Help Anyone added a Matter lock to SmartThings that also syncs to Alexa via the 2022 Thread-sharing partnership?

Setting up a Yale Smart Lock with Matter (YRD510-MT1) and trying to figure out the cleanest path before I commit to a hub.

Plan: commission the lock into SmartThings (via a Station or compatible hub) to get remote access + entry codes, since Yale Access alone is Bluetooth-only with zero remote capability. I'd ideally like it to also surface in Alexa automatically via the Samsung/Amazon Thread-credential-sharing partnership from 2022, rather than adding it to Alexa separately.

Questions for anyone who's actually done this with a lock specifically:

  • Does the auto-sync into Alexa actually fire reliably for lock-type devices, or is it flakier than for switches/plugs?
  • Does lock/unlock via voice work through the synced Alexa entry, or does it show up read-only?
  • Does DoorSense (Yale's door-open sensor) expose at all through ST's Matter integration, or does ST only pick up the basic lock cluster?
  • Any edge driver quirks with Yale locks specifically I should know about?

Trying to avoid buying hardware based on the marketing page and finding out it doesn't actually do this in practice. Appreciate any real experience.

Discussion Smart things API behind paywall

I just got email, that smart things api will be behind paywall since October 26. For individual developers - as me that use it only for smart home access it will be $5 and "specifically tailored to individual needs" or as I understand it - tokenized and tiered by usage in future.

Smartlife soil sensor

Hi

I have 2 smartlife water timers.

I would like to use soil sensors with them as the weather information link doesn't seem to stop the water timers.

Also please refer to new smartlife or google home water timers. My supplier doesn't have stock anymore.

Thanks

Help Anyone have success with joining a GLEDOPTO controller to ST?

Having no luck with this. It will join ST but the functionality does not work. I can’t turn it on.

Tried using default driver and the Zigbee Light Multifunction Mc driver. Neither one worked.

I am trying to control an LED light strip with a motion sensor through ST. Maybe a controller exists that works with ST.

I have a AR60F18C1KW/SK AC which officers from Samsung could connect to wifi and I used it 2-3 weeks perfectly.

Then suddenly it goes to offline and I couldnt make it work again. With same wifi, Same location nothing has changed

Here are what i tried;

1-deleted device, deleted app and tried to setup several times with same wifi. Didnt work and it says “The selected network isn't
connected to the internet. Check the connection and try again.”

2- I saw some posts, saying it can connect to 2.4 GHz only and I built a wifi for only 2.4 and same. didnt connect

3- I tried to connect to my personal hotspot and it worked several times.

What should i do??

Help New Stove keeps trying to force Bluetooth connection

Hey guys, I’m completely new to smart appliances, but I bought them because they had the best reviews on Costco. I do not want the smart features, at all. Luckily I have not had an issue with it, but everytime my friend (who has a Galaxy s23) comes over the stove tries forcing a bluetooth connection with her phone. She never tried connecting to it, I've never even tried enabling features or anything like that, and even turning her Bluetooth off doesn’t seem to work sometimes. Any ideas? Lol

New to this sub. Searched and didn’t find an answer. I’ve got uncommanded actions happening.

I use a SmartThings hub, and have lots of leak sensors around my primary home. The only automations are if a leak sensor around my house gets wet, it turns the water to the house off. We are not there for the summer, and the water is turned off. (I also have a few Fibaro buttons to turn the water on and off as a convenience to my house sitter.) For the last few weeks the water has been occasionally turning on on its own, and then turning off exactly fifteen minutes later. I get a text when these actions happen. (The leak sensors have no automation to turn the water on again, so they’re not to blame.) I haven’t seen a pattern in the time of day or the day of the week or the interval between phantom turn ons. The water valve (actually, an actuator that sits on top of the water valve lever) is made by Econet Controls.

Anyone have any ideas what might be causing this? Thanks.

Help looking for cheap Matter/Thread temperature sensors

Feel stupid. Just cannot find them .

As I am transfering, step by step, to Matter I really want those small forme Zigbee sensors. I am also an Ikea fan, but I doubt a little bit the Alpstuga and Timmerflotte. Not sure if they are accurate enough.

Just need Wokki Pokki brand.

Discussion Odd standards for SmartThings Samsung TV connection

I just found out that:

  1. SmartThings logged me out of my Samsung TV simply because I had not used it in a while (a few months).
  2. SmartThings requires a factory reset of the TV in order to reconnect.

I find this a really clunky standard for Samsung SmartThings. The TV was only connected to my own SmartThings account to begin with. Nowadays, factory resetting a smart TV is a pain because then I have to re-download my apps, recustomize them, re customize my TV/sound settings, and re-log into ALL of my connected apps. That is like a two-hour process, simply because I didn't use my TV on my SmartThings app for a few months.

Hey Reddit!

Had no issue with connecting to my TV, but having issues connecting to both my Q series soundbar for TV and a separate S series one.

It gets detected and fails during the sync? Tried disconnecting everything and still did not work. The Q series soundbar had never been turned on before either.

Microwave hood ventilation no longer controllable since last update

UPDATE (July 15): Bug appears to have been fixed. They pushed an update of the device controller yesterday that resolved the issue for me.

Hello, I'm only using the app for my OTR microwave. Since yesterday's firmware update, I'm not able to control the hood ventilation remotely. I can see that the hood is ventilating/off but that's about it. The cooktop light function under the Hood tab is still available and functions just fine.

Anyone else experiencing this?

FYI, I've reset the microwave, deleted it from the app and paired it again to no avail.

Family Hub Browser Broken

I can't get the browser on my Family Hub refrigerator to open. It has a pop-up with a hint about adding bookmarks to the home screen, but its completely frozen. Can't click on "do not show again" or "ok". I can exit out and go to other apps but then the browser doesn't even open at all for several minutes. Then I get stuck with the same pop-up. I've tried restarting through the About menu, as well as hard reset using the switch on top of the door. I'm trying to add Home Assistant and Immich and as far as I can tell the browser is the only option but no way to start it! I'm on the latest firmware. Any ideas?

Issues with SmartThings Zigbee Switch driver

Anyone else having issues with the official SmartThings Zigbee Switch driver?

My hub went offline a couple times yesterday and after that none of my Zigbee bulbs and outlets will respond to commands in the SmartThings app. It also looks like the driver has a new version as of 2026-06-29 which I think might be the issue.

My other Zigbee devices (Motion, Door, Multi-Sensors) are all working fine so I don't think it's an issue with Zigbee as a whole. I've had luck with some of the outlets by moving them to 3rd party driver (Mariano Shared Beta) by my multi-colors bulbs won't work on either driver.
