I was wondering if there is an atlas (preferably spanning from the moment life first appeared until now, but just the mesozoic would already be great) which shows the way the continents looked during specific periods, the climate in different areas, heightmaps. Would be really helpful to envision how some extinct animals lived and what their surroundings were like.

They're more likely to be referred to by local or colonial names, like most of our extant megafauna are, rather than Greek or Latin scientific names like they were in our timeline. So if, for example, a reconnaissance party of Spaniards found populations of Smilodon, Homotherium or Miracinonyx in the American Southwest, what kinds of names would they give them? What would the hundreds of Native American tribes call such iconic giants as the mammoths, mastodons, sloths and glyptodonts?

I have been in artblock for too long so I’m using dinos and other prehistoric reptiles to get me out of it. I love dinosaurs so much, and the pterosaurs with the marine reptiles too.

There were some fossils I found, at least 4 shark teeth and 1 mystery find.
Mostly got Late Cretaceous fossils. 

I need some help identifying these.

I labeled the mystery item 1 A for reference.:
What is it? I’m wondering if it’s a petrified piece of wood or a piece of bone? It did not break apart in my hand. I found it in the bank. 

4 Shark teeth: Are the shark teeth all from a Thresher (Paranomotodon angustidens) shark? 
Or is it from a Squalicorax crow shark?

The last picture is a close up. There are serrated edges on the side. Is this from another shark species?

Im currently working on improving this game, adding more animals and plants of the time. Currently it has three different eras, carboniferous, early devonian and jurassic era.

What makes palaeophis so much less well known when compared to gigantophis Titanoboa and vasuki respectively?

Most of the bitten bones showed no signs of healing, suggesting the animals were bitten around the time of death or afterward — evidence of scavenging rather than active predation. The scientists also used the Wyoming bonebed to refine broader scientific standards for identifying tooth traces on fossil bones.

In their research, Dr. Siviero and co-authors examined 3,013 bones excavated between 1997 and 2017 from a paleontological site near Hanson Ranch Station in northeastern Wyoming, part of the Lance Formation.

The bones belonged overwhelmingly to a single species of large plant-eating hadrosaur, Edmontosaurus annectens. Only a small fraction of the bones — thirteen out of 3,013 — showed marks resembling tooth traces
