After much anticipation (and me forgetting to follow up) we can finally announced the results of our community poll. We had a huge number of responses on this, so thank you so much to everybody who took the time to vote.
The results (maybe not the actual winner) may be surprising to some, but finally we have definitively answered the question. I will add the results to our wiki page and put them on the sidebar so that everybody can see them. Looking forward to your reactions to these results below!

I tried to build a resort inspired by the luckee star motel in another game called vampire the masquerade bloodlines. I'm playing in midnight hollow and the atmosphere is always dark and gloomy...

Playing sims Rn and suddenly I got a notification where one of the townies said "The woman said her daughter had died 20 years ago" while my sim was chatting with the townie.
What the actual hell is this notification. It creeped the shit out of me

I was looking at the Sims relationship panel, and I just saw a sim with some WILD hair. Not sure what caused it, but it made me chuckle lol
i just moved my legacy family to a new town, mostly to get rid of stuttering (rip legacy island 3, you were good to me for 5 generations). i added a few lots, got them set up in their new home... now what?! how are we meeting the new sims? any fun lot recommendations? i'm considering avoiding premade sims+families entirely and making my own and furnishing their homes, but i think my nraas settings are still out of sorts because there's a lot of moving and shuffling just in the first few days.

For those of you who don’t know, TheQuxxn was a well known Sims 3 YouTuber during the game’s peak back then. She specialized in let’s play series, create a sim videos, store content reviews, stuff pack reviews, and showcasing her off-camera households.
Unfortunately she passed away on July 13, 2013 due to surgery complications and fans designated July 22nd as Quxxn Day.
She’s the reason I got into playing the sims 3 and her enthusiasm for the game made her videos so fun to watch. Back then I remember I’d listen to her videos in the background while playing lol.
Anyways I just wanted to take a moment to honor her memory. Please share your favorite Quxxn memory in the comments if you have one!
Hope you all have a super, fantastic, awesome, splendid, amazing day :)
If you don't know, Tyra Banks published a completely self written YA dystopian fantasy novel titled Modelland in 2011. The story follows a 15 year old girl named Tookie De La Creme and her experience attending the exclusive modeling school Modelland, which also serves as homebase of the autocratic ruler (the BellaDonna) of the world (Metopia) that Tookie and co reside in. I can't recommend this novel enough if you're even the slightest bit interested, and if reading isn't your thing Tyra also fully wrote and produced a song inspired by her insane work of fiction for your listening pleasure 🙂↕️
Slides go Tookie, her 13 year old sister Myrracle, their mother Creamy and their father Christopher/Chris-Creme-Crobat, a once super famous and nimble acrobat 🤸♀️

One thing that does bug me about TS3 is how you can’t turn off specific features for expansion packs, and are forced to take or leave all of it.
For instance I love the cafe’s, bowling alleys, social media etc from University Life, but I really dislike the social groups system.
I love the film career and instruments from Late Night, but the celebrity system again is too much.
What do you guys wish you could take and leave from the expansions?

I’m stuck between doing what the title suggests. A family in Island paradiso owning resorts, being lifeguards and scuba diving or should I do the ranch/farm life let’s play with competitive horse riding and lots of pets. What do y’all find more interesting to watch?

Nobody was playing this game. It's also crazy because the base game sold 10 million copies. There's probably more nuance to this but still. These numbers are crazy low. Nobody played this game. Numbers are so low that ea didn't feel pressured to re-release the game or continue fixing it. Its also crazy that they barely received any backlash for not re-releasing it when they re-released the other games.
People theorize the reason the game didn't sell well was because of performance and just the state of pc gaming at the time. Which definitely has some weight to it, I feel the burnout everytime I clean my savefiles out.
But yeah I'm greatful to the community for keeping the game alive.
Side note: We need the mainline games on consoles

Hi yall. I just did some quick calculations treating each sim day as the equivalent of three months. I defined the child/teen boundary at 12 and the teen/young adult at 19 because I like the teen stage, and I set the minimum lifespan of elders at 75 years.
This gave me 4 days in the baby stage, 16 in toddler, 28 for child and teen, 84 for young adult, 100 for adult, and 40 for elder. A total of 300 days. If I change it so each day in an adult life stage is the equivalent of 4 months, I have only 244 days instead. Currently I'm torn, because 300 days sounds like a lot but I really liked keeping it mostly proportional. What do y'all think? Does anyone have other customized age spans they'd like to share?

I’m doing a super lax 10 generations run where the child that gets the carry on the main line of the family is whatever one gets the imaginary friend in the mail as a baby. I’m on generation 4 at the moment so my sim has an imaginary father and an imaginary grandfather (human great grandfather since the original sim was an adult and couldn’t have an imaginary friend) and it occurred to me that by the end of the 10 generations my lead sim will be less human than imaginary friend
