I have memories of wall hack jumping. Running on outside of MAPs through glitches and laughing with my buddies I taught. Yeeting grenades, grenade launcher too? and taking people out at spawn. Going hard and being last one alive on team because I did not like dying early and waiting for next game. I recall wiping out a few teams by myself and being so thrilled and loved the attention from tm8s. I was always moving, never camping unless it was short term strat with guy nearby.

I watched Socom Battles turn into Game Battles turn into MLG as I competed in 3 clans. I stopped playing as much in S3. I also have memories of fixing my controllers and cycling several of them. I had a tendency to throw them at the wall every so often. Also loved painting the shells. Another memory is making Socom sigs in the forums for people. I also gave socom friends backdoor links to paid adult sites cause I was a coder and enjoyed finding loopholes.

Our memories though are always over the top, often inflated and can be partially false. But this is what my 40yr old brain has left. I can still see parts of the maps in my head, so I have to believe some of my brain 😄

I got my PSP diagnosed, and I am waiting for new glass cover, the joystick was sticking, the previous faceplate i had was not putting contact on my psp. I gotten a PSP3000 that from Japan I need to mod with ARK4/5. Any one mod psps? Oh i did get PSP2000 modded, and bought ally rog x, and man getting all socoms working on single device its heaven!, plus the new modern tactical shooters

Use to play a lot of socom 2 as a kid. Fell out of touch with my clanmates because they moved on to socom ca but I only had a ps2. I remember the clan leader being named Toymaker and he had a nephew in his clan St James. Found the clan on gb but haven’t been able to reach any of them. Hoping to find them on here.

Im trying to play confrontation on RPCS3 emulator, so far I can get to the menu and select a server to join a match, but once I join the match the screen turns black and pretty much the game gets stuck there, idk if it’s my settings or what could it be, need help

Has anyone thought of using GPT5.6 or fable5 to remake socom 2? Are there any assets online that were pulled from socom2 that would assist in making this? I've seen these latest AI built minecraft, full out shooters, incredible stuff. So why not Socom2 for us? Even just 1 map would be great.

I beaten SOCOM FTB 1 on admiral many times, I recently found my umd, and been playing again. Last time i played was 10 years ago when my psp went down.

On a PS3 Fat boy. Happens no matter which ISO I launch. Game worked fine a few weeks ago. Other games including Confrontation work without issue. I’m honestly stumped

I had steamdeck for while, I couldn't never get the psp emulator to work, I had pcsx2 working for while. It stopped working. Anyway I gonna have put windows on it. Anyway recently I bought asus ally rog x. Feels so good to have socom ps2 and psp in single platform. In pc/laptop psp games feel of because of time i play them psp.

I just wanted to say I haven't thought about this series in a long time. I recently saw a video on youtube showing apparently there's modern players??? Man that threw me back.
I was in 8th Grade when SOCOM 2 came out. I played the HELL out of that online. Didn't get the chance to really play the other titles, but SOCOM 2 was my jam. Played that for years even after other SOCOM titles came out. My main weapon I loved using was the M60E3 LMG. Wasn't until like 2008 when I finally got a 360 and started playing Halo that I stopped playing SOCOM 2.

Anyways, I was part of a clan called F@MOB or F@ or sometimes [F@Mafia](mailto:F@Mafia). I remember my clan tag being [F@MOB](mailto:F@MOB). The main teammates I remember playing with was an older guy, probably in his 30s at the time, called 420Time! and I remember his legit son 210Time sometimes played with us too.
There was also ChiefHerron and MrAsshole or MrA$$.
Those were the main 4 I can actively remember playing with.
I went by CMDMaxwell and later I promoted myself and became GenMaxwell.

Anyone from the old F@ clan still around? As far as rivals I know we had a couple different clans we'd battle, but the main rivals name I can recall were the QK clan or QuickKillers.

This is genuinely peak gaming. No game could ever come as close to this in terms of pure entertainment. I wish I still had my psp to run it back.

Can someone extract the SOCOM sounds and convert them into .wav or something? I extracted them with Game Extractor but still cannot convert them. I don't really want to pay either.

Obviously I own the physical disks and would like the content for personal use.

