I was scammed today by a person that I am assuming pretended to be a girl I sent them explicit photos which sadly had my face in one of them . They follow most of my freinds and people I know that go to my school . I am scared out of my mind and I dont know what to do . They threatened to post the content on all social media (i only have 2 and they only know about 1) i didnt read the full message they sent so I dont know if they were demanding money or something. I blocked them on my socials and any accounts that might be connected to them . I dont really know what to do if anyone could share some words of encouragement to make me feel better that would be great .

I'm posting here because my girlfriend has been targeted by someone on Steam, and we're looking for advice on whether there's anything else we should do.

Out of nowhere, this person started claiming that he has nude photos of my girlfriend and began making disgusting sexual comments about her. We know for a fact that these claims are completely false.

What's even more confusing is that we have absolutely no connection to this person. We have zero mutual friends, he's not an ex or someone either of us has ever known, and as far as we can tell, the only thing we have in common is that we're from the same country. We have no idea why he targeted her.

We immediately reported the account to Steam Support. Steam has acknowledged the report, and we're currently waiting for the outcome.

I have:

• Screenshots of the harassment.
• The harasser's Steam profile ID.
• A screenshot of Steam Support confirming they received the report.

I'm not posting those publicly right now to avoid violating subreddit rules or exposing personal information, but I can provide them to the moderators if needed.

My main questions are:

• Is there anything else we should do besides reporting the account?
• Has anyone dealt with a similar situation on Steam?
• If Steam issues a community ban, does that usually prevent someone from continuing this kind of harassment?

Thankfully, no money has been demanded, and this doesn't appear to be a typical financial sextortion scam. Instead, it seems to be a case of targeted sexual harassment involving false claims and intimidation.

Last night I received DMs on tiktok from someone posing as a real person. I gave them my number and I flirted with them and eventually ended up sending explicit pictures of myself. My face isn’t in the explicit photos but they have pictures of my face and my Tiktok. I ended up sending them money to delete the pictures which fueled them to hound even more money out of me. They have a screenshot of my friends on tiktok and are threatening to send the text messages and photos to them if i don’t send more money. I’m very stressed out and blocked both numbers they tried contacting me on and I privated my socials. Any tips or anything to ease my mind?

A few hours ago I found someone on reddit and it led to some sexting. Of course being horny I sent nudes without thinking of the consequences of it, for once it wasn't an OF seller so I felt more confident. It happened on telegram, I received a screen capture of a website telling it was looking for information about me. At the moment I panicked but after some research I don't have a personalized username on telegram and my phone number is available only to people in my contact list. Is there any chance the photo might be leaked or am I safe ? Btw I have blocked the scammer and stoped the conversation as soon as there was threat, I haven't received message by mail or Instagram so I believe they haven't find any of these.

I got hit up by this guy on tiktok when i was going live, and he said add him on snap for money. Was probably my first mistake, but idk. We started talking, and he wanted pics and vids for money. He also sent videos of what he was looking for of other girls, so he's done this to other people too. I wanted him to send some money first, but he refused, and wanted the videos first. I should have asked for the money first, and I know that, but idk what to do now, because he saved the videos, screenshotted my snap, and he has my tiktok. He also said he would pay me extra if I let him share the videos to get other girls to trust him, so I did that. After that he blocked me. Idk what to do. If it gets leaked, can I take legal action?

So i was using this chatapp called Ometv where you chat with random people around the world. There's a lot of crazy stuff going on this app.

A couple of times, i exposed myself when I got caught up in the moment.

Now I'm concerned because my face was visible. I never shared any of my social media handles. But I have a small social media following and if someone did a backward search they would easily find me online.

Since then, I have made my social media account private and a random account keeps trying to add me even if i decline the request. Im worried this is someone who has captured footage of me.

How should I deal with this? Im afraid of ever making my Instagram account public again

Out of interest, where would a scammer likely spread these images and videos to if they weren’t to send to my ‘contacts’.
I’m asking as I would like to be attentive to these sites or pages and report/have them removed..

