Very picture heavy! I’ll need to do this in parts as posts are limited to 20 pictures.

PART 1

I went to the Seiko Museum in Ginza, Japan today so thought you all might like some photos. I photod a lot of stuff but not everything. Much was about the history of time which isn’t really related to Seiko so I left some of that

Apologies for the sh*t post, I couldn't resist.

[Question] What's the most beautiful Presage dial?

Post image

Hi everyone, I'm looking to add another Seiko this Christmas, and I'm considering getting a Presage (gorgeous dial at a relatively affordable budget). I've seen several ones in the past, currently hooked to the Cocktail time SRPE41 'Negroni', but I'm curious about everybody's favorite Presage dials.

So, in your opinion, what's the most beautiful Presage dial? Please show them in the comments 🙏

[SJE085J1] I got my dream Alpinist today!

In March 2023 I got my Deep Lake SPB249J1 and I truly love that watch. It's been a great companion on many trips and hikes, so I have a lot of great memories wearing it.

Though at the time I was buying it the recreation model limited to the 1959 pieces was really the one I wanted and which I was trying to emulate through the beautiful Deep Lake model as it has a dark dial which can appear pretty much black in certain lighting and white lume as opposed to the grey SPB243.

Nevertheless the reinterpretation models are in my opinion fantastic watches which strike a perfect balance between a modern and vintage look. I didn't have any issues at all with the 6R movement over the 3 years with it.

Though still I couldn't get the SJE out of my head and every now and then I would long for it.

In December 2023 I still viewed one in a store in person, still new in stock since the launch in 2021. But the price was prohibitive and I couldn't justify it, I was happy with the SPB which was almost there in terms of the looks.

Fast forward to now and I stumbled on a listing of an unsold example for just a bit above 40% of the retail including the shipping, tax and customs charges. Unused, 5 years of inflation since the release, I figured it's time to get the dream watch.

And it arrived today. I'm absolutely over the moon with it. The dial is stunningly beautiful and I can't quite capture its depth in the photos.

I couldn't resist taking a look at the 6L35 movement. And I must say that it looks equally beautiful. I love the finishing on the rotor and the bridges. And what I didn't see earlier, the polishing on the inside of the balance wheel! Perfect!

I changed the strap since the bund wears a bit awkwardly as it's quite stiff and the end of the strap sticks out as there's only one keeper.

The strap is beautiful though and I'll wear it alone definitely but for now I put it on this cheap one I had in the drawer.

So here, I'm super happy about one of the 1959 pieces.

Now the poor Deep Lake.. someone will have to break the news to it that we might part our ways. I still love it though.

Cheers!

[Question] Keep or Sell Seiko 5 Rowing Blazers Green 38mm

Post image
65 Upvotes

Hey everyone,

I’ve got the Seiko 5 Sports x Rowing Blazers (Green dial / 38mm) arriving which I secured at launch, and I’m torn on whether to keep it or list it on the secondary market.

On one hand, I love the green dial, the checkered bezel, and the vintage preppy vibe of the collab. It’s a super unique piece that adds a fun pop of color.

On the other hand, my main daily wearers already have my everyday tool watch slots covered, and part of me is leaning toward taking advantage of the current hype market to fund a core Swiss piece down the road.

For those who have owned or kept their Rowing Blazers collabs:
Does the novelty hold up over time as a long-term keeper?
Or makes more sense to flip it while secondary demand is hot and put those funds toward a higher-tier grail?

Would love to hear your thoughts!

[SJE093] 62MAS Bracelet Options?

Post image
80 Upvotes

Anyone have any bracelet suggestions for the SJE093 (19mm squared lugs)?

I know the SLA017 bracelet works but it’s pretty much the same bracelet as the SPB143 and I’m not a fan of it, just don’t think it suits; the stamped bulky clasp is poor and doesn’t meet the quality of this case.

I’ve tried the 5-link super-engineer-esque bracelet off of a SPB411, which I actually love the refined look of; the clasp is super low profile (yes it’s not a diver like clasp, I’m not doing any diving at my desk so doesn’t matter) though still stamped, the links articulate well and is super comfortable, but the end links ofc just doesn’t work - There’s a gap between the case and squared edge of the link, as can be seen, and even worse off, the lip underneath the end-link that locks onto the case is now visible through the gap which makes it even worse, otherwise the gap would’ve been tolerable. I thought about just getting the lip filed away but then the end link would spin freely and not work as well, so the only tolerable option to make this bracelet work would be custom fabricated end-links to work with the case and bracelet, which is not a financially viable option😅

Anyone have thoughts, opinions, suggestions, solid alternative bracelet recommendations that look good and is good quality?

[Seiko SRPM21] Seiko x Rowing Blazers Landed!

Received my green (38mm) collab between Seiko and rowing blazers yesterday and I could not be happier! Immediately had to put it on the strap because I’ve been wanting a diver on a strap for the absolute longest.

The green looks incredible in the light and in darker settings, it has a beautiful dark green hue - sometimes almost being black.

It wears incredibly comfy with the smaller lug to lug and the strap completes the look imo. As someone with skinny wrists, the shorter lug to lug and smaller diameter is a dream. I am in the market for new straps since I feel like this watch is a strap monster, so if anyone can point me to any good NATOs or whatever they think would look good I’m all ears!

I know that it was hard for some people to get this watch and for some, they couldn’t get it at all because of how fast it sold out. Couple of tips I have from my experience and reading online:
- have a shop account (or some way to checkout faster) so that you don’t have to manually input in card information
- use the email link for early access or the normal drop, the text message came about a minute too late and it was mostly gone by then

I purchased this in Changi airport in Singapore around 7 years ago and was trying to find out more about my Seiko collection. The only one out of 8 watches I can't find online is this? It came on this strap and claims to be one of 1300 so I don't know why I can't find more information?

Where is the best place to get a vintage seiko 6105 8110 serviced and repaired, it has got some black mould come up in a few spots in the last few months here’s a picture of it now vs in march of this year with no black mould then. So it would be good to get that fixed to back to how it was.
Would also need all the seals replaced including the crown. I’m in Melbourne Australia but happy to post to any reputable business to get it fixed.

Just picked up this vintage Seiko for about $121 when converted. Love it’s unique 60s/70s look. Watch is from November 1967. Still with the original Milanese style bracelet

Haven’t found much about it online just two sold listings (around $400) and one active one on eBay going for $300+.

Anyone know more about this model? Would really appreciate it
