I have to admit that, since reddit doesn't openly display the statistics anymore, I missed the exact moment it happened. But based on our trajectory it must have been within the last 2-3 months. Right now we are over 53k already and still growing steadily!
That means it's once again less than a year since the last milestone and I want to welcome everyone who has jumped aboard. I hope all of you are having a great time here.
As always, feel free to comment any of your thoughts about the sub, it's rules, moderation or visual design, new flair ideas (the little tags next to your username - mine says "Jaybird") or whatever else - positive or negative - you want to say.

They're nothing special and should be pretty normal for everyone already, but these are going to be our rules going forward. If you see someone act against them, you can report the post or comment and the mods will handle it.
1. Be respectful
2. No sexually explicit content
3. No Spam / Self Promotion
4. Credit Fan-Artists
5. Mark spoilers
6. Don't link to illegal comic book sites
EDIT (05/2022): Due to an incident where close to half the pages of a new issue were shared here, which we decided was too close to piracy, we have added a new rule
7. Don't post more than 5 (full) pages from the same issue
EDIT (01/2025):
8. Don't link to the platform formerly known as Twitter
To comply with Rule 4, either provide a link / linktree to different platforms, or mention the fan-artist's profile name in your post.
EDIT (04/2025): Rule 4 has been clarified to only apply to fan-art that doesn't already contain a clearly readable name-tag or profile-name. And fan-artists posting their own work here should add the Fanart (by me) flair to their posts.
EDIT (10/2025): Do not use this space to call for a "true fans revolt" or to organise harrassment of creators, etc - we don't want to be associated with you wimps
9. No incitement of mass-feedback campaigns
EDIT (03/2026): This stuff has always been removed as spam, but now it's a proper rule
10. No AI-generated content
Enforcement is based on personal estimation by the mods - there are no "AI-checker" tools involved. Contact us in case of an unwarranted removal.
If you have any questions or suggestions regarding these rules you can ask them below this post.

I was really disappointed when we found out this is what they were doing with him. The Absolute universe is like the perfect place to let him be what he's supposed to be. Villains are already dying constantly, so it doesn't have the same insistent status quo of the mainline comics that prevented Jason from killing even the worst of them. There's way more fucked up shit that could happen way faster to get him killed in a way that would *definitely* cause more trauma than the mainline story. The Lazarus pits are already established as existing to the same capacity they do in mainline, and Talia is still alive if they wanted to have her resurrect him. And there's just so many things they could do with him that wouldn't fit the tone of the mainline universe, like imagine if this time Bruce was the one who brought him back from the grief of killing him since he's definitely more of an antagonist in this series so far.
Idk, I was really excited for Absolute Red Hood, I thought it'd be the perfect chance to atone for some of the mistakes made in the mainline universes while avoiding the wrath of DC editorial. Like, tell me he doesn't fit 10x better in Absolute Gotham. There's some evil mfs in there who need to be dead. Also, his rivalry with Batman could get a lot deeper now. It's a lot harder to justify not killing when this iteration of Batman is also chopping off hands and snapping elbows back, it'd be easier to see where Jason got the ingrained violence from. I hope they let him be the real Red Hood eventually, mech suit Joker goon Jason is just not it.

In a perfect timeline, how would you want Jason Todd to evolve after the events of Under the Red Hood? What kind of characteristics should he develop, and how would you handle his dynamic with the rest of the Bat-Family?
Other than keeping him perpetually at odds with the Bat-Family or turning him into DC's version of the Punisher, what other direction would you want his character to take?

Little backstory: I've been an avid manga/anime fan for a long time and grew up watching xmen and the mcu as a passionate fan but I've never actually read any comics. As a certified nerd and manga reader I figured it would be easy to get into the work the mcu is based on but then I saw all the "chaos" with the different authors, versions, runs, timelins, issues bla bla and as someone who likes order, chronology, and logic, it put me off. I prefer my format to be "start with vol 1 and then continue woth 2" and xmen gave me an aneurysm. But recently something happened that changed my brain chemistry: I found out about Jason todd. It all started with a couple of hot nightwing edits that flooded my ig timeline and let me tell you, I was very interested. And I figured that he is gonna be the one to actually get me to read comics. But this other dude kept on poppig up. His sad, red brother? And suddenly I was faced with the most soul-crushing jason todd edits known to mankind. I didn't even know him but jason and bruce to radiohead would affect anyone. And I just had to find out more, who is he? What's his backstory? What do you mean he died and came back? What's up with his daddy issues? So as one does I fell down a rabbit hole and now my entire ig and Pinterest are full of Jason todd edits and fanart. It's bad. But it's good. He is just exactly what I like, a misunderstood, rebellious kid, traumatic & tragic story turning him into an anti-hero who does not have the stupid no-kill rule but his own moral codex, oh and he is very hot and wears a cool mask (hahaha let a girl live). But now I have to actually become a real fan who reads the comics and not just a poser who lives off of fanon edits. So long story short: what do I need to read to get into red hood/Jason todd? The core material explainig his origin, time as Robin, death, resurrection, the transformation into red hood and evolution I guess. Only once I've done that do I want the nitty gritty or "fun to know". Bear in mind I'm a bloody beginner, not just when it comes to red hood or DC but comics altogether. I've tried to do some preliminary research but people keep on saying that certain authors hate him and completely mischaracterize him and that there's barely anything out there that actually does him justice. An unfortunate case of great character but bad writing that dims his potential? So I was a bit anxious about starting off with the wrong stuff and tarnishing my view of him. So I've come to ask my wise elders for help❤️ I'm ready to add another credential to my nerd resumé and hope that the comic and red hood community will welcome me🥰

