Is NUST Quetta Safe for Girls?

Hi! I'm planning to apply for NUST Quetta, and I have a few questions. I'd really appreciate it if a current student or someone with experience could help.

As a girl, is NUST Quetta safe, especially the hostels? How is the overall environment for female students?

Also, are there any part-time job opportunities for girls in Quetta, either on-campus or nearby?

Lastly, how is Quetta in general for learning, personal growth, and student life? Would you recommend moving there for university?

Thanks in advance!

I am losing my mind over what my friend is pulling off in Quetta’s elite circles. The sheer depravity is insane.

I’ve been sitting on this for years, and it genuinely disturbs me to the point where I just need to get it off my chest. I cannot comprehend how this is happening in a society that claims to be so strictly traditional and tribal.

I have a friend—he’s a Baloch guy. Physically, he’s nothing special. Not particularly handsome, doesn't have an elite background. But somehow, this guy has unlocked a level of access to high-society, ultra-rich circles in Quetta (and other major cities) that reads like a literal dark script.

It all started a few years ago when he hooked up on Instagram with this girl from a very prominent Achakzai family in Quetta. Her dad lives and works in Germany running high-end showrooms, so money is an absolute non-issue for them. She lives here with her mom and little sister.

And let me tell you, this girl is easily the most beautiful, stunning girl I have ever seen in Quetta. She looks like a model. But her mindset is completely wild, and she is entirely in control of this dynamic.

She gives him massive amounts of money completely on her own accord. She literally handed him her ATM card and funded his entire lifestyle, explicitly telling him: "Look, we are never getting married. I don't want to marry you. Eventually, I’m going to marry some ultra-rich guy from my own social class. Right now, I just want to have wild fun, and I want to do it with you."

Because there's zero pressure of commitment, they take things to the absolute extreme. They don't just stay behind closed doors—they do reckless, crazy stuff in cars, in public spaces, and wherever they can get away with it.

But it gets even crazier. She actively acts like his hookup manager. She genuinely does not care if he hooks up with others, so she finds and sets up other girls for him. Whenever he travels to Lahore, Islamabad, or Karachi, she coordinates things or connects him with people.

Once, when he was staying in Lahore, she traveled there just to see him. They booked a room at Avari, and she explicitly told him she wanted to try a threesome with another guy. He called up a friend, and they spent the weekend doing exactly that.

She also started looping in her rich friends from BUITEMS and other elite institutions back in Quetta. There was an instance where she told my friend to go to her classmate's house (a Sayed girl) because her family was away in Islamabad. My friend went over and literally lived in that house for a week or two, doing whatever he wanted with her—even though that girl had a serious boyfriend at the time.

The main Achakzai girl knows everything. She knows he takes her money and spends it on other women, and she’s the one fueling it because she just wants to live out this chaotic lifestyle before she settles down for an arranged luxury marriage. In fact, she and her wealthy friends from university have reportedly rented out a private flat in Quetta specifically to host parties—drinking, substance use, and bringing guys over.

Now, because of the networking and word of mouth, rich girls and even married women from prominent local tribes (Achakzai, Kasi, Hazara, and Baloch) are approaching him directly on Instagram. Just recently, this incredibly wealthy Kasi girl slid into his DMs. She told him, "I have a vacant flat in Jinnah Town you can use whenever you want, but you're coming over to my place when I call." Married women are literally risking their lives inviting this random guy into their homes while their husbands are away.

He has affairs running concurrently across Quetta, Lahore, Islamabad, and Karachi. He completely hit the jackpot with that first girl. She’s gorgeous, funds his life, rejects marriage, supplies him with other women, and treats the entire thing like a toxic, high-adrenaline game.

Quetta is supposed to be this hyper-conservative, traditional tribal area where people are strictly monitored. But behind closed doors, the elite tier is living a completely parallel, unhinged reality where wealthy women are calling the shots, paying the bills, and using guys for fun before marrying for status. It genuinely disturbs me how deep the hypocrisy goes.

Has anyone else witnessed this kind of hidden, transactional culture in seemingly conservative cities, or is my friend just living in a glitch in the matrix?

Discussion Why have you guys declared war on the human race using traffic?

I have to wait legit 5-10 minutes to cross the road sometimes and even then i have to watch out for cars and bikes from both sides while crossing. Why is everyone going so fast. there is NO WAY all of you have some place to be. Also why are there kids who look like toddlers riding bikes? who taught them that. genuinely why is this?

I'm not from Quetta so it might be that i'm just not used to it but still curious why you guys treat traffic like we have unlimited lives

so guys im a 2nd year Bsc Accounting & Finance student from NUST Islamabad, back here for #vacations.

now as a business school student + someone who likes to keep their creative side alive ive learnt alot over the course of the year (menu/poster design, product photography, market research, branding strategy, algo manipulation, dashboarding, expense tracking/Excel for small businesses, etc etc)

i want to work with small home-based businesses jinka like aesthetic ya branding fully fleshed out na hou. just because im bored and i feel like it helps me AND them. per project (project translates to 2-3 din ka kaam like a menu design ya a week/month's worth of tracking ya 3 product shoots), as i was saying, per project 500-1000 maximum. wou bhi cos 2-3 days is some good amount of time + paying for my Lightroom & Canva.