So on the 30th of may unfortunately I got scammed, they have my insta and my number, I’ve changed my insta name since and it’s hard to find me but they could if they was looking for me, I’m going travelling soon and wanted a public insta but have to keep it private atm because of this, I haven’t heard anything since the day and the pics have my face scribbled out so there’s no real proof it’s me, I’ve made another insta that’s also hard to find and he probably couldn’t find so should I just keep my account private for now and am I worrying about the wrong things, should I make my account public or keep it private

hello this is the first time i post on a subreddit so im not very familiar with this, anyways me and a girl from my school used to text and one day we started texting in a intimate way and sent images so turns out the girl took screenshots from another device and she said she doesnt remember or knows who she sent it too (i talked to her recently) keep in mind this was 3 years ago and my school knew and teachers knew about this the girl failed her class and had to redo with a class younger than us by a year, forward to this present day ive been getting blackmailed by a person on an multiple alt accounts on tiktok (its someone from my school under a fake name and he keeps creating accounts) i never thought much of it at first since the person messaged me privately “hi i want to talk to u about something” but then he showed our messages from 3 years ago and he threatened to post my intimate pictures but i blocked him and today he viewed my profile under the same name (he claims that he is in her class and that i “ruined” his life when i said the texts are deliberately ai) and i blocked him, do i let this situation go?

So I am a recent victim of sextortion. It happened just yesterday after taking the conversation off Tinder. They ended up getting my entire followers list of Instagram along with nudes which had my face in them.

I followed the advice here to a tee. Barely read the demands and blocked them off everything and deactivated my Instagram. Spoke to a few close friends for reassurance too. I was looking at the stats from the poll/pinned post PDF and got a little worried today when I saw that ~20% of blackmailers just post stuff anyway if they're blocked. It's been less than 24hrs and nothing's happened so far. How much longer before I'm in the clear and I know for sure they've given up?

All this to say, I'd really appreciate having someone to talk to. I'm not sure how long I have to be cautious for and what precautions I need to take moving forward to make sure I'm never contacted again. Also happy to talk to other victims.

She asked to talk on insta so I stupidly added her on my main one , one thing leads to another she sends about 3 videos and I send a 5 second clip pleasuring myself and then they send a screen recording of it with screenshots of my instagram and all my friends and family’s accounts demanding $600 I’ve sent around $400 but they still want the rest and I can’t do that . Will he still send this staff? If yes, how do i handle the situation arround my family? My friends? Especially girls.

Today someone claiming to be her father called me and said she's 15. Someone else called me claiming to be a police officer and said he wanted this to be resolved without charging me. The father called me back wanting money saying his daughter tried to commit suicide. And they want me to pay for the rehab program. I know it's likely a scam but I'm really terrified it's real. The father and the officer both sounded really convincing in their roles. As soon as money was mentioned I blocked them both. I called the police department to reach the officer in a verifiable way. They said there was no one by that name. I'm scared I've hurt someone without intending to, I'm scared I'm going on the registry. What do I do. Someone please tell me.

I met this person on reddit was talking and things got a little heated and we flirted and were sexting (on telegram), received a couple of pictures from their side I was in total assurance it’s all legit (I was terribly wrong) I was asked to send mine and I sent, asked to show a selfie saying you must be really handsome and to my sheer stupidity I sent a selfie.

Suddenly I get a screenshot with my real name, contact number and a paragraph written about r*pe threat and so on. I was threatened it will be shared to my family members and I should comply with their request. I didn’t even read the entire message. I instantly cleared the text from both ends and I blocked them. I deactivated my social media accounts (IG, FB) and went completely ghost on linkedin.

I am afraid what’s gonna happen. I didnt entertained them I blocked and removed all traces as soon as I saw it’s a scam and I am being targeted.