If we had the MP7 extended mag from SOCOM Combined Assault, it would would been better. The stock weapon for mission was HK MP7. On my first try, i went thinking it was quick mission, once i got into the streets fight, i got outclass, I think I went with MP5, its big challange, but i did back then, then I went with M4A1,or 553 or HK G36C, also changed the guys guns for more firepower!

RIP DNAS

Hey all, so I finished up some pretty cool things over my 4-day weekend (I did not leave my computer) that I'd like to share with you all. The game is obviously still in VERY early pre-alpha stages, so take everything with a grain of salt, but promising progress regardless! Here is the start of the stealth system (just a part of it, enemy is currently non-reactive to lights going out yet)

Biggest highlights:

- Night time sandbox testing mission
- Night vision showcase
- Shooting out lights to make more darkness
- Main Menus
- Added visible guns with an easy backend way to add more with attachments in the future
- Ability to choose which objectives you want on an instant-action mission
- Random spawns for enemies every game
- Visible map by pressing M with objectives
- Post-mission info scenes (accuracy, teamwork, etc , still early)
- A lot more minor tweaks
- Added a death cam upon death
- Started work on a modular building system so each mission can have random buildings and objectives in it (one day)

While I hope you can all understand that this project has a long, long way to go before any kind of release, the amount of support I got on the last post was insane! I appreciate every one of you for the words of encouragement, and hopefully one day this game actually becomes something. Hey friends, I was wondering if anyone from my old time playing is around on Reddit. We used to run the U.S. East Breach Medley lobbies all day!

I was VinceValentine and Hakkur.

Had a need to crave my nostalgia so I went back and watched a lot of the cutscenes from the original trilogy, trying to remember a lot of the OPFOR/operating theaters. Anyway, I've got a few:

• The New Slavic Order from SOCOM 3 is one of the few organizations which actually can pose a threat to a military force of a developed nation like Poland with its high-end equipment (ballistic helmets, tactical gear, AN-94s, SG 552s, etc), tactics, and influence. It just occurred to me that a lot of their members are so battle-hardened, none of them (aside from the arms dealer and FAT CAT in Retribution) have a chance to surrender.
• The Algerian Patriotic Front in SOCOM 2/North African Patriotic Front in SOCOM 3 has Great Value Saddam named Heydar Mahmood who, despite his horrific resolve (commits genocide in Morocco and Algeria, tortured members of the Algerian government by ripping out their teeth, orders the attacks on embassies simply because they are foreign, tortures his own men for failing, executes a CHA envoy, etc), is depicted as a bumbling fat warlord who fumbles his invasion of Morocco and just gives memoirs in his war room by SOCOM 3 due to his hubris.

Still very early progress. But you can clearly see the inspiration!

I want this game to eventually be procedurely generated for campaigns and missions. Getting harder the more you progress. Different outfits and models eventually. I love the voice comms I was able to make. The command menu works. The squad AI and enemies can be a little aim botty, but it's expected this early. I want stealth to reward you, not using it to punish you.

Ideally a room clearing, stealth privatization, more condensed maps (and large ones). Just much better designed obviously. I want an intelligent squad. That moves like the old SOCOM days.

I made a Post on this subreddit maybe 1 year ago that I wanted to play this game online.

After many years, I finally managed to get my original PS2 Slim and SOCOM 3 online.

With the help of ChatGPT, I used the community DNS setup and, surprisingly, the connection test was successful. I was able to get past the network setup, connect to the servers, typed in my name and even select a map.

The interesting part is that everything seemed to work technically. I didn’t get any major connection errors and the game allowed me to host a room. However, nobody joined.

I’m located in Austria, so I’m wondering if I was simply online at the wrong time, or if most of the current SOCOM 3 player base is active on specific days and hours, because I believe that the majority of the people that play this game online are located in the United States.

Are people still playing SOCOM 3 regularly, or has most of the community moved to Combined Assault? Is there also a discord group for the Socom community?

For me, this was mainly a nostalgia project. As a kid, I never really got to experience SOCOM 3 online, and now I’m trying to experience everything I missed back then especially the large maps and vehicles.

Any advice on the best times to find active games would be appreciated.

I can understand Arabic since that's the #1 foreign language that'd be important for a Navy Seal to learn, and I can kind of understand Portuguese if he's Brazilian American. But Albanian? It's such a tiny language. How does he know 4 unrelated languages?
