i basically never post on here but figured its time to share something. To beupfront: the app is one i'm building on my own and i'm looking for beta testers who'll get free lifelong access once i release it (hoping to make it free at some point too).

its called screeny and yeah, its yet another screentime app... but hear me out. i built it because no screentime app just worked for me. They're all either overpriced or gimmicky with features i only use for a week, month max. And i've tried a lot (pushscroll, opal, brainrot, unrot, screenzen, refocus and more) and none stuck long term.

But phone addiction isn't just an problem of our nieche, its everyone, and almost no one realizes how normal its gotten. Scrolling while eating, gaming on the phone while watching a movie, hanging with friends while everyone's on their phone. So i started building Screeny a few months ago and reworked the design and core concepts many many times unitl its simple enought with a few unique bits and a personal touch.

Even my non-techie friends already use it, so i figured i'd get some outside feedback too.

Some of the things it can do:

• usage based limit blocking (daily limit in minutes for a single app or groups of apps)
• only allow groups
• schedule based blocking
• always manual unblock first (so distracting apps stay blocked)
• physical key to unlock (printable qr codes or, what i prefer, nfc tags)
• automatic doomscroll detection + personalized pauses if stuck on an app too long
• waiting a couple seconds before opening apps

(you can make a single app or a folder and apply any combo of these rules - or let them apply automatically)

a few of my own setups:

• highest pers. blocking setting so i only get a couple minutes of social media at a time at once
• 30 min time limit on social media apps (started higher, decreased over time)
• from 1am everything except spotify and alarm locks and only unlocks once i finish breakfast and scan an nfc tag in the kitchen, or at 12am if i wait
• and many more...

hope its clear this is my passion project and not a cash grab. its honestly should be my least important project right now 😅 but i keep coming back to it, and it feels like the right time to get some testers for it. If you already use one of those apps and you're happy, ignore this. But if you're open to trying something new, reach out! Any feedback helps.

I built X Reply Sorter after opening every tweet and seeing the replies automatically sorted by whatever bot slop X's algorithm wanted to shill and having to manually sort the replies every time just to see what the actual sentiments of the comment section were.

The extension is basic, it automatically sorts replies by Most Liked on every tweet you open. You can also switch to Recent if you prefer.

Right now it uses X's native sorting options, so it's lightweight and doesn't touch the DOM. But I'm thinking about adding more advanced filtering and sorting with some DOM manipulation — things like:

• Verified accounts only
• Hide verified accounts — opposite take, skip the blue checks
• Sort by retweets, views, or reply count — not just likes
• Only show replies from OP — follow the author's own thread
• Hide replies that are just quote tweets — no lazy reshares from bot accounts or the OP trying to cash in on their virality
• Only show replies with media — photos/videos only
• Hide ads in replies — self-explanatory
• Filter by keyword — block topics you don't want to see

Would love to hear what sorting/filtering options you'd actually use. What annoys you most about X's reply sorting?

Solo dev here. A year ago I was paying for five different apps — habit tracker, workout log, calorie counter, budget app, meditation app — and none of them talked to each other. So I built Flexy: a LifeOS that brings all of them into one iOS app, flowing into a single daily plan.

I'll be honest about where I am: the app is live, localized in 13 languages, obsessively polished (native Liquid Glass on iOS 26, everything hand-crafted)... and I have 3 paying subscribers. Building turned out to be the easy part — getting anyone to see it is the real boss fight.

One thing I recently learned the hard way: I used to force account creation before you could even see the app. People downloaded, hit the signup wall, and left. Last week I shipped guest mode — you now walk straight in, no account, and your data stays on your device.

I just launched Correlate on Product Hunt today after a couple of weeks of being live to the public. Correlate is my attempt to fill the gap between white glove financial advice gated by high fees and the plethora of budgeting apps available to the public. I'll spare you the details of the product, please check out the PH launch if you're interested. Instead, here's what I've learned so far trying to launch a consumer app in the personal finance space.

1. Leverage your network - the majority of my users remain close friends or people in my professional network. My career is in private wealth management where I have established a track record of success and credibility. Right now that is my biggest asset and I am leaning into it as much as possible. A colleague of mine was willing to try out the product after just 2 weeks of me building it and gave me 2 full Google Doc pages of comments and thoughts. Those 2 pages helped me refine glaring gaps in the product at a very early stage. Which leads me to point 2...
2. Launch yesterday - of course this is highly dependent on what your product is and the domain you operate in but getting the product in front of users or potential users before its finished will allow you to spot issues early on and form a bit of a roadmap. I had my own ideas of what features I wanted but my first earliest users wanted something completely different so I had to go in the direction that they wanted while putting my own perspective on it. Your next feature is not going to be the secret sauce that magically solves PMF, hearing what your users actually want and building it is how you find PMF. It can be scary to hand an unfinished product to someone but...
3. Be vulnerable and be proud - it's scary putting yourself out there and asking people to give their opinions on something you've spent a lot of time and effort on. Whether it's friends, family, or strangers on the internet it can be hard to receive criticism. But the quicker you can learn to take the feedback constructively, the quicker you'll be able and willing to show more people your product and get their feedback. That being said, take pride in what you've built and what you're building towards.
4. Be honest and organic - most importantly, people want to feel connected to the product or person they are working with. Take the time to make the product truly yours and rooted in your vision. Don't just let Claude do the design, go do the research of competitor UIs, look at Figma templates, look at Famer templates, watch YouTube videos, etc. That extra mile gets noticed and can be the difference between someone immediately clicking away or staying for an extra 3 seconds. Honesty also goes a long way, people can spot untruthfulness. I have worked on projects with other people who want to make bold claims and use fake numbers/social credibility but I absolutely refuse to ever do that. Instead I try to put value out into the world and hope that the generosity is reciprocated.