Cameras i use for shoots are Sony digicam (#aesthetics) & Canon DCSC 1100D.

also have a side of more technical skills but theyre not suited to home businesses i think, but i do have a resume & portfolio as well.

PLEASE SUGGEST SOME PLACES THAT WANT WORK DONE. im getting bored out of my mind.

and yes i can travel to main city areas/mariabaad/cantt if shoots etc.

Serious about Marriage?

Salaam everyone,

we've recently launched an app called Ikhtiar — a platform built for Muslims who are serious about marriage. We have done 61 matches just in a month after launch.

Unlike typical apps, Ikhtiar focuses on:

* Respectful and Serious users from across the world

* Privacy-first options (including profiles without photos) for women

* A structured and serious approach toward finding a spouse

* Free for first 1000 users

The goal is simple: to make the process of finding a spouse more dignified, intentional, and aligned with our Islamic values.

If you or someone you know is looking for marriage, I’d really appreciate you checking it out and sharing it with others who may benefit.

JazakAllah Khair for your support 🤍

You can find the app here :

Wagwan Quettawals ⚽

Back in Karachi, we usually have proper UCL semi-final and final screenings with football crowds and big screens so I was wondering is there anywhere in Quetta doing a live screening for the Champions League Final this year tonight ?

Could be a café, cinema, restaurant, futsal spot, or even a community-organized screening. Would appreciate any leads 🙌

Plantation

i have been watching allot of documentaries on plantation and revival of waterways and rivers,, our city is hit hardest by climate change, i see spot of NGOs about almost every problem we have, but they haven't been very successful..

i am thinking about starting this project where we trace waterways from the top sources in the mountains to ask the way down to where a dam can be built.

do you guys think I'll be able to find any volunteers, as this would not be supported by any NGO?

this project would have multiple phases from research to planning to actually going into the field and then making results and finally creating a proposal for the next phase?

it's been a lifelong dream do you guys feel like i would find people who would love this kind of work?

Historical British Report on Quetta/Shalkot, Balochistan (1870s)

Full Text Summary

The capital of the Shal district in Sarawan, Bilochistan; but of no great size. It is built of mud, and is surrounded by a crenated wall of the same substance, 1,200 yards in circumference, and furnished with two gates. Amidst the houses (which number some 400), a small fort dominates from the summit of a mound about 80 feet high, from which an extensive view of the Shal valley is obtained.

The town is situated at the northern extremity of the valley, on the direct route from Kandahar to the Bolan Pass, and is important from the fact of its possessing the best supplied bazar between Kandahar and Kalat, and between the latter and Ghazni. The town (originally possessed by the Kasi Afghans) is denominated Kota, Kot or Kwata by the Afghans; and Shal by the Biloches. It is not unlikely that it is now, or will be in time, known by the composite name of Shal-Kot, i.e., the Fort of Shal. Fine orchards and fertile fields surround the place.

The inhabitants are Biloches, Afghans and Hindus. The latter, who may amount to a fourth of the population, are engaged in trade, which is more considerable than might be thought from the appearance of the town. Shal is, in fact, one of the great entrepots of the trade between Herat and Kandahar with Hindustan, a trade consisting chiefly of horses, dried fruits, assafoetida, saffron, etc., on the one hand, and English and Indian cloths and chintzes, indigo, leather, spices, sugar, etc., on the other.

The climate of Shal appears to be salubrious, and the temperature moderate, seldom exceeding 80 Fahrenheit. All writers at least agree as to the healthiness of the place, with the exception of Nott, who has recorded as follows:- "The climate of Quetta is so very unhealthy in July, August and September, that I could have wished avoiding exposing the troops to its dreadful effects during these months".

Hough attributes the sickness of the Bengal regiments to having had to abandon their bedding and warm clothing before arriving at Shal in May 1834, and quotes medical authority to support his view. He, however, states that intermittent fever is produced at the fall of the year by the formation of numerous small morasses at that season. He adds:- "This part of the valley, however, is capable of being drained, which operation would, it is said, decidedly add much more to the salubrity of the place, and probably free it altogether from fevers."

This, of course, is problematical, as, should the Shal valley be subject to the stagnation of its waters, the Mastung and other adjacent valleys may be, or rather are likely to be, similarly unfortunate, and the area over which the influence of malaria may extent has been found by modern science to be more extensive by hundreds of square miles than was in former days considered possible.

The people of Shal have a mode of drying meat somewhat analogous to the American method of making 'pemican'. The principal bones of a sheep are extracted, and the limbs stretched out by small sticks. These flitches of mutton (which, Masson declares, have nearly the taste of bacon) are called khaddit by the Biloch, and 'landh' by the Afghan. They are generally used for winter consumption, when the flocks of the pastoral tribes are removed to the plains of Kachi.

Discussion Feeling stuck in a loop… anyone else been here?

don’t really know how to explain this properly but I feel like I’m stuck in this weird loop

I recently got done with my exams and I was close to doing well so it’s not like I completely failed or anything but ever since then I just feel lost Like I don’t know what to do next I’ve tried looking for jobs or internships but nothing is working out and it’s making me feel even more stuck

There’s this mix of anxiety and low mood but I can’t even pinpoint why I don’t feel fully “lonely,” but at the same time there’s no real social life going on either My days are basically just watching random shows scrolling then sleeping Repeat nd this loop gives me so much anxiety…