I just finished the compact comic of under the red hood and I’m so confused. I mean the ending randomly jumps to a fight where time Drake appears after no being in the book at all, Jason dressed up as hush but then it’s not him and then the book just ends like can someone please help?!

Got myself Fatson Todd for my Birthday Saturday, and he fr came in today looking like he was flattened by a hydraulic press like Kokichi Oma was 😭
But to be 100% real here, he’s so adorable and is now my favorite thing ever 😍

This is the second Red Hood minifig that I've made, it's mostly the same design but the jacket is new, along with the new hair and cowl!

to be lyrics that edited in, but for some reason every time I uploaded from my editing software, it would jumble all the words and it would just be incoherent red line in the middle of the screen so I just got rid of it

Am i the only one who isn’t satisfied with Jay’s design? I like the voice actor, but why did they need to give in an alpha male hair. Also the white streak should be brighter and longer. The only noticeable scar shouldn’t be on the side of his head, he should have a few medium and small ones scattered across his face and neck to show the brutality of vigilante life and his time with Joker.
What do you guys think are the chances he gets a new design revealed at comic con this week?

Even with this terrible design Jason’s still so pretty that he’s been told it directly.

It’s gone to a point where I’m starting to think Batman is genuinely a piece of shit the amount of times that I’ve seen an official comic where Bruce is beating Jason up or berating him even though Jason is the way he is because of Bruce it is honestly crazy mind you these are official comics like I was already uncomfortable when Batman was beating Jason up in the movie under the red Hood in that bathroom scene that was a brutal fight for someone who claims he loves Jason as a son
And then I saw a comic earlier where Batman’s literally beating the absolute shit out of Jason and literally saying how much of a failure Jason is just because he killed someone
ARE YOU SERIOUS!?!???? HAVE WE LEARNED NOTHING?! genuinely this kid died in your hands. He died because you refuse to kill the joker because you weren’t fast enough all this could’ve been avoided if you just killed the joker and you have the nerve to see him be brought back to life and then get mad when he kill someone even though your lack of killing is the reason that he died in the first place. And then Jason says “ you’ve never hit joker this hard” and then Batman backhand in it says shut up
Listen man I love Batman, but that just knocked him down a couple of points because that was just fucked. I don’t know if it’s the lack of communication between writers and what they do with Jason but last I checked Batman was a grieving father for Jason two times in fact, cause first he saw him die and then he sees how much Jason has changed. You think he’d be a little bit more light on Jason to the point where the running joke really should be Jason is the favorite child but no, in fact, Jason is considered the most hated child out of the group which is so fucking sad for his story it’s like the writers just hate Jason with a burning passion. Can we get a writer who actually loves the character of red Hood literally pick anyone from the sub Reddit and put him in the writers chair and I guarantee you that comic will do numbers cause frankly I’m tired of seeing Jason get abused constantly. It’s either he’s getting beat up or he’s the sex appeal and I am tired of it.
All of his other brothers, get gold trophies, and shit by the writers while he is locked in the basement only to come out when the writers wanna write a sexy emo boy
Unlike his brother dick where he gets written everywhere and gets to be the sex appeal and he doesn’t get beat up nearly as much

I have a question for everyone if my head cannon for him is correct or not
I’d imagine since he died as a teenager and got resurrected as an adult what his mind still be stuck as a teenager I always thought of him being the classic immature, older brother to Damien and Tim
Not that he’s like dumb or anything. He’s just immature like he would pull pranks on Bruce with Tim and Damien. And he would act more like a teenager than an adult.
But
I wanna know what you guys think because I can’t buy comics so I can’t really delve super deep into red Hood. I’m only from an outside perspective really other than watching the movie and playing the games. What is his personality most like?