I'm a personal trainer, not a developer and I built a fitness app with Lovable because I got tired of the gap between coaching someone in person and what they do the other 6 days a week.

GPS handles AI-adjusted training programs, wearable syncing, and I just shipped food logging today (barcode scan + search, no manual macro-database faffing). Built solo, still finding rough edges as I go.

How it works:

-Append && curl -fsS https://ping-url to a cron job. If the ping doesn't arrive within the expected interval + grace, the monitor flips to down.

-Also does HTTP uptime checks (interval, expected status range, keyword match, SSL expiry).

The part i actually care about: pings can carry metrics as query params (?rows=1400), and you set rules on them; floor, ceiling, or deviation from the recent median.

So ?rows=0 fails against a floor even though the job "succeeded." Lets you treat "ran but processed nothing" as a down state.

Alerts go to email/Telegram/Slack/Discord/webhook; webhook payloads are HMAC-signed so you can automate a response.

Currently working on incorporating auto analyzing stack traces in stderr payloads.

Its been 2 weeks since I hit live on the app store I've had a handful of users. Which is great because it allowed me to fix the bugs that were reported and suggestions i received on how to make the app better from real parents. Now that the updates are done i'm looking to get this app out there so it can serve its purpose. The apps purpose is to allow your child to be creative , encourage them to read and for the parent to sneak in a little lesson. The idea is NOT to take them away from books. When they are on screen time they don't need to be watching or playing games they could also be reading a book which they star in. The text is created by referencing over 99,000 children's book and following patterns from different age groups.

I'm all ears on suggestions, feedbacks and any new features you may think is a great add!

I'm working on a simple app idea to solve a common problem: feeling unsafe walking home alone at night, meeting strangers (e.g., Facebook Marketplace, blind dates), or tracking kids returning from school.

The Problem

Live location sharing (WhatsApp, Find My) works, but:

It’s invasive: People don't always want passive, 24/7 tracking.

It’s passive: If something happens, no one notices until they proactively check their phone.

It drains battery.

The Solution: A Privacy-First Safety Timer

Instead of constant tracking, it acts as an active safety countdown:

Set a timer: Walking home (15 min trip)? Set a 20-minute timer and put your phone away.

Zero live tracking: Your location is not broadcasted while the timer runs.

Check-in: When you arrive, tap "I'm safe" (or let it auto-disarm when connecting to your home Wi-Fi).

Emergency trigger: If the timer hits zero without a check-in, the app immediately alerts your emergency contacts with your last known GPS coordinates.

Just launched Energy Check-In on Product Hunt today and wanted to share it here.

What it is

A Chrome extension that asks you one question every 90 minutes: how's your energy right now (1–5)? You can also tag what you're working on (deep work, meetings, admin, etc.), log your mood, what you're drinking, and add a quick note. The whole thing takes under 5 seconds.

After a few days of check-ins, a personal energy heatmap builds up in the web app — showing you hour by hour, day by day, when your focus and energy are actually highest. Not when productivity culture says they should be. When they actually are.

Why I built it

Before writing a line of code I spent some time reading through r/productivity, r/getdisciplined, and related communities trying to understand what people were genuinely struggling with. The same problem kept surfacing in different words: people have calendars, task lists, and timers — but no data about their own energy. They're scheduling their most important work based on habit and assumption, not evidence.

The tool I wanted didn't exist, so I built it.

What I've learned from my own data (91 check-ins in)

— Monday evenings are my peak window. I had no idea. I'd been writing Mondays off because mornings feel rough. — Deep work scores 3.7/5 on average for me. Meetings score 3.1/5 — every time, regardless of what the meeting is. — My energy is more stable than my perception of it. A lot of my "I can't work right now" moments aren't reflected in the actual numbers.

Yesterday I launched my product on Product Hunt, and I think I could have done things better.

Here's what I would have changed.

What I didn't know is that when the day starts, all products for that respective day start in some kind of "incognito mode" or "randomized period".
That means that you don't see your votes, nor do you see the votes of others.

During this time, the products that are shown on the home page randomly change.

During this "randomized period" Product Hunt decides based on upvotes and comments (I guess) which products are going to be shown on the home page after.

This randomized period lasts for approx. 4 hours.

The 25 products with the most votes and comment ratio will get featured on the home page from then on. I think you can climb into this top 25 also later if your votes and comments allow.

But I would say the first 4 hours play a super important role, or maybe THE most important role, to success.

What I saw from today, you would need 100 to 150 upvotes and approximately 10 to 50 comments in this randomized period to be able to get featured (shown on the homepage).
Btw.: In the image, you gonna see how some of the winners of the day already started the day with 50 up votes. Not sure if this was a fair competition from the beginning.

Anyways: Before you start with Product Hunt, you should have at least this amount of supporters that you can drop in within the first 4 hours.

As far as I understand, the top five of the week will then be promoted in the daily Product Hunt newsletter and will also be shown on the home page the next day as "Yesterday's top products".
