Using Regatta Central, I took a look at entries for RowFest (2024-2026) and the separated Club Nats and Masters Nats, which previously were mid-July and mid-August 2013-2023). Some observations about these 13 summers of entries (no regatta 2020). From 2015 to 2022 the number of entries for both regattas ranged from 3140 to 3696. The last three years of the combined regatta the entries have been 1965, 2589, and 2111.
Since 2013 there have been a total of 24 regattas (3 combined, the rest separate). There were 5 in NJ and OH, 4 in MI and TN, 2 in FL, and in in IN, MA, CA, an OK. That makes 10 in the midwest, 6 on the east coast, 7 in the south (including OKC) and 1 on the west coast.
Highest # entries for Masters Nats was Worchester, MA 2150 and Grand Rapids, MI 2124. Lowest entries for Master Nats Sarasota (1076) and Oak Ridge (1448). Interesting that Highest and Third Lowest Masters Nats entries were both Grand Rapids, 2019 vs. 2014.
The largest year of entries for both was 2016 with 3698 in Worchester and Bethel, OH. Masters Nats alone that year was 2016, only 95 fewer than this year's combined Club and Masters Nats.
The smallest Club Nat only entries was in Bethel, OH in 2023 with 938. The 2nd largest was also in Ohio with 1692. The largest Club Nats was in NJ with 1729.