Hi everyone, recently been going through a bad break up and have resorted to using sites like X to fill the void.

Long story short, I sent some nudes (No face just my dick and legs lol) to a person online who seemed legit and right after I did that they stopped responding.

My account on X is 100% a burner with no way for them to find any other social media or personal info of mine. But I do have 1 worry... they had asked me to follow them on Instagram and I didn't. All I did was view their profile and proceed with talking to them. After they stopped responding I went and privated my IG and blocked their Instagram.

Im just worried and spiraling, is there a way that in the span of like an hour (how long we chatted) that instagram would recommend my account to them? Even the photo I sent was a screenshot of a video so even if there WAS metadata it should be inaccurate. (Dont think there was any to begin with)

Around a week ago, someone who seemed around my age added me on TikTok, and usually I don’t add people I don’t know, but I still did. Then, earlier today, they began texting me a lot on TikTok, creating small talk and what not. Eventually, they asked for my snap, and they give me theirs, so I add it. The profile was incredibly sketchy, but despite my instincts essentially yelling at me to not add them, I still did. It started out innocently enough, more random small talk, a snap of our faces exchanged, I thought nothing of it, honestly I thought they just wanted to be friends, but one thing led to another, and they asked me if I wanted to play a dirty game, at first I was hesitant, and I should’ve blocked them right there and then, so, we exchanged nudes. Keep in mind, we had already stated our ages and consented, then, after around the third snap, they suddenly go quiet for around 4 minutes, then send me everything; all the pictures, including the ones of my face, my TikTok account and followers, which includes everyone I know, and demand for me to pay $500, or they’d expose me. My first instinct was to block them, but they messaged me on TikTok, saying we could work it out. So, I unblocked them and tell them the amount of money I had on my card. Then I went to the blackmail hotline and the sexual extortion hotline and asked for help, then I reported their profiles. Then I told them I’d sent the information to law enforcement, which I had. They then said, “Be careful out there.” And I blocked them on everything. Stupidly enough, I did not screenshot anything, and despite the coast appearing to be clear, I’m still incredibly scared. I am genuinely ashamed of myself.

To anyone who could be simply scrolling and reading people’s experiences, I want to give some advice. Trust your gut, if something seems off, block them. Like my mom said, “Think which ya mind, not ya penis boy.”

I’ve never been much of an online dating app user, mostly opened accounts and deleted them after a while of not getting results. Recently, after a bad breakup and feeling left out with all my friendgroup being sexually and socially active, i re-downloaded them and even paid for a premium membership.
Again, after a long time with zero to no matches, I had a sudden match one night. They were very straightforward and claimed they were looking for something much more extreme. As a much more inexperienced person, it was thrilling so as we moved our conversation to whatsapp, i was suspicious but somewhat reckless. They have sent one time visible pictures and demanded a return with photos/videos with poses and instructions. I was shaky, uneasy and kept covering my face just in case, but it was still irresponsible. Thinking back, i almost knew but did not want to be left out in a way.
When they finally started to threaten me with these images and videos, recorded from another phone’s camera, i was horrified. They demanded 2500 euros in crypto and forced me to act fast. Even somehow found my family members and friends on social media, with screenshots of those explicit content in their dms. I was surprisingly fast to call the cops and explain them the situation, they suggested blocking them and sending screenshots of the chat but couldn’t promise anything as i had expected.
So that’s what i did, its been days and even though nothing has been actually sent to anyone, i had to explain to my relatives and my friends that i was being targeted by a group of blackmailers with fake photos. Even though they have mostly been supportive, i still feel terrible about myself, this whole neat gentleman of a person i’ve built my whole life feels like suddenly gone. My days are passing with worry and guilt, i don’t feel like myself and i don’t know if i ever will again. Don’t even know if it’s going to be worse if they return one day or decide to finally share, the idea of this being possible forever feels like it’s going to haunt me nonstop and i don’t know how that’s a life to be lived.
