If anyone is wondering how this was ran I made a pert just the best I could. I didn’t include a booster because that seems to have changed some with 5g and I haven’t been in the scene for 4 years. A lot has changed since I did this with 5g now and it should be a lot faster then I had just more expensive.
Here is what I could find for what you would need, it all should be double checked I just drafted it up the best I could.
DIY Cellular Internet Setup Guide
This is a summary of the equipment and concepts for recreating a cellular internet setup similar to one I built several years ago. It is intended as a reference for hobbyists.
1. Cellular Service
• AT&T unlimited data plan (or similar)

Note: Verify the plan supports your intended router and 5G. Many reseller plans are managed by the seller and may have restrictions.
2. Modem / Router Options
Budget LTE:
• NETGEAR Nighthawk M1 (MR1100)

- LTE only
- Two external antenna ports (2×2 MIMO)
Modern 5G:
• UOTEK AX1800 5G Router

- 5G modem/router with Wi-Fi 6
- Four external cellular antenna ports (4×4 MIMO capable)
Premium option:
• Cudy P5 5G Router - needs 2 2x2 antenna or one 4x4
- Better-known brand with four external antenna ports.
3. Antennas
• Directional 2×2 MIMO antenna kit

For the Nighthawk M1:
- One 2×2 kit.
For a four-port 5G router:
- Two 2×2 kits OR one directional 4×4 MIMO antenna.
4. Cabling
• 50-ohm low-loss coax (LMR-240 or LMR-400)
• Keep cable runs as short as possible.
• Long coax runs reduce 5G performance.
5. Mounting & Protection
• Antenna mast or wall mount
• Outdoor weatherproofing
• Lightning/surge protection
• Proper grounding
• Outdoor-rated Ethernet cable if the modem is mounted outside
6. Power
• UPS battery backup ($80–300) to keep internet running during short power outages.
7. Notes
• Directional antennas generally perform best in weak-signal areas when aimed at the serving tower.
• Modern 4×4 MIMO systems can outperform older 2×2 LTE setups if the router, antennas, and carrier all support it.
• Actual speeds depend on tower load, signal quality, supported bands, and your service plan.
