEO of Catholic Relief Services says he hopes this will bring the Cuban and American people together. The Cuban government has downplayed this saying even with this it’ll only last 5 days in the blockade. My only thought on this is that it’s meant to turn the people against the government by making the people think the government is not doing their job and showing that the American government is there for the Cuban people. Btw my thought isn’t 100%! It could very well be wrong and be something else entirely. What do you guys think?

ICE MURDERS AGAIN. BUILD THE FIGHTBACK.

In just one week, three people have lost their lives during or in connection with ICE operations, from Houston to Maine to Florida. These deaths are not isolated incidents. They are the predictable result of an immigration enforcement system built on fear, raids, detention, and violence.
The response cannot be limited to symbolic outrage from politicians. History has shown that when working people organize collectively, they can force those in power to retreat. The mass mobilizations and strike actions in Minneapolis demonstrated the power of organized workers and communities acting together.
We need to escalate the fightback. Build workplace committees, strengthen unions, organize rapid response networks, and prepare coordinated days of action that can grow into broader strike action. ICE can be driven out of our communities only through the organized power of the working class.

On my Instagram story I posted multiple things explaining how neutral and independent media doesn't exist because media has to be funded and funding is never neutral.

To this I had a reply from my sister where she said: "What is the alternative according to you?" And in truth I found this a good question. I actually don't know what the alternative is. Like sure changing the class relations would work and media as we know it will wither away. But that's gonna take a long ass time. Like yeah capitalism needs to be overthrown for neutral media to be able to exist. What would it look like? But then what is the better alternative within capitalism? To which I think it would be better to divide media again like in the last century where the radical left got their own broadcasting Network, and the catholics and protestants, and the center left and the right?

But then the radical left broadcaster still needs to be funded and ofc that would inherently lead to a safer form of anti-capitalist commentary that is critical but doesn't truly challenge the system and the narrative. But at least this system is more honest about their lack of neutrality.

So would a system perhaps be better where media is made by individuals who can freely post their media. The problem is then again that People with more money will have more access to places other people can't, and equipment, and other things that give them yet again making media not truly neutral.

What are your thoughts about this?

Usually when leftists talk about liberals, they mean people who have yet to be disusillusioned AT ALL by the status quo. But those aren't the ones that I'm suurounded by, in my circle. They call themselves progressive and are sper pro palestine, fricking love someone like Zohran Mamdani, super aware about systemic social justice issues, etc. Yk like repost stuff about humanitarian crises caused by imperialism like genocides in sudan and congo, yet somehow still side with their countries imperialism when its beneficial to them. They see Israel as not an expansion of western imperialism, but a special case yk? And they don't understand that their settler colonial country built on the genocide of the indigenous people, isn't much different that israel. They despise the idf, but support the terrorist army of their imperialist country. They want ICE to be abolished, but they think "not all cops are bad". Basically full of contradictions. These peple have countless critiques of capitalism, despise billionares, despise AI and climate change, and data centers. But if you ask them what is to be done to change the system, they either say "theres nothing we can do", or talk about electoralism and voting progressive social democrat, whos entire purpose is to preserve capitalism by giving the working class the spoils of imperialism. How can I propogate to someone like this. Usually they have a super doomer mindset, and get super uncomfortable when you tell them that they benifit off of imperialism.

Fair warning, I am not a theoretical expert whatsoever. I may easily be wrong and I encourage anybody and everybody to correct me or share their thoughts. My goal is to learn through discussion and correction.

I’m 14 and in Texas, a state in which I intend to return to after university in order to enter politics as an American or state representative under the Party for Socialism and Liberation. After my term is done and I’ve successfully gathered influence in American Politics, I will run for Texas governor. (None of this is concrete.)
Of course, I don’t genuinely expect a parliamentary abolishment of capitalism, rather that through a dedicated effort not only from within the system but a united working class movement can bring about radical changes in the most key elements in American society: Workers rights and education.
The Democratic Socialists of America are insufficiently socialist, and are a social democratic group of counterrevolutionary individuals who seek to act as a mediator between capitalism and the working class, forcing meager concessions unto the working class in return loyalty or favor unto capitalist institution of oppression. Freezing rent will only provide short relief to a family whose entire problems lie within the institution, not just the rent.
Grocery prices, mortgages, insurance, all of which can be mediated to make the working class feel some sort of economic relief, and in a system constantly oppressing the working class, economic relief means everything.

I believe the general role of socialist politics in America is for reform of the previously mentioned elements: Workers’ rights and education. In my opinion, mostly education. I believe reform in these areas is completelyx possible and not counter-revolutionary.
